Truthfully,
I think this character would be a (Pick a lesser evil) deal. I really think after Bay's need to make a Destroyer transform, a strange obsession as it is, and his detest to do any further car chases (Which again stress my point of why the hell did you pick a franchise revolving around robots that turn into cars!!!!) the sea would be the most likely staging area if this franchise is to be kept on earth, and Trypticon being dormant at the bottom of the sea and Megatron in his weakened state returning to revive this walking fortress as a last stand strategy seems a lesser evil then hoping Bay get's Robots flying into space and battling Unicron right.
Hence the humans can still play a substantial role, hence Bay can still include the Army and mostly the Navy which just seems to be his trademark styling for this franchise, hence leaving one more artifact for Speilbergs goldenboy Shia to run after (The Key to Vector Sigma or such) which is to awaken said Trypticon hence we have the same formula repeated in the first two films, but you leave out the damn twins, focus on your new characters and others which got no screen time really (SOUNDWAVE!!!!! Jolt, Sideways, The surviving bots of the Arcee collective mind or whatever she was) and make Trypticon a BAD A$$ giant robotic Godzilla with missles and lasers and hellfire and not some dumb gimmick like sucking up sand or giant limbs attached to springs with slinky everything to death or water pumps which make Trypticon this giant walking water hose.......and you should be good. I would count this film already better then what my lowered expectations are dreading the third film will be. Maybe make Tidalwave an autobot, going up against Trypticon, that would be a pretty good showdown if it lasts more then 3 minutes. And yes, I will call foul if there is suddenly an armada of Destroyers all carrying the rail gun gimmick.
And if for some weird reasons there are the chosen few which are more then happy with all of Bay's reinventions but will call foul at Tidalwave being an autobot....then we just make another bot all together kay? After the Blackout Bonecrusher Lazarus stunt, I can't see anyone objecting to the invention of a "New" Transformer.
I'm Joshua Vallse, and I'm pro-Trypticon.
That is change I can believe in
