Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

On the question of the 5 packs I assume that any one of the Cobra sets with Storm Shadow in his traditional ninja gear is rare since all I see now are the Wave 1 SS in the action set.

Each figure from the battle packs is getting an individual carded release as well. Just got the joe and cobra set on cards (Wave 4, I think).

My Air Trooper's helmet stuck too. When it was off I think I tried popping the head out, or when I stuck it back on I tried a slightly different angle, tried to work the helmet off individually.

If I haven't messed with it in a while, I have to jiggle the helmet slightly to loosen it up a bit, then it just comes right off.

As for which set is rarer, I don't think any are rarer at this point, but I have seen fewer of the Cobra posed sets versus both Joe sets the other Cobra and Legion sets in my area.

Crap, I haven't even seen wave 4 yet. Hell, I only saw wave 3 once. What is going on with the distribution of this line?

Supply isn't = demand. Hasbro underestimated how popular the line would be. Not everywhere is getting as many at the same time. These things, save a few chars, fly off the shelves within days.

I'm sure Hasbro thought they'd end up wiht simialr results like their reissue TF line. WHile these aren't reissues they are based off the original line. Boy someone in marketing must've overlooked what a big difference a lower price can make.

Give'em a few weeks with wave 4. Wave 4 just came out. I've yet to see them here. I'm more interested in finding more Cobra Soldiers and 1 more officer.

Anywho, instead of hoping for a chance find I went ahead and purchased Flint off ebay for $5.00. I still think they could've made more Flints had they not made so many CC's SE's and SS's. I know they're popular but they weren't the only major characters. Usually an older episode featured Duke, Flint, Lady Jaye, or Scarlet or all on occassion. Not even the grunts get THAT many figures produced.

I dunno, but I decided recently that I'm only going to buy the re-imagined versions of the original GI Joe figures. Rock & Roll, Stalker, Cobra soldier, etc. I can see my collecting habits spiraling out of control as it is. Sadly, these newer figures only make me long for the original versions more than I want these :?

I will also pick up some of the vehicles, like the VAMP and Stinger. Though I might have my older toys of those somewhere.

TRU.com had (may still have) the first Wave of 25th Comic Two-Packs for sale. I ordered mine last week Friday, and they were still in stock then. :-?

I hate it when toy stores are this bare. Joes are hard enough to find as it is, but now absolutely nothing!

Well I've worked my way through most of the figures I've gotten. Here's a quick review of each that I haven't covered.

Shipwreck- This guy was a personal favorite of mine from the old days of the toon so I was happy to see him here. His hand can hold the shotgun and pistol quite well. The automatic, not so much. One problem though is that they gave him a molded right fist which would've been ok except that they put his holster on the right leg! Granted I've accepted that in 99% of the cases thus far the handgun and holsters are just for decoration since the hands don't hold them well, but in cases like this I find it disappointing. His legs are also of the old mold.

Red Ninja- Why is this guy here I'll never know but he is a straight repaint of Cobra 5 pack 1 Storm Shadow. He does come with some odd body trap type device but other than that nothing special.

Stalker- Cool figure. Repaint of the Joe 5 pack 1 Snake Eyes. I like his rifle although the hands don't hold it well. Very appropriate that he was released in one of the earlier waves since he is one of the originals and an Icon.

Buzzer- At first I was really excited to see him since I've always been a big fan of the Dreadnocks. One problem right off the bat was the fact that his ponytail got in the way of his back pack peg-hole. The second problem is that I felt he was kinda light on accessories. I think a hand gun of sorts was in order since his chainsaw is more of a mele weapon. Articulation is ok but I need to see how he'll fit on the Cobra vehicles.

I just picked up the Joe 5 pack at Target today for $12.95. Got some good figures in it. Roadblock and Snake Eyes are worth the set alone. Gung-Ho is a pretty good figure as well. Scarlett seems kinda flimsy for some reason. Duke is meh. Never cared for the character so I don't care either way for the toy, but he looks pretty good and shall be displayed as such.

One thing I forgot about the Red Ninja. On mine the wrist joints are way to tight and when you turn them it's more like your twisting the plastic. Something tells me it's due to the posts that the wrists peg onto being painted.

Is the Cobra Legion pack $12.95 as well?
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.

I saw those sets on clearance at a Target for $17. I'm waiting for them to drop further... I might pick up a set. If only for the Stinger jeep driver and airborne trooper.

Well I opened Serpentor and thus am now up to date with all of the current waves... that I've gotten from BBTS.

I've always liked the character; especially the whole "This I command" line. (Between you and I the chicks dig it.) So I went in a touched biased. I was happy that he came with a much larger sword than the original but I don't understand the inclusion of the double bladed weapon or the lack of a sheath. I would've also liked to have seen something along the lines of a snake spear that he used to use in the toon. This guy bears more than a passing resemblance to the Devils Due serpentOR that made his debut Joe/Transformers 3. His helmet is removable which leads to the only problem, besides his sitting issues, that I have with the figure; the helmet looks like a cross between an old school harness my dad would wear for his braces, and the padded helmet that the "Special" kids in my grade school would wear so they wouldn't get hurt if they fell. Also the lack of the signature Cobra hood on the back of his neck really stood out. I've heard that somewhere down the line we will see another Serpentor either in a comic pack or with his flying throne so maybe we might see a figure closer to his toon roots. I would buy him again anyway so you should too.

Anybody reading 'America's Elite'? I really love this World War storyline. And the newest issue, with the Plague, pretty good. The bios in the back were really nice, but I smell a traitor within the group.

I really want official toys of the the COBRA Plague! Black Uniforms, yeah!!!

And who is the joe that is currently entrenched in COBRA that gave SS the disk with info on the Plague? Anyone know? I forget a lot of what has been presented in past recent books. #-o

I think the yellow missle goes to Zanzibar's air skiff.

The black gun with the rounded end bit and the silly looking handle is the 1989 Toy Biz Batman (movie) figure's spear gun.

The bag belongs to Night Force Tunnel Rat.

The red backpacks are from the accessory packs from the late 80s. CB identified them correctly :)

Not sure about the green torpedo, but it might go with that Barracuda submarine from the early 90s. The one which you stuck an Alka-Seltzer inside to simulate the diving or surfacing bubbling action

God, I miss my old GI Joe toys...

I found the first three comic packs in Target. Only got the Scarlett & Hawk set. They're pretty cool, nothing new really except Hawk's head. I wish Hasbro would fix the figure's hips already. Also take note that the comic reprint does not contain the second story, "Hot Potato."
