The sun is no good this time for Zartan. Try putting him in the Freezer.

I finally got my first comic two pack yesterday and I have to say it was well worth the wait. I have to say the detail on both Torch and Ripper are amazing from the tattoo's to there weapons wow if you own Zartan and Buzzer then don't give getting these guys a second thought, to complete what I'm sure is only the first of the Dreadnoks to be released in this 25th Anniversary series of figures. Since I can only conclude that they will release Monkey wrench, Thrasher, Road pig, Zandar and his sister Zarana to round out the Dreadnoks. I hope that hasbro creates a new figure for Zanya who is Zartan's daughter and heir apparent to the Dreadnoks.

For whatever reason I haven't been getting the e-mails that this thread has been updated so bear with me I have a lot to go through. First if those new 12" figures are the ones that Hasbro will be producing then Sideshow might as well cancel their line since there is no way I'm going to pay $80 for a figure when the $20 Hasbro looks just as good.

For the gentleman thinking about swapping the Fred head on his armored Cobra Commander don't; I fully believe that there will be a version released with the Fred head as well as a snake man version to appease the cartoon fans, like me.

The vehicles look great but I hope some of the vehicles like the Trouble Bubble get single releases so we can buy a few since that was standard Cobra transportation for awhile. By the by, $30 for a Skyfire? Not in this day and age, at least $50 for that jet if not more.

Forget about re-releasing the old toon how about the finish releasing it in the first place! Kid Rhino went down before they could finish releasing some of the toons like GI Joe and Jem so a re-release and continuation is in order. I just had to spend something like $90 bucks on Amazon for a Mint DVD miniseries set with the figures. That's a better deal than E-bay since most of the sellers are charging about that much for a used set without the figures.

Has anyone had problems with the Ripper from the Dreadnock two pack? His non gloved hand is crap to the point that I thought it was broken since it seems like he was missing a TON of mass in his hand. He couldn't hold his rifle and barely held the pincher device. By the by it would've been nice for Hasbro to include instructions as to how to put it together. Speaking of problems the gun on my Sgt. Flash (Ahh ahh) has almost torn away from the cable that is supposed to attach it to his pack. The cable has no give and doesn't stay in the hole. Maybe it's me but I've seen pictures that show a variation of the rifle that has a removable cable from the back of the gun. I do like the extra peg so you can post it in the pack.

I decided to bite the bullet and get a DTC RHINO for my new figures. WOW. That thing is golden but the pegs for the figures are to big for the new 25th anniversary guys so I have to have them stand on their personal stands. The DTC figures do seem appealing so I'm looking to get a couple more. Speaking of which did anyone notice that with the newer Joe figures they've included a second peg on the stand so they have a touch more stability? Also just an aside but the 5-pack and single carded Duke features the reverse flag emblem on his shirt. I like that they threw that in as it gives him a modern military touch.

Ok look no one has gotten back to me about the review of the 3rd draft of the Joe movie script but I do have a joke I've been waiting to use so here it is: They can change everything, have all the roles played by Monkeys as long as they leave Snake Eyes' intro scene 100% as the way I read it.

Well that's all for now. If you don't hear from me until March then you'll know why.

Good points about the figs.

I find it crazy that they did not fix Flash's problem because that happened with my vintage version as well when I was a kid. And now, unless I want to break it, I do not 'plug it in'.

My question is why do the promotional pics of the Ripper and Torch set show Torch with Ripper's gun?

Individual flight pods are a must!

Haven't seen the joe script leaks, so I can't comment.

Because I think that ripper is supposed to have a new weapon that claw jackhammer thing, so they included the old weapon but didn't have any one to hold it so they just used torch to show it was there for anyone who remember the old gun.

Ripper originally came with the jaws of life too. Granted they were non -functioning unlike these, but still he came with both. :-?

It's the hose that connects the air compressor/back pack to the hydraulics of the jaws of life.

I can't beleave that today was such a landmark day as far as building my cobra army goes I picked up both Destro Iron Grenadier Edition and the Crimson Twins comic two pack. They also had all of the other wave three comic two packs as well but I only wanted the Crimson Twins for now.

And I'll be damned if it stays in. I got it to work a bit better once I put some creases in it but it's still not great. This is what should have come with Flash (Ah ahh). Since the hose was packaged in the bottom of the pack under the illustration did anyone else notice that in the Hawk/Scarlet pack they put in her 5-pack silver pistol? I didn't notice it until I was putting Hawk back in his packaging. By the by, for you older collectors; what's the largest number of figures to go into a set? I think at some point later on this year we might see a set of the original 13 Joes together, would be nice. Also going back to what I said a few posts before about the end of the line. 13 waves, 13 original Joes? How about after the 13th wave it's renamed to GI Joe-reinstated?

I want to say 6 is the largest in a single set sold all together at one time, except club exclusives.

Nice idea on the 'Reinstated'. :D Except I think they have started counting new since 2008 started, like Wave 1 2008, or is that just Star Wars?

I love the comic that comes with the crimson twins. I guess I'm going to have to get the snake eyes/storm shadow two pack and the crimson guard/cobra trooper two pack as well because these comic are kind of interesting in that they add something to the plot of the 80's comics. They are kind of like transformers spotlight comics from what I can gather.

Really that all goes back to a rant I had a few pages ago where I said that since 2007 is over they need to stop calling the line the 25th anniversary line. Methinks it's a lost cause though.

Tiger Force Flint. The DVD sets, and the 12"figures especially Flint since he comes with a shotgun with a collapsible stock. That right there made me make a mess of myself.

Has anyone else noticed that Snow Job came with Roadblocks hands? He can only hold his rifle and ski's in one hand. He could've been one of the best figures in the line due to all the accessories but he ends up being one of the worst due to his hand issues. I did realize though that the rifle that he, CB Hawk, and CB Duke come with are based off the same design that they used in the cartoon. I really think they need to do at least one accessory pack that has a few of those rifles done in brown so everybody can have one.

I finally got the 2-disc DVD set with Snake Eyes and if you don't have it, hunt it down because the interview with Ron Friedman on Disc 2 is hysterical. Just like the old days the Snake Eyes figure has a hard time holding his weapons. Gotta love it.

I have to say that SGT. Stalker is one of the figures I always wanted as a kid considering my friend had him and on his file card it said he was one of the founding members of the G.I.JOE team which I always thought was cool. I really can't tell what they updated on him. I hope someone can tell what differences between the original mold and the new mold are.

Are you talking about the 1982 version and this one, or the first model put out in the 25th line with diaper crotch, and then the fixed version with regular crotch?

Cause there are a world of differences between 82 and 08... :D

I was wonder what the difference between the 82 and 08 version, as far as the diaper things goes I guess I got lucky. I have another question about snake eyes version 4 from 2008 wave 3 single pack is he based off figure from the original series of figures or is something brand new created for 25th Anniversary series of figures here a link to help answer the question: http://gijoeclub.com/2008wave3-03.cfm.
