I'll take Primus and Unicron over Quintessons any day. It makes for a much better origin story.

I can only assume THEY are the Quintessons, from the G1 series.
One can only hope, but they won't be floating heads that's for sure.
Well, the Quintessons weren't ALL floating heads. There was actually quite a bit of variety among them; the ones with the five faces are just the more famous.

That "hand" of the creators reminded me of the thirteen primes.

Yes that's very true, and I have a puggel to prove it.

Might be something just in Canada, but it's like $5 more then a standard 3D ticket, and has reserved seating.

I agree, while in RotF and DotM there is more plot holes than actual plot, this time everything seems to be more or less "in place". I quess it is thanks to the fact that this time we don't get too much retcons. Sadly, if some people can't understand that it was SAID that THE FALLEN can't be killed by noone but Prime I except a lot of people while find easily expleindable plot holes here (For example, Optimus using his Shild to fly, it is so simple, I really don't understand all this jet pack theories)SlyTF1 wrote:Just saw AOE for the third time. Now, I'm convinced that anyone having a hard time following the story is just saying that because they don't want to admit that a TF movie actually had an interesting story without a bunch of annoying humor.
Exactly. G1 was long ago, many fans wants to see it the same way it was back in 1894.ZeroWolf wrote:It also doesn't help that a lot of people remember G1 a lil bit differently then how it actually was. They seem to be of the opinion that it was the best toon ever but just cause you were first doesn't mean you're the best, characters can still be refined.
Megatron still is Decepticon leader, and he always was. The Fallen was for him more a spiritual master than military or official superior. And he was working with him for a price. And Sentinel and Megatron were allies. At least that is a concept behind this, sadly, both movies were ruined thanks to the Bay's Overconfidence and lack of talent, at least in therm of "pure Creativity."In G1, no matter how often the Decepticons were defeated, it was (almost) always clear that Megatron was in command. Not The Fallen, not Sentinel, Megatron.
But in the movies, he's always being upstaged, by The Fallen, then Sentinel, then Lockdown.
All in all, I'm going to watch this movie again, there is more thing I like about it. In fact, i Belive this could be what RotF supposed to be. Lockdown as a mysterious vilian with a lot information about nature of Universe and Cybertronians seems to be The Fallen done right, and Galvatron is what Megatron always supposed to be. Even Optimus isn't protected only by plot anymore. So for me, it's the real sequel and spiritual succesor of 2007 movie. Even if it never will be as good as Transformers: Prime. I just wish they spare this 5 years wasted on Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon. Maybe then, Bayformers would be in much better condition now.
But I'm still pissed of, how Galvatron couldn't get a single kill?

What is love? Baby don't hurt me, Don't hurt me, no more.

So looks like the Nostalgia Critic doesn't like the movie..

He even brings up Michael Bays teleprompter incident(which I still think people were being too hard on him about. He's only human like the rest of us)

Oh a review of a Transformers movie and the reviewer takes a pot shot at Michael Bay?
Now that's a first!
Seriously ... I don't think any other director cops so much flack from reviewers like Bay does. Credit to the man for not listening to them.

I was just wondering what he thought of the movie, today.
All his argument is, is that it's the same thing again. There was a fight in the air. Where was that in the last 3 movies? They were on an alien space ship. Where did we see that in the last 3 movies? There was a fight in the middle of a field. Where was that in the last 3? There was a fight at a construction sight / oil refinery... place. Where was that in the last 3? His argument is invalid.

What about Uwe Boll? Of course Bay could do take a leaf out of his book and challenge his critics to a boxing match.

The problem I have with the argument with "It's all the same thing" is that essentially that the majority of the series since G1 have been the same thing: two factions of alien robots trying to beat the scrap out of each other (the only real exceptions I can think of is the Playskool Go-Bots and the recent Rescue Bots). Hell, I just watched the old G1 series, and most of the episodes consist of two basic plots that I can recall: fighting over an energy source or a fight over new weapon. So it's a moot argument in my opinion.
Another thing; the Critic mentions Bay's tendency to "Rah rah, go America!" While Bay does have a tendency to do that, especially in the Transformers film, apparently he missed the fact that the American military is a relatively minor role in AoE; the Transformers hunters are part of the CIA, and they're targeting ALL Transformers, regardless of faction. And the *one* character who is all "America is great" is the villan.

Transformers: Age of Extinction Bigger in China than US
- Motto: "Increase efficiency.... Or be terminated."
- Weapon: Shoulder-Mounted Mega-Blast Missile Cannons
According to Variety Magazine , Transformers: Age of Extinction is making more money in China than it is in the US. Numbers released Tuesday by the China Movie Media Group, a partner in the production of AoE, report that the film made $134.5 million in China, versus the $121 million made in the United States after five days in theatres. The film has also broken the record set by, “The Monkey King,” a production of China-Hong Kong, which grossed $133 million across 11 days—and it has done so in half the time.
It’s likely at this point that the fourth installment of the live action movies will surpass “Avatar’s” record of $217.7 million in China. It is pretty rare for a Hollywood film to surpass its stateside gross in a foreign country, however, Paramount Pictures work hard to incorporate Chinese aspects into the film. Also, China Movie Media Group, the largest promoter and distributor of films in China, collaborated with an American studio for the first time, providing advertising, online ticketing, and other support. For comparison sake, Dark of the Moon grossed roughly $165 million in China.

Nice. Not totally surprising, due to the population of China (yes, I know a lot of them live in rural areas and don't get to see the movie, but still) but it's good to see Age of Extinction kicking box office ass. Hopefully when it's all said and done, it will be in the "Billionaires' Club" along with Dark of The Moon. Suck it, movie critics. Suck it hard.

Meh, their loss. I'll have 3 hours of fun while Michael Bay's pile of cash gets higher. Everyone who matters wins.

Okay, here's my review of Transformers: Age of Extinction. Warning: Spoilers! If you haven't seen this movie, scroll down really fast.
The movie started nicely, but I felt that the human characters didn't show any real personality. Everything happened so fast in the beginning for a 165 minute movie. T.J. Miller's character, Lucas, died during that explosion. I admit it was kind of nice for the character with the corny puns and jokes to die, but there was more tiring unnecessary "humor" that nobody cares about. It was hard to register the scenes in the middle of the movie for there was a lot going on. As for the end, Optimus should have shot into space with the Seed a long time ago when he and the Autobots were going to retrieve it.
The special effects were terrible and ILM knows that they did not do well with the CG. The sounds were good and that was the only good thing in this movie. That shot with Drift turning his head looked so FAKE a Syfy movie's CG looks better than that. The Autobots didn't transform as much which is a real disappointment for a fan. I felt that the Dinobots were just there for no reason whatsoever. Not only did they have less screen time than I expected, the Dinobots didn't do as much in 4 minutes of their screen time. Slash wasn't in this movie which is disappointing as much as it's disappointing that Hound doesn't ride a Dinobot. The score however, wasn't so nice. In an interview, Steve Jablonsky said that the score would be basic but fit in the action sequences of the movie. The score wasn't as nice. Michael Bay, Mark Wahlberg, and everyone else claims that this was going to be the best movie of the franchise, and I'm going to give this movie a rating of 2.5/10. Be with me on this, but this movie is worse than Revenge of the Fallen. A highly potential film has been thrown away in the trash and it didn't deserve it. Hopefully, the next movie will be better, but I don't expect it to be.

****** might have spoilers, might not. Depends on if you think character descriptions count as spoilers. Either way, thpoilerth***************************
Welp, I just saw the movie yesterday. By far the best Transformers movie already. There were a lot (A LOT) of problems, but I like the new cast better than the old cast (with the exception of Ironhide, who was really the only memorable one there). Movie Drift is a hell of a lot better than comic book Drift. Seriously, Drift in this movie seems like a kid who found some samurai armor and started swinging around katana swords rather than an actual samurai, and I thought that was perfect for an alien robot trying to be a Samurai. Crosshairs was a whisker shy of being Rattrap. I can easily see him surviving the Autopocalypse on Earth because he'd just shoot the humans who came after him. He was less a solder, and more a guy who learned everything he did by playing call of duty. Hound was perfectly done, though they were clearly going for a more Bulkhead idea with him instead of Hound, still, doesn't mater, he was awesome. He was just missing an Autobot version of The Dude. Bumblebee had less of a roll in this, and that is very good, I like this. I can accept the radio talk easier when there's less of it. And the guy tying them all together is Murdermus Prime! You know, as a kid, I don't remember Optimus being a wise leader in the cartoons. He either shot things or punched things. And when shooting or punching didn't work, he had other people to do the thinking for him. If he couldn't shoot or punch hard enough, he had people to shoot and punch harder than him! So really, movie Optimus isn't so unlike cartoon Optimus. He's just more brutal about it.
You know what? This Autobot cast has a lot more in common with the Beast Wars Maximals than they do the G1 Autobots. I like that.

Age of Extinction Surpasses $400 Million In Less Than A Week!
- Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
As we reported here, thanks to the audiences in China, the box office for Age Of Extinction has been huge, and with the World Cup coming to an end, the film will finally see worldwide release and it's final tally could take it into the same level as Dark Of The Moon and the billionaires club. The next few weeks/month or so will tell us what the box office future holds, but we can remain cautiously optimistic.
According to ComicBookMovie.com, Age Of Extinction has accumulated $412,685,351, worldwide so far!
However, US numbers are still somewhat low and attendance would go a long way to getting the film to at least the same level as Transformers and Revenge Of The Fallen. If the current US pattern holds, Age Of Extinction will be the smallest domestic take of the entire film series. (Currently stands at $128,685,351)
If you haven't seen it yet, or you're on the fence, go check it out with friends, or with your kids, and above all: Have a good time!
We'll keep you updated with the numbers and hopefully we'll get to see a stellar box office take, together.

This is the first TF movie I haven't gone to see in the theater, (first flick I saw multiple times). I'll wait for the BR, (I expect those sales to be MASSIVE).

Impressive. In time, it might even knock X-Men: Days Of Future Past off the "biggest earner of 2014" pedestal (DOFP has currently raked in over $700,000,000).
