Well, if the rest of that is okay, I don't see a problem with a simple G1-colored repaint.

Exactly. It's a nice middle ground: movie designs, oldschool colours. No harm in that. If you don't like them, there's no need to buy them.

i don't agree with that. cullen is most recognizable as op.. and if you say that g1 fans would condemn the movie, then they would have to use frank welker as megs, but they didn't.
and most "g1'ers" are excited about the movie, but just picky, because we had this movie in our hearts for 20 years now, so understand where some frustration comes from vp

With all due respect, us "g1'ers" had our fanboy movie in 1986. This is a new franchise, it isnt G1 and the film is only using the most famous characters because they are what makes Transformers Transformers. Just like popular characters return for parts in certain movies because without them the movie wouldnt BE what it claims to be.

Like the terminator for example. A terminator movie without any terminators wouldnt be a terminator movie now would it, and thus wouldnt be able to bear its own name.

Its hard to explain, but hopefully you get what i mean.

Bottom line this isnt G1 anymore, and hasnt been for close to 20 years now, so as someone once said: Embrace the transformation

then why repaint the movie toys to be g1, and why use familiar g1 voices? why not completely transform (like bw or the like), not just use snip-its? it's either that or take it back to the roots. set the movie in the 80's..
i mean, i don't know.. that's why i'm asking

Hey Guys, I actually figured out a few codes. I forwarded them in e-mails to heads of this site, if they don't post them here's the info

"Wow, It's me again.
I've actually figured out a few codes on Target's Robovision site.

Allspark - Unlocks the first trailer of the video game, it's extended and has more footage.

Sector7 - Unlocks and exclusive screen saver.

That's all I coudl think of/ figure out."

I found more here's an update:
Wow, It's me again.
I've actually figured out a few codes on Target's Robovision site.

Allspark - Unlocks the first trailer of the video game, it's extended and has more footage.

Sector7 - Unlocks and exclusive screen saver.

Rollout - A animation of their transforming gifts cards.

Freedom - Animation of Roboeyes Optimus Prime being transformed.

Sentient - Secret levels for the onliine allspark game.

I figured these out using taglines from the movie. Here are one's that don't work;
Transform
Protect
Destroy
Autobot
Decepticon
Cybertron

It was quite easy. I hope Seibertron posts my findings.

Now I have, the one's I didn't figure out on my own.

Yeah some of the stuff is REALLY nice.
It's a shame we don't have Target here in Canada, the Robovision Optimus Prime they're selling looks really good.

I'll deffinately be using those codes when I get the game.
And The Screen Saver is already loaded.

Thanks for posting the link to the rest. I would of never guessed them.

I didn't see that you were in Canada (I'll be there Monday!). If you want any Target Exclusives, sometimes hit up the For Sale Section. I've picked up exclusives for some members at cost.

And the figures have been given a second paintjob to also not piss off us "geewhunners" as you put it.

SO, you get your live action movie along with it's figures...
...but we don't get OUR live action movie we've wanted.
Just a couple repaints of your figures.

You win, so why pick on us?

Anyway, the "realistically-colored" movie figures are quite blah looking in my opinion.
It's nice seeing them in something more colorfully pleasing and familiar.

Though while recoloring SAVES the Jazz figure enough to warrant purchase, it doesn't save the pinched-turd headed Arcee figure.
Seriously, the designer of that head needs a boot to the balls.

As a car customiser, these paint schemes dont work for these types of real world cars. And since many bots bot modes still retain many aspects of their alt modes then the paint schemes also dont suit the new generation of characters.

So am i to assume that everyone here wants 80's paint schemes on 2007, revamped, new generation transformers?

Despite being unrealistic, this repaint Jazz looks a lot better than dull grey Jazz. And I think many people would rather have a fun looking toy than a realistic looking toy.

Jazz's G1 color scheme has rarely been seen other than the reissue. The only other time in recent years that aren't statues is the Spychanger Jazz. G1 colored Starscreams have been overdone. G1 colored Jazzs haven't. G1 colored Ratchets haven't been overdone either.

So allow us to enjoy our G1 colored Jazz.

Also, there have been mentions of G1 skins in the Transformers movie game. I assume its referring to these repaints than the actual G1 designs.

Yeah i second that! I have been waiting for a nice Jazz like this. I think all the G1 paint schemes were really good and well thought out at the time, they simply rock, not like all that corny neon **** that came after. Does anyone know when this will hit the stores or is it still months and months away?

Um, why can't we have out own opinions. And you are completely wrong about the paint jobs on Modern vehicles, that's actually becoming quite popular on new cars.

But what do I know about car customizing...

Oh yea,

Oh yea, I also got asked to lend one of my cars to a little movie called "The Fast and the Furious", but I said no, cause I would have been without it for 6 months.

Then surely you would notice that on a stock car, these custom paint jobs do not work. Maybe with an added bodykit, race car spoiler and rims yeah, like the original jazz alt mode, but on a stock pontiac solstice that race car paint job simply doesnt work.

Well done on the car thing, but id need to see some pictures and proof before i beleive that. You can understand my doubts when i see someone with so much succes with cars spending their time moderating a transformers forum.
