He's not a Titan.
He's Unicron.
He's a class unto himself.
Titans are the biggest of Transformers.

It's especially good since TFSource, unlike other options, has no down payment for their preorder.megatronus wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The high price and short notice are exactly why I opted to go with the more feasible route of preordering Unicron from TFSource and saving up the money over the steady course of a year and a half.

They already made a smaller Unicron if you want one. Making Unicron a Titan would be a sleight against Titans.

Pfft! I’d settle for Leader class. I don’t need something that big to appreciate it.
It’s too big and too expensive. I commend anyone contributing but I can’t justify it. You can’t play with something that big. Dust collector

Limit five per transaction, or units total, not five per backer.
They’re waiting for 8,000 Unicrons.

I'm not asking the literal meaning. I'm noting that, contrary to Sabr's statement, TFsource does appear to in fact require a down payment.

Again, would if I could, but it's beyond me. I'm a highschooler only barely managing to budget in my collection. I won't be able to get together the money in time, and with my current situation saving up for over a year isn't a good alternative either.
Dragologer- Um...I'm a highschooler. I got the money together. all depends on your priorities.

Pretty sure that was a late addition. There was a lot of talk about TFSource being the better option since they didn't require a deposit while BBTS did.
BTW, Unicron already added 29 orders since that last article went up overnight. That's a little promising way to start the week.

It's like this: It doesn't matter if this Unicron is funded or not. There will always be another one. This one will simply end up alongside the G1 and BW Neo counterparts. The Mega Corporation will likely pay for the next one themselves too, like the rest of the line
I mentioned before, several pages back probably. A Unicron in the Titan Class would have made more sense than a crowd funding oddity. Titan Class represent the Big Boys. Those at the end of the spectrum, that scale doesn't really apply to. So far it has been 3/4 City Bots and maybe, the new SIEGE Omega Supreme (although I don't know the specifics on his new height offhand).
How I would justify it, are they bigger than a Gestalt? If Yes, they go in Titan Class. It would be asinine to make a further class beyond that as realistically it would only apply to one figure - Unicron, and potentially two retool/decos, in Primus/Cybertron and Atlas/Earth. That in itself would lead to the pricing issue that has emerged with this figure. As long as he is an inch or two taller than Fort Max he will look much bigger anyway, due to his Planet Mode. Trying to assign any kind of grander scale to him is really silly.

Unfortunately some people do have more money than sense. This crowdfunding, if successful, paves the way for exclusive figures-on-demand, which is a dangerous road to go down. Some still don't see it...

I think there would be worse compromises made to a titan unicron, especially to make it a perfect sphere alt and have it's robot mode be accurate.

How so? You make it sound like a perfect sphere is something previously impossible to shellforming, at a lower price point, which it isn't. Shellformers exist at every level of the line, albeit it to varying degrees of success.
Plus, other than the Armada Unicron, there still isn't an accurate Robot Mode, even with the HasLab one.

__scaled_800.jpg)
^ That, still doesn't look like this:

You're doing a disservice to the already impressive updates that exist within the Titan Class line, especially Generations Trypticon, by somehow saying they aren't good enough. When all of them are superior in every way to the slabs of plastic they came from originally.

I really don't get why you continue to rag on it, AllNew, I know you dislike the preordering system here but it makes perfect business sense and I think your fears are unfounded, especially since star wars toys are still doing fine after the barge. I think you're being a wee bit paranoid
