But until one is in place then people can play however long they want via whatever means that are available to them provided it doesn't go against the rules.

If people have that much free time, let'em spend it however they want. If they have something else they should be doing and just aren't doing it, that's their own problem, not the fault of the game. Besides, how would you control something like that? "You got X deployments a day"? Then you're going to see people with much smaller teams. You'll also end up with less competetion, and in that case, it might as well be HMW USA, HMW Australia, HMW England, because it'll break down to the people who are either up all night and only play late night so they can play with others in other timezones, or only playing with people from your country.

Mobile aplications are something that really oughta be discussed at a much later date at a time when they are likly to be devleoped, I just hope if/when such a discussion takes place, it isnt scuppered by the top players own selfish concerns (I know it wont be scuppered by mine).

The reason? HMW is designed to generate traffic (and related) for Seibertron.com only.
The game and website are designed to compliment each other, attract even more traffic and deliver the 'complete' Transformers experience. To separate them makes no sense from a web design or administration perspective, and is counter to good website management techniques, regardless of how addictive the game.
The very best you guys can hope for is for a cut-down version of the entire site including game so it fits in phone browsers, but don't hold your breath.
I know it would be nice, but that's just fact. Why would Ryan generate revenue for other sites using his game?
As for a time limit, the jury is still out on that one. I'm against it, but that doesn't mean that my opinion is necessarily right.except all the time.
Only the fuzzball can decide...

OS was adding in spark-points to his version of the game that added a relative time limit, when they ran out you could still play on but you couldn't transform until they replenished. I have no idea what Moggy is planning for this, if anything, though so cant really comment further.
Personally; I'm up for level caps that are only extended with expansions, so you can play as hard as you want to get to them, but you cant advance till the expansion is out. That'll slow the no-lifers down, and keep the playing field a bit closer but will only work if there is stuff to do within those caps to keep people playing and interested and relies of constant and regular expansions.
And before the inevitable backlash of those who haven't got a clue what they are talking about begins; the level structure is changing so its XP not upgrades based, and there will be more than 11 levels...

I said early on in the wishlist thread that I thought players who made relevant and interesting storylines should be able to find them added into the game, we've certainly got the talent here, is it possible that this could be a way to do it?
I'll admit, I may be thinking too much in terms of an MMORPG, and Moggy may not have it planned like this, but if we are to avoid a huge disparity in levels this may the best option.
Thoughts?

Something of a carry along story...Interesting, that makes me think in terms of one of those books that if you choose to open the right door it tells you to go to page *** while if you choose the left you go somewhere else and the out come is different.
Start off beginner mission 1 could have four out comes. 2 wins 2 losses. which do pick Leveling up to get there in to process. Which will also mean we'd have mission endings not just so-and-so win and get the objective done. Theoretically you could do all set story lines as you went being that it does take a while to level up.
Or if you wanted terms and conditions of how the mission was won may unlock the next section of story text.
Same thing could be done on a 'arena' kind of train, though I was thinking on a "Ironbot"ing kind of way. Win one, X amount of story win two more story perhaps X amount more of XP, and so on. Only those that have won two would fight each other in the second round and up.
With out knowing what the furball is up to is hard to do anything.

And Time Limit = Kanye West.
And Better Leveling/level limits = Jesus
AND Optimus Prime = Robot Jesus,
Then Kanye West = The Suck, and Does not equal Jesus. Kayne West, he's not Jesus.
User stories can be good, can be bad. Depending on if it's open to anyone, or just people who can write well, or at least contribute some plots. You also need to keep all of the writers/contributers on the same narrative, so you don't end up with conflicting stories. It also needs to be something open enough to allow for a lot of creativity, since you know that there's going to be people making team background stories that are just wild and crazy, so something should be open enough to allow/account for them. You also need to be able to tell people "No thanks." when they contribute bad ideas/bad writing. Also, when working with fanfiction writers, I don't care how well written the story may be, a lot of times people write Mary-Sue/Gary Stew characters. If you don't know what that is, google it.
And keeping characters in character, that's pretty important.

Totally agree and already considered. More will become clear later, depending on whether Moggy decides to add this feature or not.Absolute Zero wrote:You also need to keep all of the writers/contributers on the same narrative, so you don't end up with conflicting stories.
If it helps, the staff are working on a simple non-invasive backstory for the game that will accommodate those who prefer something with a bit of a twist, but also remain firmly in the transformers theme for the purists, and allow for game expansions when ready. I think we've got enough comic/cartoon/roleplayer types here that we're never likely to run dry of expanded game stories...
SPOILER!: It's set on Cybertron.

I think it goes without saying that nearly everyone on the board would like to contribute something, either writing or at least some ideas.

It's hard to tell how many people want to write.
So many teams without BIOS makes me think some people don't want to.
