The first film was long, but moved very slowly to the point I thought it got boring before the second half when the Autobots show up in force. RotF was better about this, getting the boring part out of the way at the 1/4 point then keeping a steady pace up to the finale.
With DotM being shorter it means that they'll have to get to the action quicker, and keep ramping it up until the very end. I doubt it's length will harm the film any. Hell, it'll probably benefit from it in the long run.
Also, I'm currently wagering with a friend that the Twins will be in there. Bay's just trying to shut the Paramount executives up until June 29th.

Animated, which in my humble opinion, was far superior to the currently airing Transformers Prime, got tragically buried under the onslaught of the movieverse, then finished off by The Hub.
With the movies taking up less attention there could only be better prospects for a TV series to have a good run with some potentially interesting character and story driven arcs, without a torrent of movie toys coming out and drowning the TV series completely.

In a way though, I'm still kind of scared. This is supposed to be the last one directed by Bay. I'm gonna miss this series. Then what if the next director just totally ruins Transformers? Not that "ruined forever" crap, but what if they get EVERYTHING wrong?

Well, I don't want to sound like a jerk but that's exactly what the "RuinedFOREVER" crap is. If the next movie is a reboot (which is likely knowing Transformers as a series) then you just gotta adapt and look forward to new stories and characters, along with a new style.

SKYWARPED_128 wrote:Yeah, the short running time of DOTM is a little worrying. I sat through the whole two-plus hours of ROTF without ever noticing how long it was, because the action rarely let up. I did skip through the college stuff after the first viewing, though.
I never understood why people complained that ROTF was too long.

Because they're unevolved and have an attention span of a fudge ball.

Heheh, I guess some of the professional reviewers who covered ROTF would fall into that category.

Don't worry! If you found ROTF a good movie I doubt you'd find this bad no matter what they do!
SlyTF1 wrote:If there are no explosions, I will be pissed. And so what if I found ROTF a "good" movie? Are you saying that it lowers the status of my existence? Are you saying that anyone who liked ROTF would be happy with anything having to do with a live action Transformers movie? Because that's what it sounds like.
Starscream GaGa wrote:I'm just saying that if you liked ROTF you couldn't be all that hard to impress.

awww that's so sweet, you're one of those people who like to imply that those who liked ROTF have diminished intelligence.
