Right so looking at that....

Excavator (Demolsiher) turns upside down and small Cement Mixer parks ontop of it, the shovel arms hook up to the two bots forming Devs arms and the Bulldozer/Dump truck stick on as legs.

Looks cool though its a shame they couldnt make Vehcile + Bot + Combine transformers. Feels kinda lame that they need to make 2 versions.

Who said the Fallen is leading the cons? For all we know it was the Decepticons who betrayed the fallen (some backstabbing underling) and he wants revenge on them.

Too many people just assume theyre trying to go back to the beginning and rewrite G1 but this is a whole new continuity. I mean Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide etc have been missing from most of the newer series but noones complained, those G1 mainstays were reintroduced mostly through the movie yet noone says 'thank you Michael Bay for bringing back old favourites'. And id rather have this version of Devastator than 'Constructicon Maximus' we had to put up with in Armada.

THIS IS GOING TO BE THE WORST TF MOVIE EVER!!!!! I don't know what else I can look forward to now. TF2 sux!

To me it doesn't matter personally how "The Fallen" should look. He shouldn't be in the movie period! I know this isn't supposed to be "G1 live action movie series" but the whole point of making a live Action TF movie is to cater to the G1 crowd IMO. We're talking about a character that was introduced in a very short lived comic book by a short lived company.

I did read the first series of War Within but missed the rest. I don't mind them making up robots like Blackout and barricade, and I don't mind the redesigns (after all any true TF fan would be used to them after all the cartoon series they made!)but to make such a big deal to put an obscure comic book character into a movie when they don't even have other G1 favorites like the Dinobots in yet, and supposively no Megatron in the movie, well thats just ridiculous IMO. Does anyone even care about the fact taht "The fallen" is in the movie?

Hell why don't we just start a **** petition to put the Mini-cons in the next movie since they are equally as unimportant to the TF Universe as the Fallen [/sarcasm]

Wow, I'm floored! It really is that hard for everybody to wrap their brains around this whole movie-verse. Let me make this really simple for folks. For all intents and purposes "the Fallen" is just a name.
It is shared by a TF comic character from a past series but so are all the other names and the similarities END THERE! The rest of the fans are reading more into this than what there really is and is going to be based on their own selfish assumptions! This is not OUR movie and it damn sure is NEVER going to be like G1 SO STOP MAKING THE CORRELATIONS BIGGER THAN WHAT THEY ARE. I wouldn't get so upset if it weren't for the fact that so many folks are feeding a monster of their own creation and then letting it out to crap on everyone else's lawn! I wish we had never been given a live action movie because instead of everyone being apprecative after all these years it has turned the once peaceful and half-way neighborly fan community into a farce and a showcase of whiny, selfish 5 year olds in grown-up bodies. If it looks this way to somone on the inside who has some semblance of understanding, imagine how it looks to outsiders.
Michael Bay hasn't turned Transformers to crap, the fans have! I hope those of you responsible are proud of your accomplishment and enjoy your narrow-mindedness.

its fun to act like you smarter than every one too but no one else is doing it.i dont care if he is or isnt the leader hes still going to have a big role in a movie he has no business being in. and devestator is just ugly. his legs are just too small for that big body. and bays wheel feet and chest head crap isnt going over well with me either. and constructicon maximus was from energon.

couldnt make it anymore worse than it already is. good thing you put the [/sarcasm]at the end becuase bay might take that into consideration!

Armada, Energon, Ninja Storm, whatever, they all blur into one for me anyway.

All im saying is theres no point kicking and screaming in a temper tantrum cos you dont like how its shaping up. It doesnt matter what they did, in some way someone would not be happy. Its impossible to please everyone. If they tried to do a scene for scene, word for word live action remake of the 86 movie then the G1 purists would be happy but it would still get picked apart cos 'something isnt quite right'. (Like getting half the original VA's back from the dead for a start)

Give it a chance. I personally have never been much of a Comic fan so i know even less about the fallen than most here but im willing to step back and enjoy the story for what it is.

The only thing im worried about is if the Fallen is used to introduce Unicron, because you know with current trends Bigger is better and after Devastator theres not much of a middle ground before you get to planet sized and personally im getting tired of the 'everything has to do with Unicron' arcs that the tv series tend to take.

Also, again personally im GLAD megs may not be in this one. If the main badguy just gets backup after being put down then whats the point putting him down in the first place. It completely negates the risk of combining a spark with the Allspark that prime tried to establish (ie it would be suicide). And dont mention Galvatron. I dont want to see him without a damn good reason and a major form change. A repaint does not make someone more powerfull.....unless your a Saiyan.

I really don't have a problem with it, I'm sure I'll love the movie either way any which way, I watch movies to be entertained, not to have something to dissect, seems like that's what some people like doing.

For example, I loved "The Happening", lot of people didn't, some say because it was far fetched or what not, well, it is a movie, it doesn't have to necessarily have to make perfect sense, at least not IMO. There's lots of movies I like that I see others not liking or hating, and it's usually because they either dissect it or because they get all hyped up and get let down.

I shouldn't even come to this forum, because I don't want to be hyped up too much on the movie, I wasn't hyped up at all with the first and I loved it.

See, what happens is, you see trailers and bits & pieces of a movie, you then fill in the missing blanks of what you're not seeing with your imagination in accordance with what you like. You then go see the movie with expectations that are based on your preferences, and see something either fairly different, or very different and get let down. Hope that makes sense.

Very, very rarely do I go to a movie being hyped up and leave there feeling that it lived up to the hype that was made and that I made, why I don't like being hyped up. I think there was 1 time I can think of that I was, might of been with Spider-Man 3, not sure, probably though.

I went and saw the movie "Push" earlier today, loved it, I'll probably buy it when it comes out on DVD (or rent off of PayPerView and get on tape). I think I saw 1 short preview of that movie twice and that was it, I knew hardly anything else about it other than a few people having powers and the only power I knew about was the telekinesis and force pushing (like Jedi force push). Anyway, I loved it, had some good music in it too, it was def. better than I thought it would be, and that's mostly due to the fact I hardly knew anything about it. For the record also, I hardly knew anything about that movie either, "The Happening".

I have my bitches and gripes, but I loved the first movie so much that I literally wore it out. I probably watched it a good 26 times, to the point where I'll start nitpicking on things even more just because I"m sick of watching it. First movie I've worn out since I was a kid.

Just because I ranted about the Fallen being in the movie, doesn't mean I'm going to boycott TF2! I'll probably be buying IMAX tickets in advance and I'll probably be seeing it on opening weekend (I'd see it opening day but with my work schedule, thats impossible!)

I'm not opposed to the new designs, though I completly disagree with Micheal Bay that their original "blocky" forms would look fake and unrealistic in the real world. I mean yes they would require subtle changes to make sure all the parts line up, but the Alternator and Masterpiece toy series prove how good a real world cartoon based Transformer could look. Bay should of just came out and its his movie he's going to use his designs instead of ripping apart the G1 cartoons.

But I still think the die hard TF fans have every right to bitch and nitpick about this movie series. Problem is hollywood ruins everything. They can never get anything right. Instead of following a simple laid out plot right in front of them "oh no we gotta make it better". IMO it worked out for Transformers, but other movies suffered like Doom and Mario Bros. Those are the 2 best examples of how hollywood screws up everything!

Only Movie adaptation ever done right was Mortal Kombat. While it was kinda cheesey, they nearly stuck to the concept and storyline of Mortal Kombat to a tee!

I see people saying that others are drawing conclusions they can't, yet they too draw conclusions before the movie is out. I think the best is to wait for the release and see, but everyone has the right to have an opinion and share it. The real bad thing in this issue is when some people want others to "shut up" because they don't agree. BTW, I'm not saying this to the one quoted, I'm just adding my opinion .

Anyway, I'm a G1 fan and it's what I most like in the Transformers universe, but I'm happy with both the live action movies (looking forward for the new one) and especially with the Animated series, I really loved it and I'm looking forward to season 3 in antecipation! I think it's great to expand the Transformers universe. Still one must agree that the disapointment of many G1 fans (I must include myself in this to a degree) is that we had a dream for something else than what is being done. I think that should be respected as well. I myself had that dream and feel sad the movies are not what I really wanted, but still I like them and support them. Let us just not be fundamentalist and let us respect each others opinions.

The Transformers are a great thing and should unit us all. Till all are one!

I'd be lieing to myself and everyone else if i Didn't say I was disgusted with those designs when they first appeared a year before the 2007 movie was released. When I first saw Optimus's flame painted truck mode I nearly fainted. But when I saw the movie in the theatre I couldn't complain.

I'm not only a fan of transformers I'm also a sports fan. And as I sports fan I mean Indianapolis Colts fan. I live and die by the Colts, but You bet I'm gonna bitch about things. When they lost to San Diego I bitched. I bitched about the fact that the running game was bad all season yet the Coach, Owner, and GM said it was fine, and sure enough it was the reason they lost their first playoff game. Does it mean I'm just going to boycott the team next year because of it? Hell no. I live and die by my team.

Transformers is no different. I'll be honest. While I enjoyed the movie, I hated Armada, Energon, and Cybertron. I hated the horrible little kid pokemon anime crap. I was completly disgusted with it to be honest. I had my fair share of bitching on the message boards, and I stand by that. IF your a fan of something you have every damn right to complain IMO. And on that note Fallen doesn't desrve to be in this movie just as much as Minicons shouldn't have been in Armada!

The way I see it if you just go along with every single freakin idea whether it be a sports team, a music group, or hell a 1980's toyline/cartoon series, then your nothing more than a tool.

The biggest problem we have here isn't whether folks go along with every idea, it's the arrogant a**holes that think an idea shouldn't exist PERIOD just because they happen to disagree with it!
I'm not fond of Transformers Animated but I never sh** all over the idea of it because of it. I, unlike so many others out there, understand that this (the entire Transformers) toy/cartoon/movie/etc. series HAS to change because there is are businesses being supported by it. Most of us won't like the changes but there is no piont complaining about it because WE CANT STOP IT! If we try and manage to succeed, then the businesses die and we have effectively cut our own throats. We would be responsible for killing any chance of seeing what we once loved come back around again. Why is this concept so hard for people to grasp? Is everyone out there that damn dense???

More to the point, if anyone doesn't like the Movieverse, then they don't have to see the movies. They don't have to buy the toys. No-one's putting guns to your heads.

And as we all know, as soon as the second movie line's over, there'll be another line to take its place. In the meantime, we've still got Masterpiece Grimlock, the Alternity line, and who-knows-what else to tide us over. So even if you're not a fan of the movie stuff, it's not like you don't have any alternative.

And let's not forget, the first movie was a HUGE success. I think I'm right in thinking that the first film had the biggest opening weekend of ANY non-sequel in the entire history of cinema!

So of course Bay wants to recreate the success of the first film - even improve on it if he can. A couple of hundred self-important nay-sayers are by far outnumbered by the millions who will watch and enjoy ROTF.

Bay's not making a film for us. He's not pitching it at the loyal fanbase. His aim is to make a film for the general public. Because, after all, that's where the money is. And if the general public want Bayformers (which would seem to be the case), then that's what they'll get.

And rightly so.

It's all very well having a bad opinion of the Movieverse, but witless, hateful, antagonising rants to that effect are not helpful. It's possible to have alternative viewpoints and be reasonable too, not that you'd realise it around here at the moment.

Lets see if we can string a few decent posts in a row.

T-Mack and Starfish both have it correct, not right, because that is subjective and it's clear how subjective this thread has been.

Michael Bay has done nothing personal to or against any of you, he has made a movie. A movie designed around a francise that exists to make money by selling toys and other goods.

You don't like the designs? Then don't worry about them, say your piece and move on.

You are going to boycott the movie? (which I predict the majority of you that say you won't, will actually go and see it) You don't have to go to the movie if you feel that strongly, sit at home while the rest of us watch it and then judge it on the merits of the completed project.

You refuse to buy and merch from the movie? I doubt Hasbro will be that worried as kids (yes children, you know, the target range for most of the transformer products) will gobble them up. Wave after wave of the first movie came out and the store found people willing to pay for them. The same will occur again.

To go with the comment about sports from Cormaster, being a fan means taking the good with the bad. You'll never always agree with things done by owners and general managers, you'll second guess the coachs plans, or question why a draft pick from a couple years back was spent on a guy who has never played a game while a guy picked after him is racking up points for a rival team. For the better and the future of the francise as a whole, so we can look forward to the 30, 40, 50th anniversary of the line, we'll need high profile pieces like the movies to capture the imagination of others and bring them into the fold. Sure their idea of Optimus Prime, Megatron or the Constructicons may not be yours, but if you listen to a kid watching Animated, or someone who cut their teeth on Beast Wars, RID, AEC or the first Bay Movie you can hear the same kind of wonderment that I remember from being a kid when I won tickets for the original movie, or a friend got Jetfire, or the kid in class who was first to complete a combiner.

Things change, not always for the best, but because change is the only constant. And history has never been kind to those who try to resist it.

My appologies to everyone else for coming across so harshly. It's been frustrating feeling like I've been talking to a brick wall for so long. I, of all people due to my studies, should know that you cannot force a person down the path of enlightenment. They must discover it on their own but we can all be grateful for those we meet along the path because we all learn from each other along the way.
