Iranian Desert - Sarvak Layer of the Oil Field
Once Ramjet and Nightraven had assumed their jet modes and attached their respective grappling hooks to the train car, Skywarp transferred full power to his thrusters as the three seekers lifted the container of energon off the desert floor and into the skies above. They flew low to avoid radar detection, heading for the rendezvous point where Dirge would hopefully be waiting for them with the needed netting.
Along the way, Nightraven tried to ease the teleporter’s concerns regarding her sister, promising that she’d handle the situation accordingly. She also offered him more encouragement, expressing her happiness with how hard he has worked to be taken more seriously. Her words made him feel a bit better about everything even though he was still concerned with how others now perceived him. Instead of his comrades viewing him as a mindless grunt, it seemed as though he was now looked upon as being softer, more political and less of an actual warrior than before. ‘Warp never saw himself as a politician or even a leader. He never had any interest in those sorts of things. But, for the sake of his relationship with Nightraven, he wanted to be more than just a mere brute while still preserving his image as one of the seeker elite. After all, he didn’t want his feelings for Nighty to cloud his fighting instinct or otherwise change him in too many ways. It was a delicate balance to try and maintain, especially for a mech like the Decepticon prankster.
>>”I’ll do my best, and you’re probably right, Nightraven. I’m sure Hellion will feel better once the Autobots arrive and the real fighting begins. Although, I also don’t want to put a wedge between you two. You’re sisters and I don’t want to get in the way of that.”<<
Skywarp’s voice trailed off over the comm as he thought about what he was saying. He wanted more than anything to have a relationship with Nightraven and he was willing to do what it took to achieve that goal. However, he also had to consider how such a pairing would ultimately affect Hellion as the berserker would likely not accept Nighty and ‘Warp being together in any way, shape or form. It could very well come down to Nightraven having to choose between them, but that was a subject better broached at another time.
>>”We’re here.”<< Skywarp’s voice came over the comm line again, as Dirge could be seen down below standing near a large sand dune with a camouflage net by his side. The teleporter and his two aerial companions lowered the train car down until it landed softly at the base of the dune. The three seekers then disengaged their grappling hooks as ‘Warp transformed and landed atop the mound of sand. Using his arm-mounted lasers, he blasted away at the dune, causing some of the sand to slide down and partially bury the box car. Once that was done, the prankster leapt down to the desert floor and took hold of the netting Dirge had procured. With the help of the other seekers, 'Warp covered the exposed top portion of the container, securing the large net on all sides.
Skywarp then took a step back and examined the now concealed box car, testing some of the ropes as he walked around it. Once he was satisfied that all of the lines were firmly in place, he turned towards Nightraven, Ramjet and Dirge. “Well, I think that should be enough to keep the energon safely hidden. We’ll come back for it once the mission is finished. Now, let’s all get to the main hub with the others. I have a gut feeling they’re going to be needing back-up real soon.”
With a quick nod directed more so at Nighty than the other two, Skywarp transformed back into his F-22 mode and rocketed into the sky again, aiming his nosecone straight towards the center of the oil field.
