Figured since it came up here and not just in Iacon I'd see if I could get a response here too...

Any progress on getting the Bot Alts rotating again? I've been waiting for some of the common ones to come back so I don't have to waste time & energon on armoring up Alts I don't want.

It's also a bit of a bugger cause I had this idea for an Alt hunt over Thanksgiving that I couldn't do since the Alts were unavailable.

I don't know what Psych has in store for the next event but if it's anything to alt hunting the Bots are gonna have issues. (not to mention any of my future Bot-Only contests...)

Ryan told me how to fix this earlier. I've just finished resetting every common alt in the game, but I'll leave the rares as they are for now. The last rotation just happened this morning, so it will be another three days before the common alts begin to reappear. They should, however, begin cycling again in 3 days

If you go onto the registry page, there should be ab option called alt modes next to edit team. If you click that it will show you what's currently available. Which is just Core alts at the moment.

This error should be correct. This error was introduced when I changed a lot of the integer fields to unsigned, not realizing some of the consequences. The data should have been unsigned in this case anyways, because there's a field that flags if the battle is a win, loss, or draw. I changed the field from "energon_winnings" (which previously accepted signed numbers i.e. negative numbers such as -500 instead of just unsigned numbers which are only positive numbers) to "energon_amount" because we don't need to store positive and negative numbers here. I tested it a couple dozen times and saw the results I expected to see. Once the logic was changed and tested, I updated all of the previous historical records which should now show the correct results. Please let me know if it's not working as expected. Thanks.

I also changed some of the verbiage on that page and cleaned up a little bit of the HTML to tide us over until the full blown site redesign.

It won't be. We're using HTML to display an off-site image to display in the mission text. It's a temporary thing and experimental. Once we worked out the bugs I was going to ask you to add a HMW section to the image uploader.

But if you could make a more WYSIWYG mission text editor I won't say no to that either!

FYI ... Nail's should be Nails or NAILS. There shouldn't be an "apostrophe s" at the end of it, as it's not possessive.

I modified the code in the dashboard to strip out HTML from the brief descriptions and the victory and defeat messages.

The idea of these missions is a special occasion and a way to make them obvious, and the only people who have access to the HTML are the two site staff for HMW, of which I am not included.

I've spent a ton of time trying to find various ways to improve forum activity and create new ways to enjoy the game working alongside the staff and whilst I appreciate you are the owner, it's a bit of kick in the teeth that you can just pop up and put a stop to it without explanation. This has been in planning for quite a while.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean by this. If you are referring to the mission quotes, they are tournament-specific original texts.

Because it wasn't intended that way. No one approached me about this idea either. I wasn't aware that there was a topic about future planning for things like this. Actual things like adding html to fields where it wasn't originally intended should be discussed via staff email and shouldn't be discussed first via the public forums. It looks like this only affected a few mission briefs so fortunately I caught this before you guys spent too much time working on something that I don't want on the missions.

I appreciate you wanting to find ways to promote the game and make improvements to it. I rapidly built the dashboard section to help out Darryl so that he could start managing the content. The goal was to achieve functionality where none had been before. However, I didn't put in checks for everything to prevent HTML being added where it shouldn't be added and things of that nature.

It looks like the briefs were being copied and pasted from a WYSIWYG editor of sorts, which was producing odd characters and complicated HTML stylings which I don't want on the site nor in the database. Having this type of content copy and pasted into a textarea is also a potential security risk for Seibertron.com's database, one that I don't have time to rectify at this time so I just plugged the hole, so to speak, until such a time that I can look into this further. Changes like that should be discussed amongst staff first privately so that I can contemplate how I want to implement things like adding images, or whether or not I want to have images in the mission text.

Use of the word "Nails" is fine. It was just being written incorrectly as Nail's with an apostrophe "s" at the end of it. It doesn't need an apostrophe and should just be written as Nails.

That's called hotlinking, and the site where the image originates could manipulate the image to be whatever they wanted it to be (such as porn, hate speech, whatever), and then those images would display on Seibertron.com instead of the original image you intended. It's one thing to let you guys post images from other sites on our forums, but on the more "official" areas of the site such as the news section or HMW, the images should always be hosted on our server to avoid these types of problems.

A WYSIWYG tool could potentially get around that issue, but then it opens up problems with different font sizes, colors, and other things that look unprofessional and that I don't want to deal with.

Either the xp calculator is way off(it was giving me that much I could add to my character's stats theoretically under my character's current xp total, which would be a little over the 40 million mark), or the stat upgrades on character upgrade page is way off/bugged.

Could you please re-add them for the duration of this tourney round (a week)?
(although the images were too large and needed to be reduced by approx 20% to fit properly, I was discussing that with Burn when you altered them.)

I edited and trimmed the images, but only have access to 3rd party sites so had no other option than to hotlink them, so that's on me.

I am certain that both Burn and Wingz would very much appreciate functionality like that going forward though.

Hopefully, future rounds shouldn't break the game in the same way, but I'll try and warn you if I think it will.
