Take a look at Scourge's mode of sexiness and I ask you who you think this could work as? Autobot? Bounty Hunter?

The hints say that "three of the characters are getting their first updates ever". Now if there's more than three figures in the set then it's entirely possible this could be an Ultra Magnus as nothing has said that this is one of the three.

It's not Ultra Magnus. He's received an updated character already. And, if I'm not mistaken, there has always been five figures in the main set plus a few other exclusives like a souvenir figure.
Since 2005, that is.Blackstreak wrote:And, if I'm not mistaken, there has always been five figures in the main set plus a few other exclusives like a souvenir figure.

Only thing that comes to my mind is Unicron. But how could they do a Unicron toy as a BotCon exclusive, unless they repaint the Cybertron deluxe mold. Maybe in Energon black colors to match Scourge. Or of course they resurrect the BWNeo mold.![]()
Windsweeper wrote:If it were the alternate head from Generation's G2 Prime's instructions, I'd love it to be Powertrain or Ironworks, neither of which have been updated before.
In fact, going by the MTMTE profile or tech specs, Iron Works runs the Long Range Communications Bay. Perhaps he picks up a signal from the 'legend' mentioned and it turns out to be Countdown who's called a legend in his various profiles. It would be nice except for the mention of not previously updated toys excludes Countdown.
If it were Micromaster themed, Windcharger repainted as Black Jack would be nice.

I don't get how they can be advertising for a convention already, when there is no date or location set? This is a bit ridiculous. I just want to know if I can actually include this convention into my con list for 2012...

Er, *ahem*. Sorry, I was '90s Kid for Halloween.![]()
Anyway. I just thought of an idea who fits the description of most of all of this.
"An enemy thought defeated" - he was defeated
If you're 80's fan... - he was in the 80s cartoon
"Three of the characters are getting their first updates ever" - he technically had a G1 toy, but no real update of his own.
"The set is not TFA" - he was in G1.
"The "MUST HAVE" figure is one of the characters getting their first update ever" - again, he's never had a true update of himself.
And he's an Optimus Prime lookalike like this image.
Drum roll, please...
The Optimus Prime clone from "A Prime Problem"!
Animated Blitzwing is considered by Hasbro to be an updated figure of the Blitzwing character. That's why there was a Classics Astrotrain and a Universe Tankor (Octane) but no such treatment for G1 Blitzwing. The Lost Seeker wrote:What do you guys think about Blitzwing for the 80s must have? His only redo was for the animated series. There was no classic Blitzwing even though there was two Astrotrians. It would be a welcome addition to the ridiculuos amount of cars and seekers. Also there has not been a hasbro or takara reissue of Reflector it doesnt get more 80s then them. Dont forget about the insecticons either the famous three have never been redone by hasbro/takara.
Toy-wise: True. In general: G1 created the Sentinel Prime character. Several versions of G1 Sentinel Prime include:The Lost Seeker wrote:there was never a G1 Sentinel
GoBots is a possibility, but at the same time, isn't that kinda the obvious route?xyl360 wrote:I haven't seen/read anything so far to indicate that any of the Botcon toys are going to actually be G1 or even from the Transformers line at all, so I theorize that it will indeed be the Gobots this time around and that G2 Laser Prime is going to be recolored as Staks.
BTW, wasn't Cy-Kill defeated loooooong ago in the comics in the arena...by Megatron?
Not sure how they would do a Sixshot, since they can only use existing figures and not many nowadays have six modes... unless he'd be Sixshot in name only.starwarrior1227 wrote:i was born in 1996 and only got into tfs during cybertron and the live action films. while i do have a good knowledge of past generations of tfs i honestly don't have a clue.(i am hoping for a spinister and/ or chrome dome. maybe even sixshot!)
And i am still super hyped for the figures!

Yep, which is exactly why I think that's what they're doing. They say this will be one of the most sought after sets ever, and a Gobots themed set has been requested for a long time now and all the pieces seem to fit as to what they've said so far (including what they haven't said, like that even though it's from the "80's", they never said G1. Gobots is indeed something all of us that grew up with TF's during G1/the 80's would be well aware of.Sabrblade wrote:GoBots is a possibility, but at the same time, isn't that kinda the obvious route?
The Faux Rage! BC Newsflash... We are doing RID Scourge for BotCon 2012...
is what a LOT of people are thinking based on the ad that is in the current issue of Transformers Timelines Issue 6.
However, it is still a BIT early to discuss the theme for 2012. That and location will be available as absolutely soon as we can announce.
All that said, whoever we are doing are characters Hasbro is NOT planning on doing. So, there is no need for any rage...
Back to toys. The character seen in the ad? He isn't even the "best"... Two others in the set rock even more!
