Jeebus - a teeny head swap, and Animated Arcee could actually be used as Classics Arcee, also! :D I NEED THAT FIG!

Not too fond of Roddy's no-nosed look, but I'm still getting both Roddy and Arcee.

Thanks for the photos of these Animated toys, Seibertron! Totally worth the wait. I'm liking everything I see of the new molds. Wish they could have shown Blackout and Thundercracker too.

These I'd imagine are the Animated toys that will be released as part of Universe?

He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

Well... whether not you call it Universe 3.0.. Botcon confirms that there will be continuation of the Universe/Classics line in the near future (2010). These Animated toys are under the Animated brand name as well.

Thanks for these great photos!

I'll be getting Arcee and Rodimus for sure. Even though neither is perfect.

Arcee very badly needs a G1 repaint like Shockwave. That reddish-magenta doesn't work well for me. And the car mode is a little disappointing, but at least it's a step in the right direction. And I hope those ugly spoilers are removable.

Are those RotF glyphs on her windshield? They're on the Jazz repaint, too. Are they slapping on glyphs to tie these into the film-craze? That would be ridiculous. No...I do not like that at all.

Anyway, despite all that, almost-Arcee will grace my shelves.

These are just prototypes still, and will probably still see some changes and touch-ups before they reach full production. As for the carvings on the windshields, those look like ID numbers carved into them.

Hasbro has been known to deface their prototypes to prevent them from being stolen and sold on ebay or what have you. Though it doesn't really work.

But these definitely don't look like Movie glyphs just ID numbers. Probably they have a few prototypes and have to keep track of them.

I can assure you the carvings will not be there in the final products.

Yeah, I know they're prototypes. But I'll bet that magenta color is final.

I can see the numbers now that you mention it. That's a big relief, as I wouldn't put it beyond Hasbro to do something like that. Thanks for pointing that out.

About Rodimus, his name was spoken as and credited as simply "Rodimus" in "TransWarped".

However, his TFCC Magazine bio (which is official and was written by the Animated staff) came out first, before "TransWarped" first aired on TV. It was here that his name was first stated as "Rodimus Prime".

Plus, the Animated cartoon clearly stated that those who command teams are at the rank of Prime.

It is the toy that messed up the name. Whereas it should have been "Rodimus Prime", the toy has been labeled as "Rodimus Minor".

I believe this mistake was due to the confusion of his altmode's appearance. His altmode is designed after G1 Hot Rod, instead of G1 Rodimus Prime. This however, shouldn't affect his name, as his character has already been established as a Prime.

Besides, one's look doesn't always affect their name. Take a look at Energon Downshift. He's the spittin' image of G1 Wheeljack, yet his name's not "Wheeljack", it's "Downshift" (and the show even called him "Cliffjumper" more often than "Downshift").

All in all, "Rodimus Minor" is the wrong name for this figure, as he's supposed to be "Rodimus Prime" despite the look of his altmode.

Good that Classics/U2.0 will resume at some point (presumably after ROTF is done). Also happy these guys are under the Animated banner. Not that I'd have much problem with an "animated series" in the U2.0...it's just these guys should be Animated.
