First post here on Seibertron, though i've been reading posts on this site for quite a while now. I thought i'd start off with something that's been bugging me for ages: why are people still confused about where the pyramids and Petra are in relation to each other in the Bayverse? It is very clearly and explicitly explained in ROTF through props, dialogue, context and the enviroment that both the pyramids and Petra are located on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, AKA the northeastern Red Sea. The pyramids are on the floor of the Arabah valley 3 miles/5 kilometers to the west of the gulf with Petra being atop the coastal mountains to the east.

It's also shown through dialogue that the Jetfire exposition scene, Egyptian police chase scene and checkpoint scene take place on the Sinai peninsula 100 miles west of the northeastern Red Sea. The Gulf of Aqaba is first shown on a GPS satellite image, preceded by the line "here's what my CIA contact says, ancient Sumerians used to call the Gulf of Aqaba The Dagger's Tip." The gulf is later shown circled and marked DZ/drop zone on the map shown to General Morshower. Two sets of coordinates are also given, 29.5 north 34.88 east and 29.5 north 35.88 east, both of which lead to the real Gulf of Aqaba. 29.5 north 34.88 east leads to a point just west of the Egyptian town of Taba and 29.5 north 35.88 east leads, according to my Google Earth-based research, to a patch of water next to a pier in the Jordanian town of Aqaba. Heavily fictionalised versions of Eilat and Aqaba can seen throughout the pyramid scenes. There are also multiple sets of pyramids in ROTF, one set on Sinai and another in the Gulf of Aqaba. Israel also doesn't exist yet at the time of ROTF. I think/hope i've made my point. And i would suggest having a look at the Gulf of Aqaba on Google Earth. Like Tahiti it's a magical place. Edit: and that short Egyptian officer is a General going by his rank insignia.
