Via a now sourced series of posts from 4chan user Chobedear, we have images of an entirely unexpected Platinum edition set of G1 reissues - featuring the Insecticons, currently on sale in the Philippines with Year of the Goat Optimus Prime (a redeco of the G2 Laser Prime set)! Also of importance is the image of the three Conehead Seekers appearing on the bottom of the package for the featured set. Apparently, the G1 Insecticons are about 100 USD while the YOTG Optimus is about 155 USD. Now, what do you make of that?

Aw sweet! Insecticons and the Seeker Squadron (that's what the Conehead set is called). Me wants some bugs and G1 jets!

Been on my must have list for a while .... And was thinking bout the having a look for them on ebay just the other day... Great timing, however, my priorities are newer g1 related toys.
The coneheads are interesting too... Had two of three as a kid and they haven't survived well... Especially ramjet. Thrust always had a special place cos he was my first decepticon as they weren't available locally. In fact he was my first tf to have proper badges etc as my previous ones were all Italian gig disclose imports.

Yay lets reissue stuff that just got reissued 5 years ago (I am looking at you insecticons). Eh, I might buy these if they come with metallic or some other premium paint job.

A conehead reissue is fantastic news! My vintage Thrust and Ramjet aren't falling apart by any means, but minty fresh ones? Yes please.
May pass on the insecticons. Have a vintage set, the 09 reissues, and the e-hobby Red set that came with Energon cubes. Nice freakin' box though.

Pretty cool! I already have the previous reissue Insecticons and only want Thrust, but it's good news nonetheless. Maybe if it ends up on clearance I'll get the Coneheads.

I'm totally down for these! I don't have any Generation One figures: the closest thing I have is Robots in Disguise Armorhide and Movor, and a pair of KO Aerialbots. Pitiful, I know.
Though the price for the Insecticons is ridiculoso. Approximately $100 for a set of three figures whose previous release nearly five years ago was like what, like $30?

Ack, those seeker re-issues are going to sink me, aren't they. I have G2 Ramjet (which I just adore!) but I've always wanted a proper G1 Thrust. I almost sprang for the Botcon version right before the Classics release, but it wouldn't have been the same...

... 100$ seems a bit steep for the insecticons. from what I've been led to understand, aren't they fairly small figures? from Skrapnel's gallery shot with g1 shrapnel it looks like they are smaller than any given legends figure

over the last year, i have almost bought the ehobby thrust and ramjet like three times. cheapest of which were 150 a piece. so this news, is music to my ears. also ive skipped out on all the insecticon reissues thus far, so double yay!

It's nice that the Insecticons are getting some more love of late, but this is a puzzling release. We already had a reissue of these guys a few years ago. Plus, we just started finally getting "Classics" versions this past year. We're only a Legends Kickback away from a complete set of the traditional trio. The timing is all very odd.

Yeah, I already got Legends Shrapnel and am eagerly awaiting Bombshell (and hopefully Kickback), so I don't really see a point in, well, worse versions.

I had the G1 Insecticons MIB, but the boxes were old, sold them. Got the past Toys R Us release few years back, very nice but box was not that great. I like this new style box and will make a great display, So will be buying this new set if we get a chance to display and can pull out my Toys R Us set.

They were reissued in the US in mid-2009. By the time these come out in the US, it'll be early 2015. That's gonna be near 6 years between releases, a pretty good stretch!

This set is for a different market, one that may not have received the reissue a few years ago. I don't think this is any odder than any of the other Asia-exclusive and "Year of the..." releases.

A few moths ago I got a very beat up (part of it was the guy that sold me it put a price tag on top of a sticker) vintage Bombshell. So I'm kind of excited for this. But 2 things 1. The last reissue didn't come with the energon cubes did it? 2. Aren't the molds for the dinobots lost? I would have expected them to reissue them instead.
