Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

I have to say I like spirt just because he is the only native american figure in the G.I. Joe series and some of my extended family is part native american.

I just got back from a trip out of town and picked up 4 G.I. Joe products.
I picked up another H.I.S.S. Driver, and finally found the Firefly figure. My biggest surprise was the new comic packs. I found two of of the three. Hopefully I can find the Duke vs Red Star one.
Copperhead vs Shipwreck and Firefly vs Stormshadow.
I almost didn't get Copperhead vs Shipwreck pack because someone had put it and a Viper figure behind some other toys.
The comic packs come inside a plastic bag, and the file cards and Doc mail away stuff are inside another bag inside the comic.
Each figure I got today I liked, especially Firefly(Comic Pack) and
Copperhead. I think I have to move my Cobra or Joes to another shelf though as i'm just about out of space where I have them now.

Firefly is more or less the same figure as original release, only with new gear. He has a backpack with a multi-tool, flashlight, gas tank, and what looks like explosive which are all removable. It also has other tools that are part of the mold. He has a pair of removable goggles which stay on pretty well, and two new guns.
His gear in his backpack seems to fall out easily.
I like how he looks compared to the original 25th version of Firefly.
Stormshadow's backpack opens, but all the stuff inside is part of the mold and does not come out. He has a few new weapons to go along with his swords, but I don't know the names of them. The new weapons are pretty neat, especially the claws. He looks kind of odd without a shirt on, though it makes him more then just a repaint with new gear.

Shipwreck is the same as the original release, only with a removable life preserver and a hook weapon. I was hoping they'd give him a new right hand so you could put a weapon in it, but unfortunately that didn't happen.
Copperhead doesn't look like he's made from any other figures, though he could be. He comes with the gun the original Duke came with, which he holds great, and a pistol.

I wish I had a camera so I could take pictures of them to show off the new gear and how they look, but my phone is the only thing in the way I have for a camera and it's not that great.

I think Copperhead has Roadblock pieces. He is quite large, and he has the open hand like RB to hold the gun barrel.

I got all of those and the Red Star and Duke set from BBTS today, as well as all of Wave 7 and Wave 8.

Red Star is pretty sweet, and his hat is removable. He comes with a lot of gear, and backpack.

Duke looks so much like Hawk, I have to assume he's a repaint of the SE v1. Duke looks 1,000 times better without his helmet BTW and comes with a rifle, handgun and knife.

Do you guys like the new holsters? Much bigger and roomier, hold pistols much better!

Also, anyone got a CC with mass crystals yet? The on eI opened has a seriously warped helmet brim... I hope that is not the case with all of them.

Firefly from the two-pack is indeed very sweet. i was not sold on him when I saw the first pictures, but the sweet 'night vision' goggles, explosives pack, new vest looks great. If he had blue and swat on, I would swear that he was Shockwave...well, if he had a hat over his mask.

I do like Shipwreck's hook, but he is a bit boring. Anchor tattoo so far, wonder if they will change it? (kidding)

Copperhead is pretty cool. Kind of pointless without a water moccasin, but hey, he's cool.

Love the new cartoon Baroness. Somehow the colors make her look a lot better, and the green glasses, I think those push it over the top!

I probably won't see that wave for a few more weeks, hopefully it's not all Cobra Commanders that have a warped helmet as I intend to get one.
Speaking of Cobra Commander, Yojoe.com has posted a hi-res image of SDDCC Cobra Commander.
http://www.yojoe.com/magazine/2008/05/31b.shtml
From the looks of it the podium appears real. I hope they will do more stuff like what we've seen with Duke, this Cobra Commander if it's real, and the upcoming battle packs of accessories like Duke's Flag and the cart with crystals from one of the battle packs.

I like the new holster that is on Copperhead and H.I.S.S. Driver. I hope to see it more on other figures as it looks more realistic then most of the ones figures come with.

Has anyone noticed that once you take the trooper helmet off once it's kinda loose when you put it back on? I've had this problem with CC and Scarface.

Yeah, especially with Cobra Commander. At least one of my troopers doesn't have the problem, I try not to remove they're helmets but when setting them up they sometimes come off.

I read the comic that comes with Firefly and Stormshadow and it was an odd, but enjoyable one, especially the way Firefly acted in it. I was not expecting him to be tracking down Firefly for that, especially with the fighting.
I haven't finished the Copperhead vs Shipwreck comic though.
Are these new comics or reprints?

I just checked over at Hisstank.com to see if anything new had been posted since I was last there and someone has images up from Wave 9.
http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/25t ... de04d500be

There are links to more pictures in the first post of under the featured news.
That person has at least 100+ B.A.T.s in the pictures, SDCC Cobra Commander which I'm glad to find out is real and not just part of the packaging.
He was able to get Wave 9 from China, not sure how he got the SDCC figure though. He explains where he got the wave in the discussion area.
Are the figures released in China and other Eastern countries earlier then they are released in the West?

At most I only plan to buy 4 or 5 B.A.T.s so I couldn't imagine owning, much less affording, 100 B.A.T.s or any other troop builder.
After 4 or 5 unless the troop builder figure isn't in a multi-pack then I probably won't get it, though I plan to see about having my family buy some Cobra troops for my birthday and Christmas(No matter what anyone says, you are never to old to receive toys on those days).

These are brand new stories.

I think SS is portrayed a little poorly in it. Firefly seems about right, but SS is too...forgiving. After all, it took SOOOOO long for him to forgive SE who never even did it.

It would be awesome of these comics were foreshadowing things to come. I know they aren't but the USS FLAGG is in the SW vs CH and well, that would be damn sweet as mentioned before.

The Red Star/Oktober Guard Vs. Joes was a pretty good read too. All 3 of them were enjoyable!

And now it is time to send in for another DOC. :D

I plan to put the M.A.S.S. Device together as I get each piece and keep it on display. I'll need to buy a bigger stand for it though as the way my Cobra figures are set up there isn't much space left on the stand they are on.
As for the Weather Dominator I haven't heard about it coming apart, though it would be cool if it did. I know it can fit on top of the M.A.S.S. Device though.

Well friday I picked up t.v. show accurate hawk, snow serpent, Nemsis enforcer lt falcon comic two pack. All of these figures are amazing if don't have them then I would say go and pick them up. I was also within a few seconds of getting a b.a.t. as well but that is the way things go sometimes.

Bunch of new info:

First

Wave 10 on the singles has been sighted so keep an eye out for them.

Firebat with AVAC and White SHARC with Deepsix are on the way.

http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/25th-anniversary-3/gi-joe-modern-era-sharc-tooth--firebat-on-the-way-7627/

Also there are new listings for JOE Vehicles and 2 packs:

http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/25th-anniversary-3/new-gi-joe-diamond-listings-for-december-7656/

So we get the Ghost Hawk w/a pilot who I don't seem to recognize and Cobra Water Moccasin w/ Copperhead

2 packs are pretty much figures we all have or will have at one point. I'd love ot pass onS erpentor, however it seems I must get the 5 pack version so I can get Dusty.

There's also a Target exclusive Ultimate Battlepack which comes with a bunch of figs, a Blue Trouble Bubble for CC, a Red Hisstank for the CG, and a MOBAT tank for the JOEs.

http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/25th-anniversary-3/gi-joe-target-exclusive-ultimate-battle-pack-images-7659/

Also, the Final 5 pack DVD set "Best of" will include the final piece of the MASS Device, another CC with a different head with a Cobra CLAW and the bomb he set during the opening movie sequence, a Cobra Soldier, show-accurate colored Duke w/jetpack and American Flag, the camera that was bashed by a Crimson Guard during the movie opening sequence, and Alpine. I'll admit, the Alpine figure looks pretty good. Coloring seems slightly off but thats nothing big.

Episodes include
Skeletons In The Closet
The Viper Is Coming
My Favorite Things
The Phantom Brigade
G.I. Joe The Movie Opening Sequence

So those hoping for a figure of the Viper are SOL.

http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/25th-anniversary-3/gi-joe-modern-era-dvd-battle-pack-best-of-episodes-7645/

Finally, it seems some of the older figures from earlier waves are starting to show up in retailers again. The GI JOE racks were full of figures. I came across Crimson Guards and the single-carded 5-pack Snakeeyes at my Wal Mart.

I've seen a lot of the earlier figures on rack as well. It's funny I saw a Wave 4 CC and a Wave 8 with MASS crystals and had to hold both just to figure out the differences, and I own them. I know they're doing case revisions which is great for people who came late to the party or just couldn't find them on shelves. That final 5 pack really seems sweet and if that's the end of the anniversary line that's the way to go.

I think I should've re-worded it. It's not the end of the line by any means. They never said they were ending the 25th line. Thats just the last of the DVD packs. I seem to recall plans to continue the line through the movie. Hasbro knows this is a fricken cash cow right here and they'll keep it going as long as they can.

See I understood it as that they were using the 25th designs on the new figures and that classic characters would be released under the new cartoon line name, whatever that is.

Almost forgot the hand gun that comes with the 25th BAT is a replica of the Auto-9 AKA Robo Cops gun. If you include SS Highlander Katanas that covers two of my all time favorite movies. Hmm, I wonder if I have friends in RI?

My Cobra Legions five-pack wants to disagree with you… to name some problems:

- Air Trooper’s buckle was very poorly painted, so horrible that you can notice it at first glance.
- Comic accurate trooper has very loose legs.
- Stinger driver’s paint applications are poor and legs are loose.

Then from other releases:

-Comic Pack IG Destro’s head will not fit.
-BAT’s head broke the day I got him.
-Rock&Roll’s head broke the day I got him, both were too tight and I know this is a QC problem because the other R&R I bought had an proper head.
-One of my carded troopers had floppy legs.
- Comic Pack Fred had an warped out of proportion foot.
- ANOTHER Air trooper I bought had a poorly cast gun, that none of my joes could hold, or him.
-My HISS Driver has uber floppy legs and an arm with no ratchets, meaning one arm won’t stay up.
- Scarface has an hand that won’t stay in.

That’s eleven QC problems off the top of my head. Probably some I’m forgetting…

O.k. far less QC issue than other hasbro lines because certain other lines every figure as of late as something wrong with it. Well I would love to have nemesis enforcer bat wings attached to the figure in some way not just to the back pack.

Duke arms, diaper crotch, Hawk arms, Destro hand. My favorite Mentoch the destroyer! (Comic pack Breakers incredibly large head.)

almost forgot, the MASS device 5-Pack trooper comes with a toon acurate gun that he can't hold. Infact I'm hearing that the troopers can't hold any of those guns so it might be a problem with the gun.

Well I got the most recent wave of comic packs today and before I tear into them I have a few questions; Is Lt. Falcons backpack supposed to have an antenna on it, if so does it come pre installed? Is the sheath for CC sword supposed to be curved even though the sword is straight? I got these from BBTS and I know if you wait they send you crappier stock but I shipped these ASAP so I hope it's not me because I can tell exchanging them will be a pain.

The sword sheath is straight on my Cobra Commander figure so if it's curved in the package it may just be how it was packed in. The antenna is connected to a radio that is inside the backpack that can be taken out.
"What are you?" That's what the woman asked me. Am I some sort of ghost? I still move. I still breathe. I'm still alive.

Well I'll take CC out and see how bad the sheath is but the antenna is not in the pack so I hope it is in the packaging, somewhere. I'm going to be pissed if the figures are screwed up but there really isn't anything I can do. Add this to the list of QC issues with the line.

Speaking of which, it's close to the end of September, has anyone who was waiting gotten their Doc figures yet? I'm waiting on two and getting antsy.

I'm still waiting on mine. I know my check cleared. If September ends I've not gotten it, I say we mass e-mail/call compaint to Hasbro. No, not just people form Seibertron, but other GI JOE sites that have people waiting as well. We should've had Doc by now and if they're not giving us the figs and taking our money, then they're setting themselves up for a heap of trouble.
