An American baby.

KSC: Those Star Wars Fans are nuts. On the one side I can see it, some people like to collect everything (we have tons of completists). But that's a little excessive when it comes down to such minute details. I ,for one, like to get the best version of only the figures I like, unless I like it enough to warrant buying more than one deco.

Remember the movie colors were meant to show off the vehicle modes as far as the cars are concerned. So for thier purpose in the movie I think their color schemes work great. If they were designs that had nothing to do with the movie then I would say they stink.

But I would embrace any G1 colors assigned to these designs after the movie is out. I still have to buy the movie toys. I have Bonecrusher and Bumblebee and that is it until payday tomorrow.

As long as they are not all neon colors like some toys were colored in other lines I will not complain.

I haven't seen even ONE movie figure I've liked enough yet to warrant purchasing.

But now, butt-fugly head sculpting aside, this is one I will definitely purchase.
It IS Jazz... well, Jazz after he's been smashed in the face by a crowbar... but that's what customization is for.

I'll likely end up frankensteining an oldschool G1 or Alternators head onto him somehow.

You're probably right.

I don't really like the Jazz mould for a few reasons, mainly the lame arms and his 'I'm-wearing-snowpants' legs (a little too bulky for me). Nonetheless, I'd still pick up this figure if he hits general retail; he'll be my Classics Jazz after a little bit of customizing.

For the record, the G1 Jazz repaint is NOT the "Final Battle" Jazz. Final Battle Jazz is some kind of battle-damaged movie Jazz, the one we saw on the back of a package.

I cant say im that fond of it personally. The paint scheme doesnt suit that type of car. Its a road going convertable, not a race car. I dont think it looks all that great to be honest, and id rather the original.

Get the original G1 Jazz, then get the Alt Jazz, then get this Jazz and if you are smart enough buy an alt smokescreen and buy a porche model kit and make your own kitbash and be happy. Instead of all these re-paints lets just have more new exciting and cool characters? This isnt G1 anymore so i wish people would stop begging for movie characters to be g1-erfied.

Well, since the Movie is starring G1 characters, it makes sense. If they were totally different characters I'd agree with you, but until they stop using G1 names I think we're always going to see these repaints.

This is the topic. Last i checked its about re-painted transformers so....

The new designs dont suit transformers? How so and why? Because they arent made out of bricks, or they dont shrink from a 40 foot robot into a human hand held tape deck when they transfrom? Or because their transformations are actually realistic and make sense and actually look like something that could exsist in real life and look awesome and thus doesnt suit transformers?

Let me guess you are another one of these movie haters. When will you people get over the fact that this isnt a re-hashed 80's cartoon and get over it?!

As a car customiser, these paint schemes dont work for these types of real world cars. And since many bots bot modes still retain many aspects of their alt modes then the paint schemes also dont suit the new generation of characters.

So am i to assume that everyone here wants 80's paint schemes on 2007, revamped, new generation transformers?

Thats rather lame. A repaint on an alt to make them a different character is fine. A repaint on MP Screamer to his proper colors is fine. Painting prime black is fine, but enough of this "lets make the new generation of transformers like the 80's versions" stuff is getting silly!

Move on with the times, keep up or get left behind.

 That's not what I'm getting at. If you don't like these Jazz and Starscream figures, that's fine. But that won't stop them from coming out, nor will it preven those of us who do like them and have been asking for the figures to be painted like their namesakes from getting these figures.

Except for the names, storylines, likenesses and in some case, voices.

The story is not G1.

The names have been used multiple times, they aren't G1 exclusive.

They don't look like G1.

and Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are only in the movie so the Geewunners won't totally condemn the movie

It's all based on and inspired by G1, which has been the case with nearly every TF series except Beast Wars.

*shrug*

Well, if the rest of that is okay, I don't see a problem with a simple G1-colored repaint.
