I stand corrected here. Monolith has confirmed that the Point Man is 31-years-old in the fist game, meaning it takes place in 2025. Because I'm on a huge FEAR bender, I'll add that Fettel is 30 and Alma is 46.

You know, I was really liking the idea that they were artificially aged.[/quote]

Suddenly, Alma's consistent nudity in FEAR2 just got creepier. Ick.

Dragon Age: Origins
Continuing my second playthrough. As the Female Human Noble Rogue, Buggina, completed the Human noble origin by fighting my way through Howe's men and finding my father. He was bleeding out pretty badly and he agreed to let Duncan take me to safety on Duncan's condition that I become a Grey Warden. Poor ol' Mum stood behind to guard dad and protect our exit.
Duncan took me to Lothering where I met the king, 2 other recruits, and Alistair. After running around the camp speaking to everyone, returned to Duncan to begin the joining. But first, the 4 of us must go into the wilds to retrieve Darkspawn blood and some old treaties.
I like being a rogue so far. the Backstab and stealth abilities are pretty useful. I'd expect my enthusiasm to diminish when I get to the harder battles, but my Warrior in my last round was a dual-wielder with a dexterity focus so I'm effectively using the same character, just with a different skillset.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

Blows your mind when you think about it.

Fettel saying that really gave credit to the artificially-aged idea.

GTA IV [PC]:
Working [on] Carmen and the lawyer chick. I can now use Carmen's special ability, healing through a phone. I love how even Niko comments on how ridiculous it sounds. But hey, remote healing when you need it badly is worth it.

Let Clarence live, just so I can meet him later as a random pedestrian. I like those side-quests. Haven't done the Snow Storm yet. I think I'll wait until I get the lawyer's ability and see if maybe it could help.

Watchmen movie game, Part 2 [360]:
Playing with a friend. We're both big fans of the book, and the game is so atrocious and awful that it's pure comedy to us. It's like Double Dragon or Bad Dudes in 3D, with movie-fied Watchmen characters. Got an Achievement by accident, and I think they made the point values silly on purpose: the don't end in fives or zeroes.

Lunia [PC]:
Yeah, I'm finally back. Reclaimed my position in the guild. Made a new character, the kinky dark-side jailbait healer princess, like everyone else.

I have both parts on PS3. If you don't take it seriously, and you shouldn't, it's still a pretty good beat-em-up.

Mega Man Zero 2:
Beat the only of the second tier bosses who isn't a recurring character, and since i used a Cyber Elf to have A-Rank for the mission, I got his EX Skill, which allows me to drain health from my opponents, Metroid Style. I also have all four Sub Tanks, so I can pretty much call it a day and say I already won. (One sub tank can fully heal you twice and have a little bit left over)

Too bad the game acquisition thread is toast because I have a neat haul. Picked up Just Cause 2 for the PC (just 'cause  )and found an online deal that netted me Battlefield Bad-Company 2 for only $20. Sweet!

Just Cause 2
Started the game, but an early mission flub meant I had to go into enemy territory and retrieve memory discs that fell from the copter. After collecting them, made things go boom and fled, retreating to our island contact's place.
Our contact turned out to be at a casino currently being taken back by the government of Panau, so I went in to rescue him. First I needed to get to the top of the two casino towers from the outside using my grappling hook and disabling some breaching charges. After that, located my contact on a connecting bridge and flew him to safety with my parachute. Finally, rode on top of his car and leapt from vehicle to vehicle to protect him from government troops. Made it to safety, got info on local gangs, and as put in touch with a black market dealer.

Now on to Bad company.

Hell no. EA online store. down to $40 and I had a promotional code for $20 off.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Started the game in World War 2 working with a small squad attempting to rescue a Japanese defector. Infiltrated the island and found our target, but our own guys started bombing the island. Escaped by hijacking an enemy sub but the mission ended in failure when an unspecified weapon detonated, ending the mission in a white flash.
Forward to the future, Bad Company is sent to Alaska (I think) to retrieve unspecified materials stored in a Russian truck. Survived the assault and even tagged an air-support target, getting my guys to the truck. Acted as a standing turret while our team drove away, having to escape enemies on vehicles and a helicopter. Truck was destroyed but cargo was delivered.
Next mission sent me to Bolivia.

Ah, nevermind then.

Halo 2 [PC]:
Completed 2 more levels. On the final mission right now. Bracing for what I've heard is a disappointing/rickrolly ending. My gamerscore is currently at 911. Heh heh, emergency services.

GTA IV [PC]:
Did the first job for Playboy X, met Dwayne.

It's a really awful cliffhanger ending. Master Chief, and the Forerunner keyship Truth was taking that Chief was hitching a ride on, arrive at Earth, where the UNSC is getting curbstomped. Chief is brought up on the Radio, and Hood asks what he's doing. He responds, "Finishing this fight."

Cue everyone going "Allright, time to kick some Covenant ass as the Master Chief!" Cue end credits. Cue a bunch of people swearing. And also that post-credits scene. (Not nearly as bad as the ending)

Maybe it will just take a while. 4 years isn't nearly enough time to port a game from a PC-based architecture console to a nearly identical PC-Based architecture PC. :-?

FEAR 2
GAME.OVER!
Um... what? Game just kinda ended without much of a climactic battle. Instead, I get sent to a hallucinatory scene with flashes of Alma finally experiencing... um...
short version is that when she attacks the PC, she wasn't trying to kill him.

Took a hack I found online, but I finally figured out how to use a non X-box gamepad to play the PC version. Thank you hackers for making my purchase of a logitech controller worthwhile. :APPLAUSE:
Gamewise, cleared the first two stronghold missions, giving the Ular boys and the reapers a territory of their own. Would have done more but had too much fun just going into random areas and causing chaos.

You're playing a PC. Why aren't you WASDing?

Made the mistake of downloading "Game Room." What the hell? It's a glorified emulator with those annoying xbox 360 mascot characters. Only, since PC gamers can't make one unless they do it on a 360, we have to choose from a crappy list of pre-made ones. Which is lame, since I made one while playing on a friend's console. Anyway, the 'game' is confusing as hell and the help file doesn't help. Where do these tokens come from? How do I get them? How the hell do I play a game in the first place? Do you really think I'm stupid enough to download a 60 meg Intellivision rom and PAY for it?

I milked 55 gamerpoints out of it, and it's getting promptly uninstalled.

The control scheme doesn't lend itself to a keyboard very well. For example, X is the handbrake. Driving control are a bit quirky as the WASD controls are all-or-nothing for turns. In short, it's a somewhat lazy Xbox-to-PC port, though not as lazy as Prince of Persia. STill a fun game though.

DAMN IT. I was looking forward to it up until now. Thanks for letting me know. They did a good job with the first one, but if this is a half-assed port, I'll pass. Are you able to redefine the controls at all?

Final Fantasy V:
Oh my God that was a waste of time. maybe it was her equipment, (It IS Mime Class after all) but Faris was SERIOUSLY underpowered using Dual-Wield + Spell Blade (Flare) + Rapid Fire. Without Rapid Fire, she'd do about 6000 per round, and without Spell Blade (And on Freelancer Class with access to the best weapons in the game) she'd average about 8000 per round, though she could go up to 16000 or even higher.

So please, WHY is that such a big deal?

At least all that grinding prompted me to get Dual-Wield for the rest of the group.

EDIT:

Dissidia: Final Fantasy:
So far, I've Mastered (That is, gotten to level 100) Firion, Emperor Palamecia, Golbez, Bartz, Exdeath, Terra Kefka, Cloud, Sephiroth, Squall and Ultimecia. A few power-leveling tricks and a few key, crippling weaknesses in the Computer-Controlled Exdeath really helped.

It's not nearly as bad as Saints Row 2's PC port, meaning JC2 is still playable with a keyboard. You can re-map the keyboard controls but the gamepad controls are locked to X-box standards. If you want the game, don't let my little gripes hold you back; it's still worth it.

Add Warrior of Light and Garland to that list. Man, those guys leveled up WAY faster than I expected. Hell, I got 4 characters to level 100 today. (Would have been 5 had I not been too distracted to finish Onion Knight's training)

GTA IV [PC]:
Reached 100% with the lawyer and can now use her special ability. Which, unfortunately, didn't help during The Snow Storm. By the way, that ZOMGPLOTTWEEST was so predictable if you paid attention to the signs. Man, she sucks at undercover!

Ran through the gauntlet in Brazil... Chile... um... where was I again? doesn't matter. Anyway, tracked and rescued the VIP. His intel was lost but he had backed it up on a satellite.
Took a trip to the Andes mountains to a satellite control outpost. After a minigun assault from my helicopter cleared the way, dropped in and shot my way through to the satellite controls. From there, our techie sent the satellite on a crash course where it will land safely a few miles away.
Shot my way to a jeep and then raced to where the satellite was going to impact. As one of our team said, "That was the best thing I have ever seen!". Satellite's too hot to touch so we need to defend it from enemies until it cools

Just Cause 2
Ran some general destruction and racing missions just for fun (and causing chaos in this game is quite fun). Also got the 3rd Faction a stronghold in the harbor, defended their drug warehouses from the government.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

A fun puzzle game starring a lovable dancing robot. He really needs to be made into a Revoltech. Aced the first 10 levels of the Tutorial Set.

Leveled everyone to level 100 except Gabranth, who I'm currently working on. Playing as him inspired me to go back and play...

Final Fantasy XII:
Decided to go back and do some hunts. Finished up the Gil Snapper, and moved on to Maralith. Wouldn't you know it, I took one wrong turn in the cave she was hiding in, and ran right into an Esper. Due to one mistake with my Quickening Chain, I died while the boss had just a few HP left.
