My parents demanding I finally get my stuff out of their spare room has prompted me to finally get round to photographing all my alternator customs.......Here are my Dinobots

GRIMLOCK
Standard issue grimlock with the Reprolabels upgrade set applied. torso and wrists painted gold. I like the doors pointing up rather than out as I think it adds bulk to him....he is supposed to be the king after all!!




SLAG
started out as a blue Tracks....I opted for the 'vette because i think the chest plate and missiles look pretty much like the originals jaw/chest plate and horns. added the flame stickers on the hood as a nod to his 'flamethrower' function. The head is from BTA Alert.




SLUDGE
Originally a Swindle, I added some styrene to make a 'canopy'. Head is from Alt Skids. I gave him a snorkel to allow him to drive through swamps unhindered. Couldn'd see someone as lumbering as Sludge using a sword so gave him a massive Xevoz club instead.




SNARL
Silverstreak given a 'desert rally' makeover with paint apps, decals and stickers. I have mistransformed the arms to distinguish him from my other alt Imprezas.




SWOOP
started out as a blue Prowl. Missiles and pegs donated from the Battle Ravage that ended up as my Alt Shrapnel. The legs are reversed so that the spoiler represents the originals knee/claws. The crest was removed from the head and a new one created from various bits I had lying around. I absolutely dispise the acura weapon so I've given him two knives instead.Stickers from Reprolabels.




And finally.....Dinobot SNORT.
This is an alt upgrade for one of my fan character dinobots. He is the brother of Snarl and believes that Grimlock should lead the Autobots even more than Grimlock does!!
Is an 'Argent Meister' with some sticker apps. The head is from a swindle with a nose created with a tiny sliver of styrene. further styrene added to the hood's 'hinge' allows it to clip on to the forearm as a shield.

Awsome! I've always had difficulty with the idea of dinobots being cars but this is great! And you've put alot of thought into the who and why of these characters. Sand rally car as the desert warrior, flame detail on slag, boss labels on Grimlock.

Wish I'd get in gear to finish my own version.

I like what you've done with Grimlock, Sludge and Swoop! Where did grimlock's sword come from? It's seriously cool!

Also, I like the idea of the shield on the last one. Can we have a pic of the underside so we can see how it works?

The sword comes with the custom alternator missile launcher set that was knocking about a while ago...it included one missile launcher, three light sabres (red, blue and purple) and the sword i gave Grimlock. it is supposed to be a representation of the three minicons that combine into a sword, I forget their names(beyond G1 I'm pretty useless!!)

AS for the sheild/hood, unfortunately it is now in a box in a loft in a house in a town in which I no longer live, so further photographing is going to be a problem. but it is really simple to do...it's really just a tab of styrene glued inside th hinge that would allow the head to pop out were it in place as hasbro intended...hope that helps.

You did some really great work on the Dinobots. I love how they all have a different colour scheme that matches the character. Also, the crest for Swoop is brilliant.

Er... not really! Can you draw a pic?!

I didn't know about the alternator upgrade set - but I got back into collecting just as that range was ending.
