Well, with Tony Starks ingenuity he'd be bale to rig up something to override the mecha, plus he's small and fast enough to out maneuver anything they throw at him.

Stark is pretty smart. It'd be a close one. There are a lot of mecha. He can beat some and not others.

As long as they are fighting in the atmosphere. None of Tony's suits are built for long-term exoatmospheric fighting except for the Space Armors, and even then I don't think they have the deep-space endurance that the big mechs do. Also, the last version of the Space Armor ("Lunar Armor") is pre-SKIN, pre-Ablative, pre-Extremis so it's fairly primitive, compared to his latest suit.

EDIT: Also, we should mention that the Extremis abilities are inherent to Tony. I don't think at this point that anyone else could even pilot his suit because it depends so much on the Extremis.

Most can beat him. If they hit him fairly hard, his fleshy body wouldn't survive. His organs would be crushed against his bones during the impact. He'd die in seconds. Even a small car could kill him. Sorry Tony but you're not iron at all.
