And suddenly I have images of the tattooed guy in Fanboys with the large back tat of Jar-Jar.

Ray Park showing up as a security Guard at the Skywalker Ranch doing all his Darth Maul moves was a brilliant touch.
However, for films in the same vein, I personally find Free Enterprize a better film.

They have gone and finally done what they should have done ages ago and set this years convention set as the Red Shadows.
An utterly brilliant move as the concept for the shadows was not only great when they were the pre-cobra foes of Action Force, but when Devil's Due relaunched them in their Joe comics, it came out great.
Then the club announced that the set would be o-ring.
Now I know that there is a large portion of Joe fans that have gone apeshit over the fact that despite the club saying last year they would be using Anniversary and/or Movie style figures from now on, that they have gone back, I hate this move.
Personally and maybe it was due to the lack of funds growing up that had me only collect a few pieces, but I find the newer molds better in sculp, articulation and possibility, which is why I got hooked on them. If they had announced this set in this style I would be locking down the funds immediately. As it stand I will be passing on this set completely.
Love the concept, immensely disappointed in the execution.

And how come those Rave-Vipers aren't holding glowsticks or maxing out on E?

Nope, the joecanuck thread on them started ages ago.
And nope, those aren't rave vipers. only things in that pic ia the 604 Hiss, two Ice vipers and Beachhead.
I've been meaning to take some shots but I have to do it in natural light as my camera doesn't want to take good shots in regular lighting. (which means I have to get off my ass and do them during the day.)
Once I do, I'll post up the newer crap I've converted. Rave-Viper included.
Editor wrote:I'd also feel better if more of my "conversions" were more than part swaps, but I'm happy with them.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:Canadian cobras, nice to see what you're talking a boot. I've always wondered how come hasbro never made gi Joe Mounties. They're handsome, they're brave, they're strong. They're Mounties, and they enforce the law.
Editor wrote:Well the Mountie image and red serge uniforms are trademarked by the RCMP so I have no doubt that would factor into any plans Hasbro would have.
That said I am honestly surprised that with the exception of the early runs changing the birthplaces of the Joes to canadian cities, that they haven't tapped the Canadian Military for members. The Canadian and US military have served together many times and routinely have duel training missions in addition to Canadian forces serving around the globe.
Maybe they are content with the Joecanuck guys serving that demographic, but more could be done.
