GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!
Re: GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!
O.k. now that both Target exclusive cobra rattler and g.i. conquest x-30 are out what do people think of these are worthy addition to growing roster of vehicles or would the night raven and sky striker have been better choices.

1) Did we ever learn CC real name? I know in Declassified we're introduced to a guy named Fred who is supposed to be CC but I only have issue one. How did that play out?
2) If Flint and Duke are both part of Tiger Force who is leading the regular Joe team? How come they never did a Python Patrol CC? Imagine the new siegie body done in the PP colors.
1) Don't know about his real name, but that Fred was an impostor. http://gijoe.wikia.com/wiki/Fred_VII
2)In the movie they said Beachhead was fourth in command from what I've read, and I think followed by Stalker. So either one of those two would probably lead the team.

Well here is the entire history of cobra commander according to wiki so take this with a grain of salt: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobra_Commander

I knew about Fred in Declassified there was a guy who was a car salesman who was also named Fred. Eh, so confusing. If Beachhead is fourth who is third? Scarlet? Snake Eyes? General Hawk!!???
I would love to see the Night Raven or the black version of the Sky Striker but I think Hasbro is trying to keep things small as to keep costs down.

Not sure if the same is said for the comics, but in the cartoon the line of succession was:
Hawk
Duke (originally leader, turned second-in-command)
Flint
Beachhead
Hawk
Duke (originally leader, turned second-in-command)
Flint
Beachhead

Grabbed a Cobra Paratrooper from my local comic shop. They had the whole wave there, but I have it sitting in my BBTS POL and besides, my buddy had grabbed Wraith, and the Cobra Bazooka Trooper before I got there, so the other two I really wanted were gone.
They did have Mutt, Croc Master, Duke-Tiger Force, and a couple Bats and the previcous wave of figs.
Anyway, the Paratrooper is awesome! So much gear. Sniper rifle-with removable cartridge-EASY to lose, snub nosed submachine gun, removable knife, parachute pack kit, removable goggles, removable helmet.
All in all, a high quality figure, and worth a look.

I don't think we've seen it yet, but there is also the black/blue/silver HISS driver.
And I would imagine if they include a figure, it will be repainted in some sort of arctic gear.

You get the Mobat, Tank(motorized) blue Trouble Bubble, and the crimson H.I.S.S. for vehicles. Steeler, Stalker with Jetpack, Short Fuze, H.I.S.S. Driver, Cobra Officer, Destro, and Cobra Commander.

Keep in mind that the figures are going to be based of v.1 molds so diaper crotches are in effect and Destro and CC will have their respective hand issue.
Anybody else think that the CC from the Comic two pack is a tribute to IDW CC from Joe/TF 1 when he had Megatron frozen in gun mode?

I picked up the tripwire cobra commander two pack today and I have to say not the best version of cobra commander that is out there. But I didn't really pick this set up for him it was more for tripwire and I have to say he is pretty cool.

What don't you like about him? Besides the golden gun I would say he's one of the best CC thus far, at least he has two working hands.

I guess the version of cobra commander I consider to be the best version to date is the battle armor version just because I have always liked that one. This version suffers from all the problems the other two hood cobra commanders have.

I really wanted to like the Armored CC but the one I got had a warped foot that limited the ankle movement and really turned me off. Isn't it sad that it seems like every figure has had at least one thing wrong with them? What problems have the hooded CC's had besides the closed fist?

I think the big problem is diaper crotch syndrome, also his head doesn't have the range of movement that some of the others have had.

I remember 5-pack CC, who most of the hooded CCs are based off of, being one of the first 10 figures to actually have a normal waist. He seemed to be able to sit easily; at least all the reviews said he and Destro could. Shame if that isn't true.

I don't know if this news has been posted here yet or not. The Combat Heroes figures are out. I haven't seen them in stores myself, but am hoping to where my cousin's B-day is coming up soon. For those that do know what they are they are the G.I. Joe equivalent to Star Wars' Galactic Heroes, and the Marvel Super Heroes Squad.
The first wave consists of:
Snake Eyes and Timber vs Zartan
Bazooka vs Firefly
Duke vs Cobra Trooper
Roadblock vs Cobra Commander
Hisstank.com has some images on they're front page. I think the SDCC Snake Eyes with Timber looked better then the Wave 1 figure as I believe he was black instead ot the light gray.

I have a little display in my room of The armadillo with Duke and Flint going at it with a HISS tank. I used to have Major Bludd on the back of the HISS but wanted to switch him out with the two Vipers I have. Funny thing is if you put a figure on the back of the HISS he has to use the two pegs to stay on. Anyone else have this problem? I had a Viper fall off twice before I gave up, almost lost his goggles too. I think it has to do with the hole in the foot not being set far enough back. I remember back in the day the hole used to be in the heel and balanced the figures well.
On another note I've been trying to remember the name of a non Joe action figure line that features 4" tall figures coming in a set with vehicles that could combine in various ways. The one set I had features flying vehicles and there was also a land set (Tank) and a sea set. The idea being that everything was modular and the vehicles were interchangeable. I'm about 95% it wasn't a KO line since the quality was good but that's all I can remember.

I was able to get the target exclusives of both the g.i.joe conquest and the cobra rattler. I got one of each. They are great! I heard the stickers don't stick well but I usually leave the stickers on the sticker sheet where they came from. Looking foward to the cobra water mocassin ,and also my favorite g.i. joe tank the mauler a toysrus exclusive. The coolest feature of the mauler is that it is motorized.

Oh no since the figures fit in the vehicles, open top by the by, and the vehicles just formed other vehicles not robots. I'm trying to think where I got them stored. I know I used some of the figures as wrestlers in the AFW, action figure wrestling federation, so they might be with my joes. Yes I would use Joes as wrestlers since the WWF figures at the time didn't have the articulation to pull off moves like the DDT or Piledriver. Man those were the days when those two moves were like deadlier than death.

Re: GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!
Hisstank.com has posted on the site's front page that Wave 5 vehicles are up for order at BBTS.com.
The vehicles are:
Ghost Hawk with Lift Ticket
Arctic HISS with Arctic Driver
Claw Glider with Stratoviper & Flak Cannon with Outback
Stinger Jeep with Stinger Commander
I hope they plan to rerelease the Stinger Driver from the Cobra Legions pack on single card or in another pack. I never bought the Legions pack, I had kept pushing my plan to get it back until it was too late and I couldn't find it in my area, then when I did find it again I was reluctant to pay $30.
I was surprised to see the C.L.A.W. being released again so soon, I hope the Flak will bring more like it into the line.

I wouldn't mind having the cobra fang and Stinger just because I had them as a kid. As far as the other vehicles go I will take a wait see attuide to those.
