In fairness it does have six modes. Unlike other TFs I kinda think making it complicated is justified to make each mode at least somewhat distinct.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Six modes would have been bit of a mission to engineer at that scale and still look nice.

The double dots seems to be some sort of vulcan guns(like in alot of Gundams) in this angle, so I guess some reprolabels/simple paintjob would help the look?

A quick PS job. It does looks better like this.

Fansproject has updated their facebook page with the bio for the toy.

M.A.D. L.A.W. - via FP's facebook page

Quote:
confused by his rumored origins, and considered by many to be the son of a tyrant, v was so conflicted that he had never been able to change into any alt. Mode, and getting stuck halfway through. His entire life, he had never known what he turned into, and without knowing what he was, he had struggled to find a function.

While trying to save a village, he suffered a vicious attack at the hands of uuuu and sigma l, who left him for dead. He would have died, but the villagers he failed to defend, saw kindness in his actions and nursed him back to health. The villagers taught him the act of meditation, in an attempt to boost his natural healing abilities. V struggled with this for a long time, but he persevered, and then one day, something new happened. Mid-meditation, his form altered, into that of a wolf, a blend of mysterious energies shot out as he did so and one of the villagers recognized him as something ancient from times past...an elemental; a robot with multiple alt. Modes and strange powers.

Vowing to master all five of his alt. Modes, he started on the path that would lead him to become Master V. In an attempt to find an inner balance, he set about learning all of his mysterious alt. Modes one by one.

Wood Runner - the first mode he mastered, was a quadruped land animal, similar to a wolf. This was the start of a period of growth for master v, as he took root in his own potential, like a young seedling.

Laser Shot - the second mode represented all the fire, energy and potential inside him. The was the most dangerous of all his modes to master, and also the hardest to control.

Dirt Driller - his tank mode signalled a period of transition, learning to harvest the power inside himself with moderation, as he learned to live in balance with the earth and world around him.

Air Strike - learning to harvest all of the power inside himself and mastering the mysterious metal element, he learned how to hone his body into a jet mode. The culmination of all of his energy.

Aqua Force - finally, in his boat mode, he attained total equilibrium. Mastering stillness and quiet, he became a true sage of the five elements.

Within a year, he had mastered all five of his modes and had achieved an inner equilibrium. No longer conflicted, he thanked the villagers, promising to return one day after he had bought balance to the planet. Where before there had been only chaos and the rule of the fist, now there would be a new law, his law. Mad law.

Preordered on sight. Very suprised its part of the function x line. I guess the lines are designated by the designer rather than as groups such as combiners or headmasters.

Nice! I'm pleased with this new trend of putting up preorders only when the final figure is ready to be shipped. It's much less waiting.

He looks pretty cool to me!

Think this is the ugliest toy I've seen in a long time. Think it's more ugly looking than the HasTak 1988 Quickswitch toy.

Don't like any of the alt modes. Looks like the space jet mode and tank modes borrowed from the Power Rangers Space jet and Tank modes.

No thanks, Think this thing looks so terrible, I wouldn't even buy it as the Hasbro USA $20 to $24 retail store prices.

Think the $105 price for a 3rd party FP Quickswitch Voyager toy seems a bit high. When most 3rd party Voyager combiners are selling for around $74 to $85. Also some 3rd party leader sized toys are selling for under $115.

Sorry, I meant as it when it is shipped to sellers. I'm under no illusion that we might be getting this in Feb.

Maybe that'll be one of the freebies for joining their club last year...?

Okay, that's probably stretching things a bit considering price of the club and price of this figure alone.

Sixknight may be the offspring of Sixshot, or was that Quickswitch? Quickswitch was briefly in one of the final episodes of the American G1 cartoon. Sixknight was in Supergod Masterforce, the second in the Japanese Trilogy. You can check out his bio at TFWiki, or click on the Quickswitch link above, but I warn you, his original toy was beaten with an ugly stick!

The coloring of the FP bot appears to be closer to Quickswitch.

(And the son of Sixshot info only comes from one of the toy commercials for Quickswitch. I don't believe there has been any other mention of a relationship. Though familial relationships in Transformers have been a weird concept anyway...)

[Edit] Oh, size wise, he should be about the same size as the FP Headmasters, at least according to the Japanese Animation models. At least the cartoons made him look a lot less ugly. I don't know if it is the wings off the back of his head or the whole pelvic region...

I don't recall Quickqwitch being in "The Rebirth". His toy came out after the G1 american cartoon had ended. Maybe you're thinking of the Headmasters cartoon ? Ive never made it past the first couple episodes of the Headmasters because the ridiculous story lines and horrible voice actors that all sound the same in the English dub.
