Ghost Rider wouldn't have much trouble...at all. I mean, since he beat Mephisto, I'd figure a large robot wouldn't be a problem.

Ironhide will smash him to bits. Penance stare won't work on him, he's a machine after all.

True very true!
But and here comes the big but!
The Rider is undead, in a special way, I mean a truck full of nitro blow up in his face shredding him, and he just put himself together again.
Ironhide can blow the Rider to bits as much as he wants, the Rider will just put himself together, get pissed and melt Ironhide's face.

Ghost Rider has more than one attack. Just because Superman's heat vision wouldn't work on Johnny Storm, doesn't mean Johnny Storm could beat Superman.

Penace Stare will work on anything that has a soul and can sin. If Ironhide does not have a soul then the Stare is worthless. If Sparks count as souls then Ironhide is in big trouble.
