Most certainly NOT thrilled that this is just a Tracks repaint with a different head sculpt. Wheeljack was the first Autobot I owned way back in the 80's so I have something of a bit of strong attachment to this character. The Downshift version of him is a better tribute to his original style than this in my opinion. I won't dismiss getting him entirely just yet but I've already had Tracks in hand once this last week and left him on the shelf, in part because of his body style. Hasbro better be able to impress the **** out of me with this one once I have it under my nose at the store.

I can't wait for Wheeljack. I'm a little dissapointed he doesn't have a gun either but he has his shoulder missle which makes me very happy.

Does anyone else think this mold could make a good Runabout and Runamuck?

Looks good, but still leaning towards United version due to the metallic paint and the brighter white.

I think Transformers United have had better paint jobs across the board so far except for this guy. Hasbro's version looks much better, I don't know why Takara Tomy have used that stupid dark green metallic paint which ruins the figure.
I'll be paying extra to get the Hasbro Wheeljack and canceling my pre-order for the United one. :BOT:

Hey, sorry - I didn't actually see your comment before I posted mine. It wasn't meant to be an aggressive or argumentative response to your opinion or anything, just coincidence that we were both talking about the metallic paint!

I have preferred all of the United versions up until now - I live in Japan so it suits me fine. I think the metallic paint has looked good on probably all of the other United figures that they've used it on (especially Megatron, thought not sure if they needed to bother on Scourge) but I just like the traditional plain green that Hasbro have used more than the metallic green that TT have used this time.

If I seemed a little p***ed off it's because my preference is going to cost me an extra $10-15!!

I decided to cancel my pre-orders for Wheeljack and Scourge and get the Hasbro versions instead (plus I already have Generations Cliffjumper).

TT won all the rest;

Rumble & Frenzy
Blurr
Perceptor
Kup
Wreck-Gar
Jazz
Tracks
Grapple
Straxus
Lugnut
Soundwave
Megatron

I'm preferring the Takara-Tomy version still, even though I'd tend to agree with many here about the green paint. The factor is simply the white plastic; I much prefer this over the dull hue that Hasbro chose.

EDIT: Actually, going by what few pictures are available, it's hard to tell if the United version's plastic actually is a shinier white, or the same colour as Hasbro's version. Hopefully we'll see some good comparison pics soon.

You do realise his first incarnation was basically an extended beer gut with short legs and long gorillia arms right?

Just being fat is quite the improvement ;)

Oh, I didn't remember. Now that I think of it, your right. ;)

Have mine on pre-order from BBTS, and my Pile-Of-Loot is on.

As for when it will be in stores?
Seriously?
