Dragon Age Origins
Ran a few sidequests for the blackstones and mages collective. Also hit the 'stone prisoner' side-quest and added the golem Shale as a companion. A living statue with a dry wit and a fear of pigeons, what's not to love?
Decided to start the endgame sequences and had Arl Eamon call the landsmeet. After rescuing the queen from her mad father, got captured and arrested during the escape attempt. Luckily my companions rescued me. Went around Denerim earning support for my candidate (Alistair). Convinced him to not only be king but to marry the current Queen to cement his rule. He's not too thrilled but we all believe in him. Hardened Alistair's personality as well.
The Elven Alienage finally opened up and I was able to complete some remaining missions for the sidequests, earning the 'Easily Sidetracked' achievement (75% of sidequests done)". In the Alienage, found 2 problems. Firstly, a plague has spread and a group of healers from Tevinter are supposedly healing them, though no one's seen anyone come back yet. Infiltrated the hospice and found people in cages and clues that lead to a room in an apartment.
While in the alienage, met a blind Templar who is sure there's a cabal of blood mages around. found some clues that led to an orphanage. Inside, finding ghosts and rabid dogs but no mages. Still working on it.
Update:
REached the source of the hauntings. Lost Ser Otto but at least the problem is taken care. Went back to the apartments and found a Tevinter slaver. Muscled my way past his guard and tried to make a deal with him, but he refused to free his slaves. Defeated him, freed the slaves, stole his money, and booted him out of the country.
Took Shale back to ORzammar to try and recover his memories. In the Deep Roads, he recalled a lost Thaig and led me there. From there, we found a lot of Darkspawn but also a Golem registry. Shale remembered his true name, home, and... gender? Shale's a woman? Um... whoah...
Returned to Denerim and the Landsmeet was called. Loghain made his case but my do-gooding brought a lot of people to my side and showed him as a power-hungry madman. 5 of the 6 Bann's sided with me.
When it all came down to it, it was a one-on-one battle with him and myself. I won, making Alistair the king. Loghain surrendered, finally seeing that my side was strong enough to take on the blight.
He still had to pay for his crimes. I attempted to keep him alive but risked Losing Alistair in the process. Loghain accepted his fate and I took him out. I also arbitrated the final dispute by having Alistair and Anora agree to marry to rule jointly. They're not too thrilled, but I think They'll do fine. Time to make the final move against the Blight.

Enjoying the hell out of this, actually. and the graphics seem fairly good considering the number of darkspawn onscreen at a time. And a guy like me doesn't spend 80+ hours on a game unless I'm enjoying it.

Dragon Age: Origins
amassed my armies at Redcliffe and met with my troops, only to find that the enemy had actually went to the town I just left. Oops. Prepared for a long march, but first found out the terrible secret of the Grey Wardens when battling archdemons. A companion offered another option and I took it (no spoilers to worry about). Travelled back to Denerim and separated my team. My main crew will go after the Archdemon while the rest guard the gates. Took out two Darkspawn generals which should make things easier later. My gate-team had to defend from an attack but easiily held it off.
Up in the skies, a friend injured the Archdemon, forcing it to the ground. It's grounded, but I still have to get to it.

GTA IV [PC]:
Next mission is "The Snow Storm," so I figured I'd get some side stuff done before having more crap hit the fan. But, since story-wise Jakob's arguing with Torres, I can't hang with him nor buy any of his gear.

Got about 12 or so Unique Jumps. 100 Flying Rats down. Finished all of the Most Wanteds that I can at this point. Got the Fly Helicopter Under Bridges Achievement and the Survive 6-Star Wanted Level for 5 Minutes. Both are rather easy.

For the Survive for 5 Min, I just grabbed a chopper from the Heli Tours, flew to Jersey which I haven't unlocked yet, and just flew around in the air for 5 minutes. BAM.

For the Escape a 4-Star Wanted Level Achievement, I swam to the airport, got onto the beach, called Roman for a cab, and when the cab was near me, I walked towards it, shooting the Wanted level to 4 stars. Then, once in cab, choose ANY destination (unless you put the marker at/near the airport), skip the trip and BONK, instachievement.

Halo: Combat Evolved [PC]:
Playing right now, check my Xfire status. I just alt-tabbed to check my mail. :-B

Managed to finally get to the Archdemon. the path there was hell though. the Entrance to Fort Drakon is a shooting gallery and you're the target. Had to lower the difficulty, call in a fleet of dwarves, spam my AoE attacks, and still only had 1 of my 4 team members alive by the end. ouch.
Once in, I set myself back to normal and fought through waves of enemies that really didn't stand a chance. Finally got to the Archdemon and got him to 25% health before he completely fragged me. Still, close enough for a 2nd try.

Game.over!
Finally defeated the ARchdemon. Thanks to my companion's gift, I survived the battle and was able to accept my rewards personally. Alistair rules alongside Anora, though I chose to remain with the Grey Wardens. 3 of my companions will be joining me. As for the ending, I seem to have missed some plot points as the endings were not 100% happy. Still, generally very positive endings and I feel rewarded.
After 80+ hours, I definitely feel I got my money's worth and I will undoubtedly be replaying this some other time, probably as a rogue.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
Started the game and won the first battle. Found that my best friend had been murdered and that that killer was the number 1 ranked assassin. Decided I'm in it to win it.
Loving the 8-bit minigames. Spent more time playing Bug Catcher than playing the actual game to this point.
Took out 2 more wacky enemies, one was a voodoo breakdancer and the second was a football player with a mecha. Wacky.

I still have to get the second game.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis:
I learned two things:

1. Nemesis is a dirty rotten bitch who actually doesn't appear as randomly as I was led to believe.

2. Even in low-res PS1 graphics, Jill is still smokin' hot.

Currently trying to get that train running again. I got the power cable, the fuse, the oil additive, the grenade launcher which has nothing to do with the train but I like having it anyway, I gotta find the oil.

Can't stop laughing while playing the second one.

Mercenaries 2
Finished defending the PLAV hideout from a VZ assault, tracked down the commander and captured him for the PLAV. After that, ran some missions for the UP factions, earning them 2 new outposts and buying myself some fuel capacity upgrades.
Encountered a very strange but funny glitch. I called in a resource pickup then got back on my motorcycle while waiting. my Helicopter arrived, missed the pickup and instead nabbed my bike, ferrying me all the way back to my base like a Crate. The game didn't seem to know how to handle this because when he landed, his helicopter landed on me and pushed me halfway into the floor. When I got off my bike, I suddenly found myself on top of the helicopter walking on the spinning rotor blades. :-?

Helped out the Friends/Random Pedestrians in Algonquin. Hossan from the first cutscene, Sara the ex-model, and Pathos the oldschool rapper. More races are available, so I'll be doing those soon since I'm a GENETICALLY DIFFERENT ALPHA MALE.

Halo: Combat Evolved [PC]:

On the subject of the Ladies of Resident Evil, new DLC for the console versions of RE5 makes Rebecca Chambers playable in Mercenaries mode (Along with Barry Burton, Excella and Josh), and, well there's nothing that isn't awesome about this image.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis:
Remember how I said Nemesis was a dirty rotten bitch? My assessment still stands. You are not allowed to stay standing after five grenade launcher rounds to the face!

Fell into some manner of pit, proving that, yes, Raccoon City was built by the lowest bidder. Now I have to turn on power to this elevator to OH GOD GIANT WORM MONSTER.

WAT. She looks younger than she did in RE1. Not to mention more out-of-character than ever. And where's her headband? :-B Glad to hear Barry's coming back. Dude really got the short end of the stick. I mean, really. They could at least remake RE Gaiden and cut him some slack.

She likely joined the BSAA with Chris and Jill which would explain why she looks so comfortable dual-wielding guns that would send a girl her size flying backwards. it doesn't explain how she aged down, though. Also, the headband was gone in both RE0 and REmake.

One of his melee moves is "The Barry Sandwich." Capcom is not without a sense of humor.

I'm still hoping they give him some more love. Hell, make a Chronicles with him a Rebecca, or something. I'm sure there's enough room in the canon for them to dick around with zombies in some far-off corner of the world. And if it incorporated Gaiden, so much the better. Remade in 3D, that derelict ghost ship would be downright bonechilling.

I'm certain it would be something more corny, a cheesy pun or a metaphor that doesn't quite fit. The kind of thing Barry is famous for.

Most of what happened after Raccoon City has gone untouched. I mean, sure, Code Veronica, RE4 and 5, Degeneration, and bits and pieces of other games, but they've got 10 years worth of stories. I'm certain they could make a spin-off featuring Rebecca and Barry fighting Zombies and making one-liners and making references to Sandwiches. or hell, make Degeneration 2 about them.

I'm not sure if a tongue-in-cheek Degeneration 2 with B-grade characters would do well. I mean, a lot of the appeal of Degeneration was the reunion of Leon and Claire, 2 fan-favourite characters, in what was essentially an epilogue to RE2. (By the way, Claire's totally still got it.)

I think that Barry and Rebecca are complete throwbacks to the past, to the less-serious era of RE that I think they want to move away from. Let's face, oldschool RE1 on the PSX is more like The Evil Dead than a modern Resident Evil. It's HILARIOUS. The writing/acting is SO bad that I found myself laughing, not screaming. I mean, I facepalmed so much during RE4 because of how bad the dialogue was ("You may be able to prolong your life, but it's not like you can escape your inevitable death," and crap like the stuff about being "small time" and a play, for example), but it made sense compared to how atrocious RE1 was. I think they've been trying to make the series much more serious. Just take RE5, the Chronicles, and Degeneration. Heck, the trailers for RE5 are a good example, too.

I've lost my train of thought and I'm not sure where I'm going with this. #-o Barry FTW, though.
