The Energon Pub

It was a clear and sunny day in San Diego. There was an old abandon military base that was now home to the Autobots. From the outside it looked like any other military base, but inside was a different story. High tech computers beyond anything that was seen on earth were seen all over. The Autobots had redesigned the inside. Two 'bots were seen at computer consoles. Their names were Burn and Outline.

"Hey, Burn, I'm bored!" Outline said to him. "Let's skip this joint and go have some fun."

"Sounds good to me." Burn said as he got up, Outline following behind. They began to walk to the doors, and once outside, transformed to their alt-modes and took off.

"What you got in mind?" Burn asked Outline as they made their way towards the city limits.

"Let's race! Unless you're too scared I'll beat you." Outline said to him.

"You're on!!" Burn said. He began to speed up, getting ahead and away from Outline.

"Slag!" Outline said as he saw. He too sped up, catching up with him.

There was open road for some time, but once they hit the city, they ran into traffic. As soon as the traffic began to move, and they found some openings, they began to weave in and out of it. To the normal person, it appeared that two reckless drivers were street racing. Horns could be heard as the two cut people off and got too close to some bumpers. But that didn't stop them, not even a few red lights. Burn and Outline were young for their race, and had only been on earth for about a month, so they weren't use to all the laws yet.

Back at base, Prowl made his rounds. Making sure the base was in order before Optimus Prime's visit. When he saw that Burn and Outline were not at their station, which they were supposed to be tracking Decepticon activity in the area, he was not happy.

"Where are Burn and Outline?" Prowl asked aloud.

"They left the base, sir." another informed him.

"Oh really?" Prowl said. He knew that they were young and thrill seeking 'bots, and could only imagine what the two scouts could be up to.

"You can't beat me Outline!!" Burn said over the comlink as they raced.

"That's what you think!" Outline said back.

A few feet ahead, a woman in a SUV was pulling out of a gas station and into the flowing traffic. Burn was getting close and couldn't stop in time nor be able to maneuver around the vehicle. He did the only thing to keep from crashing into it, and that was transforming. Once in bot mode, he jumped over the SUV and transformed back just before hitting the road. He took off and sped away, taking a right turn onto a side road. He pulled off of it and into a shopping plaza, where he parked.

"Burn! Where the frag are you?" Outline said when he saw Burn wasn't on the main road anymore. Outline pulled off, going down the same side road.

"Over here." Burn said as he saw Outline pass the plaza. Outline did a quick u-turn and joined him in the parking lot.

"Burn!! Outline!! Get back to base now!" Prowl said over their comlinks. "I know what you two have been doing out there, and I'm not happy."

Burn and Outline both sighed as they began to move, pulling back onto the main road and heading back. They made sure to keep to the traffic laws this time.

Once they got back, they transformed and walked in. They saw their commander, Prowl, talking with Optimus Prime and Ironhide. Optimus had come to the base to see how things were going and Ironhide had accompanied him. Prowl stopped talking for a moment as he saw the two walk up.

"Let me handle this." Optimus Prime said to Prowl as he turned to see them. "Burn, Outline. Prowl tells me that you two were out street racing. Do you know how reckless that is?" Optimus said to them. "I understand that you are new to this planet, but you can't be going out there and endangering the inhabitants. You could have killed a human."

"Almost did." Burn said looking to the ground, remembering how close he was to crashing into that SUV. Outline looked to Burn. "Sir, I speak for the both of us. I'm sorry for what we did. We didn't want to hurt anyone, we just wanted to go out and have some fun. We were getting.....bored." he said now looking up to Optimus Prime who was at least ten feet taller then the two scouts.

"I see." Optimus said. "I know the Decepticons are being unusually quite these days, but we can't let our guard down. But I do understand that we need our free time too. If you two want to stretch your wheels, I suggest doing that here."

"So, we're off the hook then?" Outline said looking to him.

"That's not my decision, but your commanders." Optimus said to him. Burn and Outline looked towards Prowl. Prowl smiled at them. They knew they wouldn't be off the hook that easy. Prowl was an ex-cop, and knew that he would have something planned for them.

Aw, it was very sweet but shorter than I was expecting. It reminds me of one of those cartoon shorts where very quick moral lessons were drilled into kids between the regular cartoons. XP

Thanks!! That was what I was going for. Kind of learn a lesson story. But I do tend to do more stories with those two characters.
