Nickolai wrote:Just picked up the Armadillo Tank/Serpentor's Chariot and was waaay disappointed. On the whole, the set is fail.
The vehicles seem like they're made out of cheap plastic, flimsy and light. The Armadillo has two clip-on acessories that attach to its sides, a rail and an equipment pack. Both refuse to clip on firmly. Serpentor's chariot's guns are stationary, and the Cobra mouth, despite being mounted on a swivel refuses to turn from side to side.
Not just these flaws though, some of the stickers come pre-applied and whoever did it did a poopy ass job of it. Every pair of stickers is assymetrical and some are downright crooked.
The saving grace of the whole crappy affair is the Steeler fig. For a vehicle driver, he comes with some great accessories - a removable helmet, webgear, a knife which goes into a sheath in his leg and a pistol which goes into a shin holster. Quite the cool package, and I like Steeler the cartoon character. C'mon - the lucky bastard stumbled bass ackward into an alternate dimension where he ends up happily ever after with a lovestruck nympho 'good' Baroness and her personal scantily clad hot blonde Cobra aide. No kidding.
Now, very contrary to public opinion I *like* Serpentor the character, he's the reason I got the two-pack in the first place. But this fig is a disgrace to the character. A tiny too-tight helmet, hands with fingers crooked so they can't even hold the damned controls of the chariot, molded snakes which are again too small, NO ACCESSORIES besides the crap helmet... I'm strongly resisting the urge to scream "INSOLENT MICROBE" at the stupid thing and backhand it into a hungry carno-tree.
What a let-dwon. I really wanted to stockpile and army-build these seemingly nifty and cheap vehicle packs, but if they're all like this I may skip.
shortround wrote:The reason this version of Serpentor is that way is because he is just the single pack figure minus the sword, stunner thing and cape. There supposed to fix the problem with the arise Serpentor arise Serpentor dvd entertainment pack version. I don't know if they did I will be getting mine sometime in the next couple of days.

From the looks of it most of these smaller ones are. The HISS was good though. That episode of the toon is the one I remember the most. Who were the other Joes that got written out?

Anybody here on Facebook? I wanna try and get a few of us together, just for kicks ya know.
I think a few of us are on Facebook (from the crash). I know Ryan, and Fender are on often, and Counterpunch.
I meant just us Joe guys thanks for the heads up though. Wanted to try and get a Siebs/Joe community going. Our own private army if you will

Can anyone tell me the name of the figure Scarlett is based on? I knew it once but forgot. Like Ninja-Ku Storm Shadow I'm just going to have her be the international character they are based on instead of the one they say they are.

I want to say Gloria, but not positive.
Nickolai wrote:A good day for Joes. Was able to snag a retail Roadblock (wifebeater version), AWE Striker (pretty rare) and B.A.T. (REALLY frigging rare)
I feel weird about owning a Leatherneck and not a Wet-Suit.Separating life partners is always bad juju.

Uhh did I miss something in the comics? This sounds like a story that should be brought to life by the guy who owns ages 25 and up. After he does a story on Clutchs' and Barbecues' big night out.

Nah, wasn't in the comics. It was in Season 2 of the animated series. They were the Felix and Oscar of the Joe team.
Goddammit Hasbro. I can understand the presence of twist ties and plastic inlays to prevent shoplifting. But you went too far with the AWE Striker packaging. The packaging actually damaged my toy. Leatherneck's forearms were nearly sawed through by the clear bands holding them in position. I tried to plug them back in but the separation is clearly noticeable now. The Striker's antennae were supposed to point straight up but are now permanently curved, with stress marks/damage at their base. The steering is broken, as the wheels don't turn in the direction I turn the steering wheel. The black tube connecting the passenger side gun to the roof also has stress damage and is twisted.
What a waste. Despite all the damage, it really is an awesome figure and driver.
