Mogwai Prime wrote:Now I think we're talking two different things. You want something to showcase the last six years (which I am in total agreement with and support).
I am talking something we could do like the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild or Oscars. Letting the factions and players vote yearly on awards to be given out to the people that currently play the game. Kind of like an award ceremony for those who gave something extra to the game over the past year and made it that much more enjoyable for everyone.

No, initially I was wanting awards for the last six years, but I know there's a lot of opposition towards players who have left (something which I don't think is deserving) so I conceeded that rather than ranting and raving trying to get my point across, to just change it to try to accommodate the most logical way to celebrate the past six years.

Jeep? wrote:I'm all for having the first round of awards for the pre-reset crowd, and letting all the other ones be for the post-reset crowd. It's only fair that the past five or six years is given at least some modicum of reminiscence, rather than being paved over by what will, given V2's progress, end up as a flash in the pan compared to the previous state of things. One pre-reset awards dealie can't be that contentious an issue, if everyone actually looks at it fairly rather than coming at it wtih a "hey, I wasn't a big dog then!" attitude. I wasn't a big dog for most of it either, yanno. I'm gonna grab another beer.

Jeep? wrote:I don't really like the idea of voting in faction forums, since they aren't trafficked as much. And I figure voting would be done based on current faction - I mean, I spent four years as a Decepticon but I'm very strongly Predacon now.

My only point was that HMW is still being played and allthose that are playing now should be included in the festivities not because of ego, but because they've earned it...regardless of where they stand in the rankings.

And several posts have already responded/pointed out that the FIRST set of awards is for the pre reset. There will be more....your beastly ego can be fed over and over.
Galvatron Supreme wrote:My post had absolutely nothing to do with a "beastly ego". It had everything to do with the fact that there are many extraordinary players that have dedicated their time to V1 post-reset. Conjorous, nightelfcrawler, Revenge of Starscream, KYAC, Max_Prime, to name just a few.

What would we call this?
A Botty Award?

Only if we rename the six year one "Ghostly Riders".
Yeah ... that was bad. I like the Rice-Cies.
I also like them every 6 months. Gives more people a chance!
Mogwai Prime wrote:I like the Rice-Cies, but alot of newer people won't understand it I don't think. Even if explained to them I don't think they will fully grasp it. Plus do we really want to give credit to what he did, even in a sense of sarcasm?
