Wow, this is really hard to believe... I don't get the ruining childhood bit, but they must be jealous maybe because Michael Bay must have been some "loner" and now they are angry because he has just made a movie.

I hadn't read any death threats, so yeah, reading this is scary. I mean, this guy is busting his ass trying to make something cool (give him credit for trying, even if the result doesn't satisfy you), and people are being immature jackasses about it. Would they threaten my life If I wrote something like "G1 is teh sux and u 2 if u like it" in my sig?

Er, on second thought, they probably would. I don't think that, btw. Please don't hurt me. :-s

Bay's an idiot, and so are the death threat guys. Either way it doesn't change the fact that the movie looks overblown and dumb. I can't wait for this thing to be out, tank, and go away. Then all the Transfans can move on with their lives to better and brighter things.

I take it you haven't seen the Transformers Animated Optimus Prime image yet. Unfortunately for you, the movie is the best you're getting.

We need a Transfandom, phsycologist and therapist, who can reason reality vs fantasy to some of the fans, they should be on staff on the message boards and at Botcons, to help people who have....ahem...... severe issues.....

I have nothing to apologize for since I supported the movie from the beginning. I understood immediately what he was trying to do and I loved the designs since I first saw them.

I'd love to know if any of those "death threat" guys are on this board. Oh boy, would I love to know. *sharpens knives*

Most of the time they were made by people who had just joined up and had less than a dozen post counts to their name.

But i'm sure if you looked around enough you'd find a "Michael Bay has raped my childhood!" comment, those still seem pretty popular.

I may hate what he has done to Transformers and the way he's blasted fans who have tried to voice their opinions about the way the icons of our childhood appear - ie: Transformers 101 but to threaten his life, that's letting him know he's finally got under our skin.

But since seeing the new animated Transformers design, I hate to say this but his guys look 100x's better.

Just about EVERY person who's EVER made a movie gets death threats, simply based on the law of averages versus wackos in the population.

THIS STORY IS NOTHING MORE THAN MICHAEL BAY ATTEMPTING TO GET SYMPATHY.

This "shocking story" is just boob bait for morons, so they'll go, "Woah, death threats? I might not be too happy with Bay, but he doesn't desrve to DIE!"

...followed by going out and watching it...

This really needs to be put in context. If someone sent him a letter that sounded real, real serious then fine. But, how many times in your life have you told someone you're "gonna kill them"? Did you really? I threaten my lawnmower with death when it won't start for god's sake.

i'm sure bay can afford to hire some roughneck thugs to protect him from any transfan. there's always people on an opposite end of a spectrum that take things to extremes for what they believe. we call them suicide bombers :grin:

however, there's no need for it. and i am favorable against an appology thread for mr. bay. in fact, after we all shell out money to see this flick.. he might end up owing us an appology. i doubt that though. the action looks unreasonably fantastic, and the toy sales alone could make up for ticket sales any day.
