The art tends to be great. It's amazed me how you can have such a range of expressions on a robots face when he has a visor AND a mouthplate. And Rung is great. Yay! Eyebrows!

AHM, The Costa Run or both?

It's sad that the adventures of the lost light are coming to an end, but I hope there's scope for a similar setup in the new continuity, even if it's told in tales four - six issues long.
I hope that whatever it is they do, they don't kill off characters willy nilly like they've been doing. As long as a character has a good and emotional well thought out death then that's fine.
It's when they do stupid stuff like cut the one guy in half who can go invisible, or knock a combiner out of combined mode when the guy can form a force field and let the members all get gunned down by their so-called allies from behind.
As long as that **** doesn't happen anymore.
I will agree with this point. the whole LL issue 12 wasn't very good to me, and it's up there as one of my least favorite issues of Transformers comics ever.

So would you say heart of darkness is the worst of idw then? In my opinion it's ahm hands down, there was some silly decisions there that took a lot to fix. Though that's why I was more interested in the op comic when they did all Hail Optimus as it was clearly a deliberate naming choice to invoke that series...which would have been more interesting if the hasbroverse existed then.
No it's not. Anything Roberts wrote after issue 40 of MTMTE.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:It's hard to decide on The Worst in IDW

Yes I did. And that's where my nerdrage towards LL and Roberts comes from. I enjoyed MTMTE up to that point very much. Then the arc leading up to Dying of the Light was kinda weak, but I forgave it because I was looking forward to the title going out with a bang, in the form of Megatron taking on the DJD. And then...we got what we got. So disappointed. It reminded me of the ending of Kill Bill vol. 2, where we waited through 2 movies for the Bride and Bill to have an epic showdown, and all we got was a dumbass speech and a Finger Poke of Doom, and that's it. I understood why it happened that way, but it could have been so much more spectacular. Same with MTMTE. I understood why Megatron did what he did (and I even liked that Trailbreaker got a small measure of revenge, even after death), but it was such a waste, considering the build up. And then they followed it up with Titans Return, which was mediocre at best, and then LL, which is what it is. So unless Roberts finds a way to finish the entire continuity in grand fashion, the last half of his work on the MTMTE story will be a worthless waste.ZeroWolf wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:No it's not. Strongly disagree. I'd sat it was the Furman stuff, and HAM, but even those I enjoyed.

Everything from Megatron Origin til Maximum Dinobots (or the Revelation Spotlights? I forget which was last)was outstanding. Last Stand of the Wreckers was also fantastic. The quality in IDWverse dipped significantly After Furman.
AHM was Sunbow: The Comic! Which was both very dated and completely out of place in IDWverse.
The Costa Run: A trainwreck
Heart of Darkness: "WTF!?!" x 1000
Infestation: pure Editorial Mandate Tie-in fodder
CHAOS: Megatron Fanfic
DoOP: Optimus Fanfic
RiD and MTMTE/LL: I haven't read enough of to judge them above 'average' but, we've had a lot worse than a writer's dip in quality prior to these series from IDW. Context and perspective are key, after all.
