Yeah, and that wall was covered in text all pointing at the end of the world. Likewise, the game takes place in 2012, and the Templar intend on launching their satellite in only a few months.

I did not know that. I guess Desmond better start working on those assassination skills if he's going to prevent the end of the world. He knows how to steal pens from people's pockets and hack emails; so I guess that's a start.

You've got to start small and work your way up.

Saints row 2
Pissed off the Samedi and they responded by attempting to kill me and then launching a full assault on my gang's hideout. I bravely fought them all off... while high! Drugs and driving are never a good combination, especially for pedestrians. After that, had some more serious action occur with the other 2 gangs. The brotherhood responded to my nuclear tattoo prank by tying one of my liutenants to their truck and dragging him around town. I rescued him but he was too damaged to be saved so I had to perform a mercy killing. The ronin, similarly angry with me, held my friend's girlfriend hostage. Before the trap could be sprung, she warned us, costing her life. My friend was seriously injured during the fight as well and we had to escape the ronin while rushing him to the hospital.

The Conduit
Started the game. In the present, fought through a tutorial level against the drudge, ending with me stepping through a conduit. cut to 5 days earlier as I'm inducted by a shadow government group called the trust to assist in an airport protection mission, only to find all the other trust soldiers now working for a terrorist named prometheus. After surviving that mission, was sent to Prometheus's underground bunker.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Started the game. Joker escaped, gordon was captured, and so were a bunch of doctors. I escaped the deepest levels, rescued the doctors, knocked out Harley Quinn, rescued Gordon, had a tussle with Bane, then escaped to go rest at my secondary Batcave. Whew... There was also a battle with Scarecrow which may or may not have been real. :-?

Lunia [PC]:
Made some new characters. A Bounty Hunter called Kerensky and a Templar called PrimalScream.
Got my main, Kuritan, to Level 73 and got her a great set of items. She now can regen HP and Mana and does life steal, or something like it.

Alliance of Valiant Arms [Closed Beta] [PC]:
Well, well, well. An ijji game that doesn't suck. It's about damn time.

Modern military, great atmosphere, good voices, good sounds, realistic weapons, physics, Unreal 3 Engine, ability to get permanent items with in-game money... Shaping up to be a winner.

Got my character, CousinNiko, to the Rank of Private, bought him an AK-47 for Red Army Alpha Male Genetic Superiority. Closed Beta ends tonight, so that's it for him.

GTA IV [PC]:
Met Liz and Pat, did the first job for Liz, got Brucie to give me helicopter rides.

Which is a long way to go until you reach "Stopping an entire corporation from conquering and/or destroying the world." I mean, the game takes place in September 2012, and half the crap on that wall pointed towards, what else, December 2012. He's got three months to turn from an Average Joe bartender into Agent 47 meets Solid Snake.

Left 4 Dead:
Earned the achievements "Crash Proof" (Complete Crash Course) "Quick Power" (Restart the generator within 30 seconds of it turning off) and "Do Not Disturb" (No one disturbs the Witch).

Saints Row
Completed another round of TrailBlazing diversions, earning myself a 15% resistance to explosions. Whee!
Story-wise, things are getting harsh. In response to the Brotherhood killing my lieutenant, I kidnapped the brotherhood leader's girlfriend, tossed her into the trunk of her car, and then left the car at a monster truck rally. Guess what happened next. The fact that her boyfriend was driving the monster truck that killed her was a bit of sweet revenge. Also attempted to assassinate the Ronin's leader but their guys saw me coming and evacuated him out the back. Next time...

Final Fantasy X:
Decided to go back and get some of the extra stuff. By accident, I ended up becoming quite proficient at Blitzball. (Jecht Shot = Win) Ifrit now has the damage limit broken, though he's not quite at Shiva's level yet. (Last time I used her she was dealing 99999 damage) Now I'm working towards the Magus Sisters, Tidus's fourth limit break, and fully powering Wakka's Celestial weapon.

PainKiller: Battle out of Hell
Started playing through this expansion pack. First thing I noticed is that the cut-scenes were done by different Animators. Jack looks like a completely different person. Eve is now a red-head and no longer topless (awww...). Go figure.
Short version is that I'm back in purgatory but need to get back into Hell to thwart Alastor's army (which he gained after I killed Lucifer). To this end, I've cleared out an orphanage (tiny child-like demons on fire who explode), fought through an amusement park populated by fire-breathing marionettes, killer klownz, and gassy strongmen; but at least I got to ride the roller coaster of death.

2 days later and no posts? for shame...

Saints row 2
Got quite a bit done today. Diversionwise, cleared 6 rounds of insurance fraud and another pass at Septic Avenger.
Against the brotherhood, crippled their tattoo artist to get info on a shipment, stopped a city-wide assault on my gang, and destroyed prison transports containing recently freed Brotherhood members.
Against the Samedi, Destroyed a group of helicopter shipments, defended my warehouse from the attack of the crackheads, and killed their 2nd in command, a voodoo priest named Mr. Sunshine.
Against the Ronin, killed their top liutenant (the guy who killed a friend and put another in the hospital), defended a hospitalized friend from a gang assault and moved him to the safety of my HQ, and destroyed a hotel belonging to the gang's leaders.

3 days more and no posts? This is turning into "The Happy Locust's Game Progress thread". go figure.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
GAME.OVER! Sanity has been restored... for now...
Rather than give the detailed synopsis, let's just let my stats speak for themselves.
Image

Yes, I suck.

Overall, I loved this game. Most of the complaints I have are either fanboyish or petty. Gamewise, my only problem is the pacing. the game felt like it ended way too quickly. My feelings of accomplishment were tempered by the worrying feeling that the ending was coming sooner than I liked. Still, 'felt over too soon' is only a testament to the quality of the game.

The Conduit
Completed the level where you destroy a drudge nest under the library of Congress.

Saints Row 2
Cleared a round of Heli Assault and FUZZ, earning a faster dropping notoriety rate and additional resistance to damage.
Storywise, Raided a Police station to hack into their traffic monitoring system in order to locate the whereabouts of their leader. Raided an Ultor shipment of illegal weapons, then used said weapons to defend against the Brotherhood. For the Ronin side, killed their leader's son after he decided to crash a friends funeral. Left him alive, but buried.

PainKiller: Battle out of Hell
Moved up a few levels, somehow skipping level 4 (the game's idea, not mine), Moved through a representation of WWII Leningrad followed by a trip through a more generic city and parking lot area (generic-ness countered by first appearance of a five-legged spider-demon with cannons mounted on it).

Lunia [PC]:
Got my main character, Kuritan, to Level 74. Did some hard Stages with my Guildmates today, and got more than 3 million Experience per Stage. Epic.

MechDuels [browser]:
The name 'Kerensky' was taken, so I took 'Kerenski' instead. Got my character to Level 5. Called my 'Mechs Locust and Bushwacker. Called my multi-wheeled ground-based tank Roller.

I'm guessing the name 'Kerensky' will be free soon enough: Kerensky will return!

GTA IV [PC]:
In Algonquin, met up with Frank, did the first job for him. Met with the lawyer chick. Took out 40 Flying Rats and finished about half of the bridge fly-unders.

Saints Row 2
Made some major headway on today's session.
The Sons of Samedi are finished. I set up an ambush and killed their leader, earning myself the Samedi cars, taunts, and an APC with a mounted turret, SWEET!
The Ronin decided to avenge their fallen son and attacked my base. Repelled the attack, nearly killing their leader. He escaped though.
With the weapons stolen from the Brotherhood, led an assault against their HQ. Killed the majority of their gang and defeated their boss, although after falling through 4 floors in a fistfight, I was too woozy to chase him down when he ran away. Next time...

Another level down. Entered the Pentagon, fought off the Drudge long enough to collect the defense codes and keep them from the Trust.

Saints Row 2
Made some major story progress today. First, tracked down the Brotherhood's leader to the Arena. Fought off the remnants of his gang (all driving jeeps and monster trucks) before taking down their leader. That's 2 gangs down.
After that, heard that the Ronin were attacking a heritage festival that my mentor was at. Raced to the festival, killed most of the Ronin, saved my mentor, then fought their leader in a sword fight. He won the fight, asking me if I really thought I could match his skill. My response? "No, I plan to cheat", at which point I shot him. 3 gangs down. My gang is now the only game in town.

We now interrupt the Locust's game progress to bring you this special report:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas:
Finished up Zero's missions, driving his competitor out of town. Also finished up Woozie's missions in San Fierro, driving his enemies out of town. (I swear, Woozie only exists to make sure we all go to hell...) Completed Jizzy's missions...only to learn that I'm supposed to kill Jizzy and all his friends, including Mike Toreno (Voiced by James Woods!), who I killed by blowing up his helicopter with a bazooka.

Then I got a call from a distorted voice (Voiced by James Woods!...wait...) who I ran a few missions for, because apparently getting blown up doesn't cause any physical deformities. (Though I lost track of him a few times, he had more than enough time to bail)

Woozie opened a casino in San Fierro, so I'm helping out with that. I'm also helping deal with the Liberty City mob.

We now return to our regularly scheduled progress, already in session.

MuraMasa: The Demon Blade
Started the game, played the Tutorial, playing the game on Shura (hard) difficulty as Momohime. Made it through the Iza forest only to find my body separated from the spirit posessing it. Took back the body but was attacked by a one-eyed monk. Defeated the monk but the soul of Momohime was stolen. Fearing for my stolen life if any harm comes to her soul, I'm currently tracking down the soul theif in the Mugashi province.
Update: Tracked down the thief and collected Momohime's soul by defeating a fiery wheel demon boss. Now I need a way to get me out of her body, her back into her own body, and me into a new male body.
Tracked down a samurai involved in Momohime's death. Fought him and won, but found that the sword we needed wasn't in his possession and was still in a town far to the east. Momohime apparently had a relationship with this guy and made me spare his life. Left him in a shack for his own troops to find and took off.

PainKiller: Battle out of Hell
Cleared the Colloseum level. A long one but a fun one (clocked in at 43 minutes to complete with 371 enemies killed). Moving on to the Underworld.

Saints Row 2
Turns out that my rise to power was orchestrated by the Ultor corporation. By inciting gang wars, the company could buy the contested land at low land values and redevelop it for a heavy profit. With the other gangs out of the way, all they had left was my gang.
On that note, the Ultor forces led an assault attempting to assassinate me and my liutenants. Escaped and rescued my lieutenants and ran to safety.
In response, located their primary research facility (an underground complex called the Pyramid), infiltrated it, planted explosives, and ran like hell.
UPDATE: GAME.OVER!
After the Pyramid mission, was tipped off to the location of a party being held by the Ultor execs. Raided and slaughtered all attendees. Turns out the Exec who attacked us earlier sent the message and is now in full control of the company. Oops... To make a final end to this, attempted an assassination at a press conference but he got away. Chased him down but he managed to reach the Ultor HQ and put it in lockdown. Plan B: Grab a helicopter, destroy the building's defenses, then leap from the helicopter into the exe's office. Did so and sent him flying out another window to the bottom of the skyscraper. My homies arrived late and we all took another helicopter back home. We now rule the city.

This game kicks ass. A game with zero morality, zero consequences, and pure mindless fun (PC version port problems notwithstanding).Altogether the game clocked me at 43 hours of playtime, and I loved every moment of it. How can you not enjoy a game where one of the lead characters refuses a rescue because he's having too much fun in a firefight with the authorities?

I seem to have forgotten to mention this:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas:
BEATEN! Tenpenny got what he had coming, and CJ is rolling around in a big pile of money. I call that a win.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic:
Had some shenanigans on Taris and then--YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT ALL UP! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

Now I'm on Dantooine, a planet that Grand Moff Tarkin is certain has no Rebel outpost. It does, however, have a Jedi Enclave (Why we went there instead of the main temple on Coruscant, I'll never know), where I'm now getting Jedi Training.

The Conduit
2 more levels down. Working my way through DC sewers, caught up to the prologue with the level ending with me walking through the large conduit.
On the other side, found not an alien base but a human facility, highly advanced but still human. Disabled numerous jamming devices to keep up my communications with Prometheus. Destroyed a series of labs and found that the 'alien' threat was a hoax. The leader of the trust had captured an alien and cloned him to build an army. I destroyed this source alien (at its own request) and exited the labs. Now to take down the Trust's leader.
Update: GAME.OVER!
anti-climactic sequel cliffhanger ending after a standard wave-after-wave level. Oh well, still fun.

I see most of the criticisms of this game as I played it, but it's far from a bad game. I actually see potential for a sequel here if it can be made to stand out from the crowd more. Finger's crossed on that point.

FF4:The After Years: Rydia's tale
Started the tale as we find Rydia in the Feymarch just as the mysterious girl from the first chapter petrifies the entire village. Unable to help, I meet up with my airship pilot luca and return to the dwarven kingdom to find it has been attacked and its crystal stolen. Not a good day...
From there, returned to the airship where Luca had assigned two 'dolls' to assist us. Flew to Tomra and then to the Sealed cave to reach and protect the last crystal. Unfortunately, the wide disparity in my character's levels and the high-levels of the enemies in the cave are proving to be troublesome. Currently grinding my way to a more balanced party (and yes, I find rpg grinding fun)
UPDATE, 4 days later (doesn't anyone else play games anymore?)
AFter grinding to level 20, reached the bottom of the cavern and collected the dark crystal, fighting off a demon wall in the process. as we left the cavern, the mysterious girl arrived and took us out easily. She left with the crystal and my 2 doll compatriots were down for the count.
Took the airship to the overworld and attempted a sneak attack on Baron but the red wings shot us down. Even worse, the dolls went haywire and we had to take them out. Even worse, the ship was irreparable with current materials. After restocking at a nearby town, explored a local mine to find material to repair it (fighting a flame-spewing turtle to get it). When we returned to the airship, we repaired it but were attacked by one of the Summons. Fought it but it was too strong. Only the appearance of a 'man in black' saved us and won the battle.
... the end. Rydia's tale apparently ends here, theoretically to continue in the final chapter. Short, but I only paid $3 for it so no complaints. On to Yang's story.

I find the lack of video game updates disturbing. and I find the lack of a social life to keep me from posting vg updates even more disturbing.
Batman: Arkhman Asylum
Went back to go for 100%. up to 230/280 riddles.

Final Fantasy 4: The After Years: Yang's Story
Started the game training with some monks. After refusing to let Yang's daughter train, she ran off and me and 2 monks chased after her to Mt. Hobbs. Found her on the mountain. She said she had seen a shooting star crash nearby and we decided to investigate. There, we found the land rotting and many enemies. Feeling that the situation was going to go south very quickly, we decided to return to Fabul. On the way, saw the Red Wing's airships heading to the castle. Returned home and tried to defend the castle and the wind crystal but a surprise appearance by Kain messed that up. The crystal is gone and now I'm taking a trip to Baron to figure out what's going on.

PainKiller: Battle out of Hell
GAME.OVER!
Cleared 3 more levels: the stone pit, the underworld, and the shadowland. Defeated Alastor again and dethroned yet another king of Hell. Eve appeared to congratulate me but then took Alastor's power as her own and became the queen of Hell. She offered me an apple (symbolizing my loyalty to her) but I refused. Looks like our hero's going for a threepeat regicide.

Unfortunately, that story never materialized. But maybe PainKiller:overdose will tide me over.

Final Fantasy VI:
Got Gogo, so now I have all 14 playable characters; No, I don't need that many. Currently hunting down Magicite and other optional things.

Final Fantasy V:
Kicked Exdeath's ass, but lost Galuf in the process, who still kept on fighting despite having 0HP. He, of course, died, despite attempts at healing magic and health items from the rest of the group. (Giving some explanation of why they didn't just give Aeris a Phoenix Down) Krile, Galuf's granddaughter, took his place. Somehow, everyone ended up back on Bartz's world...partially merged with Galuf's. Ooh, that can't be good. Exdeath revealed himself to be alive, and annihilated Castle Tycoon and part of the surrounding area...which is where we last left Lenna...uh oh...

Muramasa
Been a lot of progress, so here's the short version:
Brought down a corrupt shogunate (getting the administrator arrested rather than killing him), found that the sword we needed was in Hell so we snuck into Hell (meeting the now-executed administrator there), got eaten by a demon but fought my way out, only to find that the sword wasn't there. Dead-end.
When Hell fails, turn to plan B, invade Heaven. Tried to get in but got blocked by Fujin and Raijen (no relation to the MK versions). Fought Raijin and won, but apparently the gods locked the door to heaven while we were fighting. Okay, plan C, look for a back door to Heaven.

Final Fantasy 4: the after years: Yang's story
on the way to Baron, got attacked by monsters. Defeated them but the ship was damaged and needed repairs. Stopped at the Adamant isles to collect some palm oil. Yang went ahead but took too long so Ursula went after him. Played 2 concurrent stories while reliving memories of Yang's life and Ursula's childhood. At the center of the island, found the palm oil and fought a giant turtle defending it. Ursula proved herself in the battle and officially became Yang's newest apprentice. Off to baron, except for the whirlpool that just opened up in front of us. whoops...

Final Fantasy 4: The after years: Porom's tale
Porom got sent by his master to Triest to train their mages. He wasn't too happy but obliged anyway. While there, met the trainee named Leonora and guided her through the tower of trials to prove herself while teaching her the basics of black magic. Survived the tower but the Baron soldiers attacked the castle. We quickly grabbed the crystal and high-tailed it.

Giggity.

Final Fantasy VI Advance:
Took out Deathgaze, collecting Bahamut for my troubles. Got Alexander and all of Cyan's Bushido, as well as Odin, which I made into Raiden. Took down Gilgamesh, but I wasn't able to get his Genji Glove (I blame Locke), which I wanted for Sabin because Genji Glove + Master's Scroll = 8 Hits per turn.

Currently working on a sidequest for Strago and Relm.

Good thing the above line didn't involve a father and daughter, or that comment would be creepy. Oh wait... :?

You know, compared to where I spent the weekend, that's pretty mild. That, and I haven't played After years yet, and Yang and Ursula being related completely slipped my mind.

Final Fantasy VI: Advance:
Finished up the loose odds and ends. Now I'm grinding everyone up for the final encounter. It's kind of a difficult task, since I haven't used half the cast.

Weapon: Black Magic
MuraMasa: The Demon Blade
Completed Momohime's quest. She's back in her body but Jurenko had to go to Hell to let her live. Hopefully there's an epilogue to this.
cONTINUED: Started Kitsuke's quest. So far, I've defended myself against a ninja attack, fought a Samurai leader, and taken down a girl riding a ghost horse. Um... Cool.

PainKiller: OverDose
Cleared level 2, a Japanese themed hell where the enemies included Ninjas, Samurais, Zombie Geisha girls, and giant armored knights.

Final Fantasy Iv: The After years: Palom's tale
After escaping Troia, took a black Chocobo to the Lodestone caverns. fought my way through the cavern to put the Crystal in a safe location, though doing so unexpectedly resurrected a boss from the original game. Whoops. Boss proved to be too much but we were rescued. Unfortunately, the rescuer was the Mysterious girl who has been hounding everyone's stories. She dispatched Palom and Leonore and took the crystal from its hiding place. End of story.

Final Fantasy IV: The after Years: Edges Tale
Oddly, Edge's tale doesn't really include Edge. Instead, he sends 4 new ninjas on recon in his place. Controlled the first one at Troia, slightly crossing over into Palom's tale. Pretending to be an apprentice Eplot like Leonore, decided to scale the trial of towers. Couldn't get in so this mission was on the outside of the tower. From there, collected info of the surrounded area then stole Palom's ship to head to Mysidia. Switching to a difference character now.
