Nah, lots better transformer games out there -a few of the Baynus games were better, Devestation and Saints Row 4.
Plus none of them had Earth mode dinobots on Cybertron before they got to Earth.
Would have thought the new game might have had Netflix WFC skins as a dlc but maybe that will happen at some point if the GI Joe game might be getting extra content.

When it comes to alt modes, you have to take into consideration the function of the character in the fiction. Why was Soundwave a tape deck to begin with? It had to do with his function as the Cons' communications specialist. Sure, a tape deck itself might be outdated, but Soundwave shouldn't be turning into just some random vehicle in a fight. As the one responsible for short and long range communications, he shouldn't be fighting anyway, unless it's absolutely necessary. Ironically Soundwave was 1 of the best Con fighters in G1 when he wasn't sending messages.TF-fan kev777 wrote:Here is the thing for me with Soundwave and any potential Blaster retool. I really don't need a tape deck alt mode anymore.
This feeling really started for me in Titans Return, where I would put the whole line out on my pool table for a battle. Then convert them all to alt modes so they could charge each other. Then realize that a boom box can't do crap in this scene, so I had to load Blaster onto Fort Max and Soundwave onto Trypticon. Then it hit me, a tape deck is a really dumb alt mode for the year 2020.
So as meh as Siege Soundwave's space barge might be, it is still more fun for me personally that a tape deck.
Tl;Dr Soundwave needs a special alt mode that separates him from the others. Hence tape deck in G1, the satellite in Bayverse and the drone in Prime. But what else could he be?

Back when Classics/Universe/Generations was more about "updating" classic G1 characters for the 21st century, I had always envisioned Soundwave's new alt mode being as surveillance truck of some sort. Similarly, I envisioned Blaster as one of those SUVs that's been outfitted with a state of the art sound system, like the kind you see in competitions for the loudest bass in an automobile.

I think surveillance truck is a great idea, because it matches his function as mentioned above. The drone alt mode was also pretty cool. As far as the machine wars and cybertron soundwave alt modes go, they were cool but didn't quite fit. I don't mind the boombox alt mode because its unique, he can still fly in robot mode, and thats the whole point with the cassette minions. I'm loving netflix soundwave because I have yet to get MP Soundwave and never got siege version either. But updated alt modes in the future like a surveillance truck, drone, or satellite with a bot mode that still looks like the original soundwave would be great

There was such a design suggested for Movie Soundwave many years ago.

Regardless, my point was that whatever he turns into, his alt mode should maximize his abilities relating to his function as a communications specialist. He shouldn't be just another soldier.

I prefer Soundwaves who aren't just trucks or jets (with or without "sound" tech like speakers, etc) but rather stuff that most Transformers don't turn into like his boombox, satellite or Prime drone plane modes.
Soundwave is cooler when he stands out amongst the cast (besides his voice) and not just another truck or jet since it just homogenizes the cast, which is also why I prefer Megatron's who are tanks or some other ground vehicle, etc instead of a jet because when every Decepticon can fly it's pretty boring, plus making Megatron a ground vehicle both balances his "power level" and gives a reason for why he may keep Starscream around.
Similar would go to Blaster but he hasn't been officially depicted with a diverse set of alternate modes like Soundwave, he tends to be a truck if he isn't a boom-box. (Which reminds me, no remold of Siege/ER Soundwave as a Blaster so far has been really disappointing to me personally since he's a fave of mine.)

No, not completely. The parts that form his Backpack on the Siege version are left out of the Netflix version. So you can get close bot not completely there as the top would be missing for the lamp post.

If you're talking about the animation lamp post in the siege netflix series, I believe it did. But if you mean the animation lamp post from the G1 cartoon, then no if I remember correctly soundwaves chest served as the lamplight and he just kind of hunched over with his arms out

Yes, and in addition in G1, his legs merged into a single "post" for the lamp, so no matter what the Siege version is just an approximation of G1.

I meant the G1 animation. I guess then the retool can do the closer to G1 animation lamp post. Who knows, someday we might get an actual G1 Soundwave lamp.

The Siege version can do that to, just combine the legs in the ship-mode configuration.

So I'm trying to decide about getting the Nemesis Prime in this line or the POTP version. Any recommendations? I kind of like the whole Nemesis Pax into Nemesis Prime thing going on with the POTP version and the fact he's actually leader class size. But this Netflix one looks good too.

I have the PotP version and will also be getting the Netflix version. Not sure on whether I will keep the PotP version long term or not. The transformation for the cab to the smaller robot mode is pretty boring, but the transformation to the larger bot mode is nice and fun. The black color really helps to hide how ugly the back of the cab and the front of the trailer are on the regular OP version, and the extra weapons are nice, but mostly also duplicated for the Netflix version.
Having both molds already, if I was to choose only 1, it would probably be Netflix.

Oddly enough I'm thinking about getting 2 of the Netflix Nemesis Primes, just so I can have a G2 Styled Trailer for Optimus.
