Personally, I'd make a few minor tweaks here and there to the deco of the digibash, but on the whole, that digibash is much closer to how I'd prefer the deco to be.

Got the 2010 Takara Unicron way back then for cheap. I didn't like how VIVID that orange was so I sold him at cost to a fallow Seibertronian just some weeks after I got it.

That's why I prefer the default Haslab colors compared to the digibash.
But the colors I like the most are the ones on the Amazon Unicron.
His orange is just right and his gray have that "premium" sheen to it.

I have a somewhat relevant scale-related question. In the animated movie, was Unicron officially the same size as Cybertron?

And I much prefer the orange and gray over the yellow and blue.

In planet mode, Cybertron's moons were big enough to fit into the full space of Unicron's maw just like Lithone did, making those moons probably about as big as Lithone was.-Kanrabat- wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I have a somewhat relevant scale-related question. Because scale in altmode =/= scale in bot mode in the G1-verse.
But what's more, while Unicron was smaller than Cybertron, Cybertron was much tinier than the Earth, as seen in "The Ultimate Doom", meaning that Unicron in the cartoon was probably even smaller than our very own Moon!

So if by some miracle this Unicron gets made, and there was a Cybertron/Primus to follow, would that figure be somewhat in scale with the Armada Unicron mold, if going by the scale from the movie?-Kanrabat- wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I have a somewhat relevant scale-related question. I'd like to see that. A brand new Cybertron mold. Because let's face it, the original Cybertron toy is far from perfect toy-wise and is pretty small compared to Armada Unicron.
It would need an update for sure.
I wonder what bot mode will it have though, in order to be "G1"?

Wouldn't the bot mode be based on the sketches that were made for the original drafts of the movie?

So, it would be COMICS Primus.
If it would kickstart making toys based on the Marvel G1 comics, it would be wicked cool. Enough Sunbow toons. Enough IDW. Give G1 Marvel some love!

I didn't realize there was a Primus in the G1 cartoon...
Speaking of Marvel, it would be amazing if this Unicron came with legends figures of Hook, Line, and Sinker.

Primus didn't even have a body until the Unicron Trilogy. The creation myth only existed in the Marvel Comics. From which "Primus" was a silhouette in a brief montage of an abstract battle and a face on a wall. He never existed as a G1 figure. Even calling him a "character" prior to UT, is charitable.

You did. I know no one talked about the cartoon. At best, there would have been concept art that was scrapped. The Marvel G1 comics is their own universe. Maybe there was something in there? There's also lots of story arks and original bots that would be nice to be made, like Zombie Starscream.
It's unfortunate that Primus was not even in the comics. At least, in a concrete form. That's why the "G1" bot mode of the 2010 Takara Primus is just a made-up OC.

Yes, we all know this but there is a difference between having dialogue and being a character. Primus has vaguely one story, as Sabrblade noted, to his credit. Unicron in contrast had numerous Comic Book stories to flesh him out. Even someone like Scrounge had more characterisation in the Comics, than Primus ever did. He wasn't a non-entity like The Last Autobot, but he wasn't too far off.

T-Minus 7 Days to Haslab Unicron's Deadline - Where He Stands Now
- Motto: "There are no impossibilities in the multiverse, just small minds unable to comprehend the possibilities"
- Weapon: Armor Axe
Here we are, September 29th, the end of the month. In exactly 1 week, on October 6th, Haslab Unicron's deadline will come to a close, and it will be at that point that we find whether or not Unicron will go into production, or proceed on his way to oblivion.
So where does he stand right now?
Well, as of this story, Unicron stands at 5,753 backers. This number puts him currently about 2,247 shy with 7 days left in the campaign, meaning he needs an average of 321 backers a day to make his deadline, or he needs to have a very heavy influx of backers over the course of the New York Comic Con, which is next weekend.
Now, the current number of 5,753 backers appears to include approximately 4,200 backers who have committed from Hasbro Pulse, and approximately 1,500 who were added right before the original August 31st deadline that may have been from other online outlets such as BigBadToyStore, TFsource, and others. So this might not even be the exact number at this point in time, as other online retailer sources might not have submitted their final numbers.
And also at this point, we are still uncertain as to what sources actually count towards the 8,000 goal. Hasbro representatives stated at San Diego Comic Con that sources outside Pulse did not count (answered in response to a question about Takara Tomy's offering and promotion), but since then, Kapow Toys has stated that it will be contributing to the 8,000 goal, so we cannot be certain what sources will count and when exactly those numbers will be added into the Pulse total.
Either way, at this point in time, Unicron still needs about 2,250 backers, with 1 week to go. And we will find out around this time next week if he will make it.
If you still haven't backed this project but would like to, you can go and commit on Hasbro Pulse, any of our sponsors, Kapow Toys if you are in the UK, and EB Games or Zing if you are Australia.
