He's £55, make him around the price of a Leader-class figure.

After thinking about it, I don't think it will be an issue for me. When I get Overlord, he will represent the IDW character, and that one didn't have Nebulan components, correct?shajaki wrote:Maybe? And I don't want to make it sound like it's impossible, it was just a pain. I needed a tool to get him out. Requiring a peripheral device is annoying, but really it's not the end of the world. Tight or not, I'll be more than happy to get him some proper Powermasters (3P or official).Rodimus Prime wrote:That's just shoddy engineering, because it looks like there's plenty of space on the figure's chest to make the Master holes (what would you call them?) a little wider. Or maybe they were too concerned about the Masters being loose and rattling around in the chest? I guess too tight is better than too loose.

As for PC-16, I will probably get him because he is just a great looking figure. I don't even have a TR PMOP, but even if I did, I wouldn't take him apart.

There's some great things about this, and underwhelming things. The good: robot mode is amazing. Posable, solid, intuitive transformation, and looks great. The bad: The truck isn't as solid, and honestly the design feels lazy...
-The arms lock together for the front bumper quite poorly and look uneven.
-The integration of the Powermaster feels like a complete afterthought with how much he protrudes, seeing his robot mode arms and head.
-The blue piece on the top of the cab (in truck mode) breaks up the otherwise solid red cab.
-He has some major gaps in the legs that are really unnecessary, and his feet just hang off the back when they should have flipped upside down and connect together.
-He should have come with two of the big black guns as opposed to the original styled rifle.
That sounds like a lot of complaining I know, but I'm still really happy with the robot mode. However based on the price (especially of 15) and the fact that in most collections they'd be hidden behind a Godbomber, I honestly can't recommend them. If you plan to display them separately like me, then it might be worth it. I was planning on getting the white Magnus version as well, but I highly doubt I will now after this experience. Especially since I was already upset that he didn't get his own (proper white G1ish) gun.

But, I agree with shajaki. The bot mode is awesome and I will likely be playing with him often. (His G1 styled gun is getting donated to my Classics Prime.)

According to Emgo's review the original head does fit ("storage") in the new cab if you put it in sideways. The instructions say it doesn't but it seems that's just Perfect Effect being greedy.

Interesting...
I liked the Powermaster anyway, so I didn't try anything else.

Umm...the point of this set(s) is to rid the figure of the pointless TR gimmick that takara should have gotten rid of in the first place. Buy the small Ginrai and youll have something to plug the powermaster into.

And I whipped up a G1 cartoon inspired replacement chestpiece for the basic figure on Shapeways.
This is my first attempt at 3D printing design and it involved a lot of measurement taking. The basic concept is the chest wing and chest plate are separate pieces. The plate replaces the basic plate just like PC-17's does. The wing pegs into a 5mm slot. It can also be used as a gun or pegged elsewhere. My own prototype copy should be in by the end of the month.
This is for the basic figure. I may do a PC-17 compatible version down the line.
So if you order, you will be guinea pigs alongside me!

Good idea for Liokaiser indeed!
I wish they had made the Dinobot hand-spikes and toes gold though.

Indeed. I think I will give to Liokaiser instead of using with Screamer. Nice!

Starscream's.... is just unecessary. I think the spiked hands don't suit him, and you'd just be better off buying a set of dark blue original PE hands/feet for him. S'what I'm planning.
And the Dinobot set... I'm really torn because it helps the combined mode a lot, but it doesn't change Grimlocks dino mode for the better. It's not worse, but if he's getting brand new parts then I'm bummed they don't help out his awkward rex mode

I hate to say it but Perfect Effect is begging for another round of KO madness with these raised prices. I gave them plenty of my money but when it came to the non-G1 combiners I couldnt resist those $12.99 hands/feet sets with free shipping. Not to mention those beautiful cartoon accurate Bruticus feet and G2 onslaught cannons PE never bothered to make. I dont like the whole dino rider thing, but I love the combiner addittions. But the red toenails make me want to puke. Hoping the KO guys make the feet available with gold toe nails and ill be a buyer. Ditto for the combiner upgrades which will probably be under 30 bucks with free shipping.

And they didn't make appropriate individual weapons for the Dinobots. I really like the FoC designed sword Volcanicus has in Transformers: Earth Wars,Rated X wrote:I dont like the whole dino rider thing, but I love the combiner addittions. missed on to give him, and that it even can split into 5 seperate melee weapons but I guess I have to wait for Dr.Wu to make weapons for the Dinobots. But I would by the huge sword seperately without the combiner parts.
