The head is sculpted with QuickPlastic (sorry Servo, they were out of quickwood).
The chest will be a modified air freshener I've been eying for a few weeks. if you ever want to feel crazy, catch yourself studying air fresheners for 30 minutes at your local walmart.
anyway, here are the first images. I got the day off today so maybe I'll have more updates later tonight.
cheers!

Nice going there, creative use of air frehener.
You also made a good head, but, are you going to smooth it out?

The air freshener looks like it will work really well.
For the head, looks good, but I'd suggest you mould some more on the bottom of the sides of his head. The pic of his G1 head shows it shaped like the top half of a sphere...

The air freshener is a stroke of genius worthy of Star Trek prop builder. Dare I say Funky Fresh...
But does he still transform?

not yet. he's wet and sticky. mostly sticky.
DJs in Disguise wrote:...you must have a keen eye for parts , airfreshener!!
as it goes, it's more of a disease than anything. like stopping at walgreens for a bottle of water and ending up staying there for thirty minutes studying random crap...and then walking out with nothing at all. but thanks for compliment.
Tom_Servo wrote:...Quikplastic always seemed a but gooey to me, but you seem to have gotten a truly great result there! As far as smoothing goes, you can do some nice detail sanding with an Exacto knife, and paint always helps.

thanks servo. yep, the quickplastic was a but gooey, bit they were out of quickwood. and I'm outta quickwit. thanks for the advice on the sanding techniques.
funky fresh??? I got nothing, I'm outta quickwit.
and yes he does transform. I'll prove it in a couple of days. he can also transform a room's sent into "clean and fresh." or was it "sea breeze"?
thanks guys

I'd concur, Alt mode!
But I like the current suspense. Also, nice job fixing up his head.

here's a quick 1-2 on how to make the box on the back.
1) get yourself an ambulance road ripper
http://www.boscovs.com/StoreFrontWeb/Pr ... pe=Product
Wal-Mart has 'em for $5.99
2) take it apart and save the rest for something else down the line. remove the stickers carefully and use those for a ratchet down the line.
2) measure your marks and cut the part that you need.
3) attach clips made of styrene that will engage the inside walls of bed side panels.
4) test - make adjustments.
5) paint.

it's amazing what good bashers can do to a stock Longarm body. i've seen 2 so far, this and the Wreck-Gar bash, and both are excellent homages to their G1 counterparts.
can we have close up pics of the finished head and gun?
