That is the single badest figure i have seen yet from the Botcon exclusives category, assuming its legit.. Damn, thats pretty sweet, and he looks alot like the G-1 counterpart that appeared in a few episodes of the Rodimus Prime years..

Nice, a must have.. the go-t is well done..

Transtopia repaint of Vector prime/Alpha trion is WAYY better than this one. The paint use on that look cool. They have a metallic finish. I do like the head sculpt in this one,but I hate the colors. He looks like he should of came in a easter basket. Next to all the pastel eggs!

I'd prefer he was more like Astrotrain, a club exclusive than a 'con exclusive. Of course if he was a movie toy or a store exclusive it would be even better!

The head sculpt is nice, but I agree that darker shades of the colors should have been used. The paint for the Cyber Key is "ick". It could have looked much better than that. Also, how do they explain Alpha Trion having a Minicon sidekick? :???:

Wow! I must say that this figure looks awesome. There has never been an toy representation of Alpha Trion. To use the Vector Prime mold with Alpha Trion's head was sheer geniuse in my book. The colors are pretty spot on to the cartoon as well.

If anyone is hoping to get this figure if they order the non-attendee package then they're going to be disappointed. Assuming this is a convention exlcusive figure he will most likely only be available at the convention. They've already announced the 5 figures and Alpha was not one of them. Too bad.

That figure is fantastic! Me want! Between the new Seekers, the BB repaint, and this I need to get another job just to pay for em all...

How is that ebay sellers from Singapore and Hong Kong always get these test shots and figures before they are released? Surely Takara must know that they employ ninja thieves that steal anything new and sell it on the ebay market. Either that or ninja pirates that are constantly raiding the Transformer factories undetected for prototypes and fully packaged, unreleased characters.

Flux Convoy wrote:As for this guy, wow. So glad I'm going again this year. He looks pretty legit to me. The Cyber key is what clinches it for me. Unless this guy made it himself, that key has never been molded in yellow. Or other colors possible to dye it to that color. On another note, this seller seems to get test shots and other things we've yet to see on a regular basis as well. So what does this say for the extras? I would assume he'd be the high price point item like last years Megatron. Leaving Huffer as the freebie and either Springer or Alita-1 as the other figure available for purchase. That would leave the one not offered as an open slot for a later club exclusive akin to the recent Airazor. Man, I'm so exited I can't stop typing. HOLD ME!! Heh.
:BOT:

But weren't there 4 figures available for purchase at Botcon 2006? (Megatron, Waspinator, Buzzsaw and Laserbeak) So Huffer could be the freebie, with Springer, Alpha Trion, Elita-1 and some other figure (looking at the comic, probably Weirdwolf) as exclusive con figures.

Which most of us will still not be able to get. :-( Mind you, I haven't had any real problem with the Club - heck, I never have any problems getting hold of the non-attending boxed set - but the choice of characters they're using as 'side' exclusives is just becoming aggravating now.

I was hoping to see its own mold for this figure, but Vector Prime works just as good too, I suppose. Didn't see a figure of him coming. Now all we need is Elita 1 :D

As this is (possibly) a test shot, they may tweak the color mix darker on the purple bits. But I like the lavender and white, it's a nice change from the eye-burning lifejacket orange of Wheelie or the Exorcist pea soup green of Longarm.

What I wish they'd tweak are the raised burgundy parts. Alpha Trion loses the elegant contrast that Vector Prime had in his gold detailing with matte burgundy against the lavender base.

And while I'm dictating the World According to Saint, how about some clear plastic weaponry/wings that better match either the accents or the opaque base plastics? Grape Hi-C purple doesn't look good next to lavender.
