Looking at this picture with the brighter purple, this design just screams voyager versus MP. Would have been a great classics figure. Oh well, more money for FP's Menasor!

In these set of photos I would guess someone has tinted the testshot blue into the bright purple we see now. Look at his laser arm/hand, the barrel/hand is silver in one and violet in the other! :lol:

I think it will be a darn shame if Hasbro get their giant hands out again as this 3rd party company are only trying to cater to fans wants which Hasbro have yet to meet.
At least The original Shockwave design wasnt theirs to start with [citation needed] so I would hope this guy makes it to the stores? :???:

Fanstoys actually have plans to do the purple hands/blaster... They are currently asking which ones folks like.

If Hasbro screws them over and makes an MP Shockwave, Fans Toys can always shrink the mold dowm to voyager size and make a ton of money without taking much losses.

SOLD. The legs look great painted up. That is a very decent price for a third party Masterpiece. Also, I didn't notice how small Acoustic Wave was till now. The official Soundwave is bigger than what FT had. For a Masterpiece collector, this is damn near perfect.

And yeah, Kapow are pretty expensive for some things. Is usually cheaper for me to order from the US and pay shipping on a bulk order, or pricier items.

This dude looks pretty nice, but he's maybe too gigantic for me. Voyager-ish, even a large Voyager, for $100-$150 and I'd probably bite.

I still like my G1 better. I've yet to see any design ever beat the G1 design. This is an easy pass. Albeit decent and would be a fantastic Classics fig but not 200 dollar decent. Forget it. [-(

I got an email today that had an advertisement for this guy setting the price at $150 and included a couple pics (that we've seen a few posts earlier in the thread).

RobotKingdom said they won't be carrying it because the toy is too close to the G1 design. However, they offered to get it personally, as in not through the site, for $149 before shipping. The official Masterpiece Soundwave is currently up for $159 so it is a Masterpiece sized toy for less than same sized Masterpiece toys.

At some point perhaps, although I think the design for Shockwave is actually held by a different company? I could be wrong on that.

However RobotKingdom (and most likely BBTS) isn't carrying this because they order straight from Hasbro, which other sites such as Automoton, CapturedPrey and, if you wish to believe the rumours, TFSource who get their stock through other suppliers. Thus RK and BBTS need to maintain the best relationship they can with Hasbro.

Or it's strictly a bunisess decision and they don't forsee the sales figures for a $150+ figure that's in a scale only a subset of collectors will buy.

It's a shame to see Robotkingdom sucking up to Hasbro. I can understand the US based dealers, but not Chinese based. They used to sell CHMS stuff. Really pathetic on the part of Robotkingdom. Oh well, I wasnt gonna buy it anyways.

I actually feel kind abad for the Fanstoys people. Things are not going their way at all. But my pity will not make me pick this figure up. I collect the Classics series and this dude's just too big!

well this made me bite the bullet and customise Energon Shockblast like so many have done before me.

Fantoys should have rescaled their Acoustic Wave figure and should do the same with this one. I feel bad for them that they keep getting gazumped by Hasbro (kinda ironic, I know) Is there any way to contact them to ask about the viability of this figure as a Voyager class?

I wish he was just a little taller, so his eye would be at the top of Optimus's head and I wish he came with a miniature version of his altmode as an included gun. Those minor gripes aside, I must have it.

If it's really retailing for $150 US then I anticipate many of us will buy it, even if it doesn't scale well with our Classics lines.
