GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!

Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

Hasbro's site has the Arise Serpentor Arise set in stock. The coolest thing about it besides Dusty and Serpentor with the cartoon design is it looks like Attila the Hun's corpse is an actual figure with articulation and everyting.

I ordered it the other day with one of the codes in TF GD and got 24% that. Then I immediately placed an order for Serpentor's Chariot and Armordillo with the $10 coupon from an order I placed a week or so ago. Total cost for both shipped? Around $40. :) But 3 figures and a vehicle set to have a proper Serpentor and his chariot? Now I still need the other dvd pack, and my MASS Device won't even be complete yet...Well played Hasbro. Well played.

Weapon: Battle Blades
We just got the DVD Battles sets in. They cost the same...

...but have no DVD. #-o

Also Hasbro, take your Weather Dominator, shine it up real nice, turn it sideways...

..and replace it with an actual figure. ANY figure. Cobra Trooper. Big Lob. The Fridge. ANYTHING.

I disagree. I love having props from the show. The Weather Dominator is something I've wanted since I was a kid. Right now unless you've seen the cartoons that go with the set it won't make sense for it to pull apart, but that's the plot of those episodes. Did you get your set from an online place or a store? Because if you can I'd return it, because you paid for a set that includes toys and a dvd. And did you mean you paid $20 for it or $40 for it? Because either way I'd be pissed but if I were you I'd be extra pissed if it was $40.

I actually have nothing against the Weather Dominator. I just don't like the fact that it replaces a figure. It really should've been a BAF, er BAWD.

The DVD packs are at TRU. I'm so tempted to get one, they go for about $32. It's a region thing, I'm from Asia, across the pond so to speak from Den-O if I'm not mistaken.

This is what irks me the most - be it TFs or Joes, despite the fact that we're both closer to China AND a third world country, we have to pay Europe/Australia prices for toys. Joe figs retail for $7.50. TF Deluxes retail for $14, Voyagers $30, Ultras $50 and Leaders $60.

I really do not like the skeleton. It just sucks. Needed to be a real figure.

I buy almost every Paratrooper I can get. They are so sweet. The grear is really cool, and could be swapped on many characters. The fact that they have the swim fins stored, and removable, a knife, a sniper, and a sub machine gun all make him worthy besides the HALO gear.

I don't think they are cancelling those vehicles. I believe they will do them. BBTS, and other stores had to cancel their pre-orders for the Firefly Vs. Greenshirts TRU 5-pack, and the Crimson Guard 5 pack, and then they were available at retail. Then BBTS listed them again.

I don't think those vehicles are done, just getting a different release schedule.

:(

Man I was really looking foward to them. Especially the Fang and Claw twopack since it's a two vehicle set and a troop builder set. I'd expect them to sell the living hell out of that set. Have you guys got the DVD pack with Attila yet? Because I'm still holding out hope that he's a figure and awesome. Hell I could even work in Indy with him. :)

I don't have it yet because my TRU still has a ton of the first two sets to sell but from every review I've read the skeleton figure is the worst ever made; no articulation except in his waist and he can't even hold the sword.

By the by it's time for my usual Doc check. Anybody just get him? Still waiting? I'm really tempted to call Hasbro but I'm afraid I'll say something they'll regret.

I've had mine for a few months Chuck. But some of the guys on /toy/ are just now getting theirs. Oddly enough reports are coming in that there's a third version of Doc out now with the new crotch instead of the original one that limits mobility. I'm considering opening my Doc to play with. I feel bad for not already.

Can't they come up with a halfway attractive Lady Jaye head? 2007's looks like an Egyptian porn star (don't ask) and 2008's is, well, a handsome woman. #-o

I have it, and I have it lying as a corpse on my mass device. I do not think it has much articulation. It certainly is not very fun to play with from my POV, FYI.

Well you can thank the wwe and dc/wb for the skeleton. Because hasbros first two choice were sgt. slaughter and the genetic monster that cobra commander created. But all rights to sgt. slaughter had reverted to wwe some time ago, and the genetic monster was thought it looked to much like clayface so it was rejected, and that is how we ended up with the skeleton.

See that is 胡說 on Hasbro's part, they could have given us a Dr. Mindbender as he would have been appropriate for that particular set.

Went to a Target today and picked up the Scrap Iron vs. Wild Bill 2 pack. They look pretty solid. And I'm liking it came with a dual remote rocket launcher for Scrap Iron.

Thanks for the Doc update guys. I really think I'm going to give them a call this week since I've been more than patient with them. I can't buy a Megatron off eBay because it doesn't have a but plug but they're ok with a guy buying 100 of the same comic pack to get 7 Doc figures? I'm digressing.

Don't hold me to this but I think the problem with the Sgt. is when he came back in the early 90's as the Iraqi sympathizer. Vince might have gotten the rights to the name then because he sure didn't have it before as he wrestled in the NWA and AWA as Sgt. Slaughter. It might also be due to the legends contract he signed.

Remember what I told you guy about TRU? Well if there is a Khols in your area hit them up as they're starting to stock Joes. I found Wraith and Mutt as well as some earlier waved figures there. Unfortunately no Black mask Destros but you never know. They're more expensive but carry less so new stuff comes out more.

Anybody here on Facebook? I wanna try and get a few of us together, just for kicks ya know.

I finally had some good luck today when I was out of town shopping. I finally got my hands on more then TF Duke for Wave 10.
I was able to find Wraith(Non-Clear version), Bazooka Trooper, and Croc Master at Toys 'R Us.
Out of those 3 my favorite is the Bazooka Trooper. Wraith is just too stiff and I'm afraid to pose him with his gun out of fear of breaking the hoses on his wrist cannons.
At Target I was able to get my hands on the Ultimate Battle pack.
I wish I didn't have to take the tape off of the ground sections to get the file cards, gear, stands, instructions, and stickers
The way Stalker's face is painted is kind of cool with the missile coming at him, his eyes aren't finished so it looks like he's looking up knowing his time is over. I like having a second Mobat, this one complete unlike my 2002 release one. I need to buy a few more Crimson Guard to man the H.I.S.S. Tank.
I plan to give my cousin the Destro and one of my Cobra Commanders as I have enough of both, and will end up having 2 more Cobra Commanders if I ever get my hands on the last 3 entertainment packs.

If not for an employee at Target not being helpful I probably wouldn't have gotten the 3 figures. He wouldn't look outback for Entertainment Packs 3-5, saying that what was on the shelf, packs 1 and 2, were all they had available and if it was in the back then it meant it wasn't available yet.
"What are you?" That's what the woman asked me. Am I some sort of ghost? I still move. I still breathe. I'm still alive.
