Drift is really cool. Whirl has some fantastic moments.

Fort Max going nuts was well nuts.

Poor Flywheels, lol

Also Swerve has a bar, brilliant.

Welcome to the boards! :)

Really glad to hear you're enjoying MTMTE. I utterly enjoyed it too!

Can anyone pinpoint exactly where the TF series fell apart?

I got hooked on the 2nd half of Dark Cybertron and tried to read up on past stuff (only had time to check out LSoTW), and MTMTE was great for me. But I haven't been able to get into LL for whatever reason. I read here that LL sales are still going strong, so what was it?

And forgive me if I don't go back and re-read stuff, so the TL;DR version works for me ;)^

It's a different place for most people, but for me it was after issue 40 of MTMTE. I had hoped that the final arc, Dying of the Light, would redeem the series, but that story ended up being toilet paper. And Titans Return was just flat.

I really hope someone with more talent takes over from Roberts after LL is over.

D-Maximal_Primal wrote:At least in terms of online sales, I will lay this on the table:

Following Roberts on Twitter the past several years, at least in the UK, MTMTE/LL has actually really held its own online, usually coming in top 10 for the week it's published, usually alongside or beating things like Batman and other superheroes.

So online sales are huge with comics. I know more people who buy comics and books on a kindle than buy a physical copy, and when they do it's for a cover as a collectible item, not to read. I personally collect the TPBs for ease of buying and storage on my shelves.

Also, if we really are going to keep saying the current stuff is garbage, can we at least state the argument and then provide some new information as we go please? I appreciate the people who explain why they say stuff is good or bad, what they think comics should be and shouldn't be, in different ways responding to other's opinions. Repeating that something is garbage or that 1 point is your huge point and saying it over and over will do nothing for this conversation except annoy people so they stop reading it. Following the Facebook page, that is why our comics threads are much quieter now: people advertise to avoid them because of the shortness and the dismissiveness that make them not fun to visit. Just a request, please.

I'll tell you exactly why people stop following these threads and it's because if you don't fall into line as a good little agreeing monkey that everything that is released isn't loved then no one wants to hear from you.

The message boards of numerous sites come off as a bunch of yes men and if you're not one of them, you're told your trolling and get insulted over it.

Partholon disagreed and he's not getting insulted over it. A lot of it comes down to attitude. If you'd said that in your opinion you didn't like it, then that would be fine. People like myself will have asked why it didn't work for you and maybe had a discussion about it. Giving blunt answers and saying that everyone who likes it is "rubbish" is only going to get you hostility in return.

Look at Rodimus primes post, he doesn't like the way MTMTE/lost light ended up and thinks Roberts is a poor/unfitting writer for the series. I disagree with this but I don't attack him over it, neither does he attack others over sticking with the series. If you keep going on expecting a fight then it's no wonder you end up with so many of them.

Treat others how you yourself want to be treated.

That's exactly what I do, if you look back you'll see that I was openly insulted and attacked over my comments first. So I've only responded in kind. It's funny how people fail to see that.

Yes I called it garbage in my first post about it, it was still no reason for ANYONE to insult me over it, which was exactly what happened.

No one here is telling you to be a yes man, we don't do that. There is respectful disagreement and then there is disrespectful and trolling disagreement, and over the past week you have continually been the latter. Others are in here disagreeing and telling their sides, and there have been no issues, the only issues being with you and your attitude.

so no, we are not telling you to be a yes man here, you can say your piece, but we ask that you do it respectively.

And now, as a staff member, I am going to ask you, and some of those who responded to you, to be more respectful and less trolling with the insulting of people and your opinions. We want your opinion, but we don't want it like how it's been coming across. Please clean up, so I don't have to bring Burn in here

Thank you.

Okay moving on...following on from what was put in the Unicron thread, looks like this part of tf history is coming to an end. It's sad that the adventures of the lost light are coming to an end, but I hope there's scope for a similar setup in the new continuity, even if it's told in tales four - six issues long.

I hope that whatever it is they do, they don't kill off characters willy nilly like they've been doing. As long as a character has a good and emotional well thought out death then that's fine.

It's when they do stupid stuff like cut the one guy in half who can go invisible, or knock a combiner out of combined mode when the guy can form a force field and let the members all get gunned down by their so-called allies from behind.

As long as that **** doesn't happen anymore.

I will agree with this point. the whole LL issue 12 wasn't very good to me, and it's up there as one of my least favorite issues of Transformers comics ever.

I'm still doubtful that events that transpired in that issue were as shown. It went as getaway imagined it would. Wouldn't surprise me that starsaber only beat defensor because getaway believed he could. We'll find out in due time, and if they are dead as shown then it is an out of place moment that reads as "um how do I sort this out..." but if things aren't as they seem then the approach will be justified. There could be other reasons as to why defensor went down so easy, like if starsaber had received some uber power up so he was stronger than a combiner, but again this will hopefully be explained.

Which is why I'm also with ZeroWolf in thinking this didn't really happen, or at least not quite as told. It would fit with Robert's style to be some sort of curve.

And yeah, I’m really enjoying this. Just finished the third TPB.

Some random thoughts

Ultra Magnus- “you let whirl inside my body?” and then the panel of Ultra Magnus giving a big grin, lol

The bit with cyclonus telling rewind the creation story was neat.

The entire Shadowplay story was excellent, amazing, hilarious. Some background for chromedome, skids, whirl, and drift.

Tailgate-“pax is so cool”
Swerve-“more of this, please. more jumping off roofs. rooves, roofs. more jumping off things.”

Tailgate takes notes, and doesn’t know that orion pax is optimus prime, lol
