I like the collaborative line. Ecto and Giga were both clear hits, but I like the rest too. Flawed? Yes. But still. Some design decisions have me scratching my head, but I still like the line, in general.
I've made me peace that BB is a big face of the franchise. Beacomber fits the alt. mode, but paying $100+ for him hurts. And then you have a guy all about pacifism paired with a Joe? If they're going to make these name TFs then they may as well go for the big names.
Exactly, I don't see why it's that surprising really. Bee sells, end of. Now if they go for larger figures (should they continue) then we could see Prime and Starscream.
....(dream of Broadside as U.S.S. Flagg)...big toys....
Now there's a HasLab project

Well forget a transforming Flagg. Just having a Flagg SCALE ACCURATE to the classic action figures and jets would be epic enough.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.
First-Aid wrote:If I did my math correctly, a 3.5 inch figure scale accurate USS Flagg would be a tad over 53 feet long.

That could never be a HASLAB, but it could be a unique project Hasbro could make in celebration of a Joe Renaissance. Only one made, exposed at Hasbro HQ or something in an epic display.

Till-all-R1 wrote:Yeah well as much as Bee does sell there is a possibility of oversaturation simply due to people not really needing another version. It makes more sense to go with Beachcomber here period. Especially since they already did a Nest Jeep version of Bee as it is.
At any rate they were so close to doing Hound here it's hilarious, I just hope we get a G1 version sooner rather than later when Deluxe is $40...
At any rate this item is simply not worth almost $70 to me, not when they include a 1980's $4 figure added to a Voyager class at best bot.

But if it was aimed at collectors, why bother with the average person? A collector would most likely know who either Hound or Beachcomber is.First-Aid wrote:Beachcomber doesn't have the wide appeal that Bee does. Yes, I know it's aimed at collectors but I think there is more potential for the AVERAGE PERSON to buy a BB figure than a Beachcomber figure.
Exactly. That's why I think this was aimed more at the average consumer than collectors, especially older fogies like us. I'm likely in the minority, but I'm tired of Bee (especially Bayverse Bee) infecting all facets of the franchise. But like you said, the bottom line is the boss, and in the last 15 years Bee has been a cash cow.ANYTHING to bump the bottom line...

Nah, I'm totally into it.
