I have a Soundwave and Soundblaster that both look like they're about ready for the Cybertronian Retirement Castle. Was wondering if there is any way to fix this issue, or if I should just start working on some custom walkers.

Krazy Glue :-)

Then buy a nice new tight reissue one and call it a day.
Watching since episode 1 aired in 84
Reading since #4 released in 84
GM for life.
If it's not G1 it's not canon

Judging by the fact Soundblaster is mentioned, I'm going to assume he's already using a reissue. In which case, I'm not all that surprised - the Takara reissues I've all bought feel like they aren't built to be played with, more left in the box for display. My Stepper, Prowl, Ehobby Magnus and Convoy are all showing signs of wear far in excess of the 2\3 times I've actually transformed them.

I'm afraid I don't know how to fix this curse with Soundwave - I wish I did. Which part of the leg has gone wrong - the part that attaches to the body or the knees?

Out of curiosity, which production run of Soundwave do you have? G1, TF:Collection, 25th Aniv ect? I've heard from collectors here that some series display worse quality control than others (for exaple, Commemoritive Series G1 Prime Vs 25th Reissue Prime.

Both are G1 originals. I don't let those filthy filth reissues taint my collection.

But yeah, that sucks there is no cure.

While we're talking about /Soundwave/Soundblaster reissues, enjoy them while you can. I've compared my Soundblaster to one of the Soundblasters from the book series and the amount of mold degradation is really pronounced. Soundblaster has a lot of subtle detailing, and a lot of it is to the point of being almost unrecognizable. Before long they won't be able to produce figures using that mold.

A MIB Soundlaster went for $160 today on ebay. I wasn't really trying to win it, but I put a bid in for $150 anyway. Thought it might be nice to have a spare. Once they finally retire the mold for these guys the price of Soundblasters are going to go through the roof again.

If you see one, buy it!

I restored two Soundwaves (1 to keep, 1 to sell) a couple years ago, but damned if I can remember what I did.

I think it was mostly in the knees; probably had to build up a couple nubs with superglue.

Bingo, my original G1 SW was always a bit loose, and that was the way I resolved the matter. Once I picked up a bookbox SW I automatically started posing it with one leg rotated 45 degrees.

Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.
