I have the Legacy Black Zarak, Black Roritchi, and the DNA Design upgrade kit. With all of these, I thought that my BZ was "complete".

WRONG!

Just look at the picture showing the G1 original with all of its bits:



As you can see, some parts are missing. The gray city mode bits.

At first, I was using the Centurion drone to fill that role, but it didn't really worked. then I had the idea to customise the Earthrise Ironworks to make HIM into the city mode bits.

After a layer of silver paint all over, and a set of Reprolabels, SILVERWARE was complete!

By himself, he look really nice:





Despite the unfortunate lack of 5mm ports (or compatible screw holes) Silverware is perfect as the city bits!









It's super simple, yet effective.

So, what do you think?

I was thinking about Black Zarak's personality. I'm not sure that he has the patience to sit around being a Decepticon city for long periods. I think that he'd rather be plotting strategy and then going to battle. Anyone living inside this city-bot is not going to have a comfortable life! At least they would have many useful tools and facilities.

Well, in Masterforce he was hidden in base mode for a while before he revealed himself as the big baddie.

This was a very clever idea, and I like the name choice. Good way to solve the problem. I know that there are 3D print sets on Cults 3D, but this works as well. Nicely done.

The DNA kit really doesn't bring much to the table for city mode, IMO.

And yeah, the city mode was completely forgotten with BOTH DNA sets for Scorponok and the double set for Zarak.

If anyone have a fully equipped ER Scorponok but want the city bits, they could do the same as I did and paint an Ironworks in full orange.
But one thing that I noticed. With normal spray paint, the Premier Silver that I use spray very thin, cover well, and is quick to dry. Meanwhile, the colors for Krylon and such spray THICK and take an extremely long time to dry. Plus, like yellow, orange is see-through towards the previous colors. I'd recommend a silver base first.

Man, that ironworks already looks really nice on his own, kinda want one.

If you're lucky, you can still find one used for cheap. Even on eBay, if you conveniently disregard the shipping cost.

Eh, I'm in the U.S. shipping is never a problem on Ebay unless it's an Asian seller.

And now I just had a thought- how would a steampunk version of this mold look?

"Steampunkingiign" it would be pretty easy. Make sure the thing remains transformable when adding the extra parts, like gluing/screwing in some random gears from salvaged scraps or even some extra "piston" parts like the ones found on ROTF/HFTD Longhaul, then a bit of metallic paint and you're golden.

Repeat the process on some more ER deluxe baseformers and you can get yourself an nice TF Steampunk city!
