Hitting stores? Smells like an understatement. More like bombarding stores with the fury of ten thousand burning suns.

Hell, I wouldn't even worry. Not only are there more individual units than there is cheese in Wisconsin, but little kids are barely ever in Costco (the two in my post are an exception), leaving the toy tree ripe for the picking for us collectors.

If I were their age from back in the day, my parents would've bought me Cyber Slammers or Fast Action Battlers. :(

Dude, TFs are ultimately made to be smashed together like that. They're toys. I remember myself hating Beast Wars the show and not getting the toys (because the theme song scared me when I was a kid, don't ask why), but going over to a friend's house and seeing his Rattrap (or Cheetor) and bashing the living Hell out of it against my broken Stretch Armstrong (best toy EVER) because they were fighting in a war. Then my friend tells me, "No, he's a good guy," and I had them both slam against one of my Small Soldiers toys.

The kids are going to play with them, and you know? I like that. When I went to Wal-Mart the other day, there was a kid and his mom looking at the new Voyagers. The kid didn't know what to get, and his mom was trying to help, showing him Megatron and Optimus a lot, and the kid was non-plussed. The kid then looked at a Star Wars Transformer, and he put it down because apparently he didn't like Star Wars. And this kid was like 4 or 5, mind you. Then they start looking at Real Gears, and while they're turned around I grab my Voyager Optimus and Rescue Ratchet, and start to walk off, but not without saying to myself, aloud on purpose, "This one's really cool," and the kid and the mom leave. Not 2 minutes later, they come back and the kid is in the cart pointing at the Prime I have in my hand saying "I want that one!". Made me think about how much fun I had with that BW toy (but still not wanting him because the theme song scared me... I know, right?), and how much fun he'll have with Optimus.

What angers me is when I see people on here disliking the fact that kids are getting these toys too. When we're gone, or when we're done with the hobby, the ones that are going to continue this thing are them. They're built for kids, and even though the movie toys are a bit complex, you know what? They'll still have fun. You think they're going to just give up on transforming them? No. They'll do what we did: ask their moms and dads. And then kids and parents will sit together and have quality time (something that this generation of kids doesn't get enough of) transforming these things, and the parents might get annoyed, but just for the joy coming from the children they're enjoy it too (if they're good parents at all).

The G1 toys, even in the commercials, were built to be crashed and smashed and thrown around. I've seen some of these Diaclone commercials, and I see these kids making their toys fly into each other, and them doing ridiculous things with the bases and the accessories, and that's what they're doing with the new toys, is having Darth Vader fight Optimus Prime in a battle to the death, and when Vader has Prime cornered, Spiderman comes in and beats the sh*t out of Vader, and then Vader calls in Venom for back up, and Prime calls in Bumblebee to beat up Venom. Also, Prime throws his weapon at Vader, breaking the weapon's spring mechanism in the process, and Vader breaks off Prime's foot and flushes it down the toilet. Oh, and Spiderman can fly. Because ridiculously stupid crossover toy battles that cause the loss of at least 4 toy parts are what make childhood awesome.

Why dos everyone seem to h8 kids all of a sudden? They got the toys first, so why are you insulting them?

Ah, that brings me nastalgia from my old cross-figure line battles. But I do agree, toys are meant to be played with. And sometimes, kids do dumb things. I had a T-Rex Junior(well, still have) from Jurrassic Park, and one day I decided to cut one of it's fingernails(claws) off. Don't know why, but I did, and yet I still played with it regardless. Oh yeah, and the arm that that finger was on kept falling off, and I think the tail was missing a piece, but oh well. I had some G.I. Joes with no fingers, Gobots/Transformers/Turtles missing arms or legs, random pieces missing off other figures, broken stuff, but I still had a blast.

Toys aren't made to last forever, they're made to be fun. They get broken, oh well, it's not like those are the only ones in existence.
