I brought tickets for Radiohead yesterday and grabbed the best seats available. I was able to get on Ticketmaster without the page locking up at like 12:01 or so... but... How do you get pit tickets? Its like not even an option anymore. It was the same way for NIN's last year, couldn't buy them on ticketmaster.


Anyone care to shed some light on this subject?

Not that you need "PIT" tickets for a band like Radiohead but still... i'd like to be close.

I've found that those normally go to the people willing to run out to the actual ticketmaster stands nearest to them. At least that was how it was when I went and saw NIN in 2005. I went up to the Gund Arena for mine and ended up getting first row in the stands above the ground. The others had sold out seconds before I got up to the cashier.

Oh Geeze... you had seats to a NIN concert. Didn't that suck? I've loved NIN forever and it sucked that the first time I saw them... I had a seat. Not what I had in mind.

Eh I'm not one for getting the **** beat out of me in the pit anyways. Never have been, never will be. I just like to sit back, sing along and enjoy the music without getting my nose broken.

True... i'm growing out of that stage as well. Pits can sometimes be fun and dangerous.

I had fun when I saw deftones and kissed this chick during Change.
Its really gay if you make out with a chick during a show normally but since I was doing it, it was cool

Bad... as when I almost died during the SLipKnot concert because those guys are nuts!!!! No idea how I survived that night.

That is the single most disgusting thing I have ever heard!!! Half the fun is knocking the **** outta people in the pit! Its cleansing!

I dont know about the states but in Ireland to get into the pit u gotta que outside of the venue all day before the gig and the first couple of hundred people get pit passes.

Or u bribe a 16 year old with booze/drugs/sex to go into the pit and borrow some of their mates passes and come back out and give tyhem to u + mates. Thats how I have always done it. I am always in the pit and I have never ever qued for it.

I've only ever been to one concert that had seats. That concert was outside and they were folding chairs so they ended up in giant piles around the parking lot anyway. I guess I've only ever been to punk and ska concerts, so this concept is foreign to me.

A Lot of venues, don't have PITs anymore. However, they may go the first in line.

I have tix to see DEVILDRIVER the day before my birthday. It's a small venue with only 200 cap. The whole place is gonna be a pit! \m/ \m/

I was at the Gojira/Machine Head/lamb of god last March. I think I broke my wrist during MH, but I survived log. It was pretty tame. Nothing like Pantera(the only pit that I was afraid of).

I never went to the doctor, but every once and a while, my wrist f#cking hurts like a Son of a B!itch.

Picture The Mighty Might Bosstones on tour right after that album of thiers hit it big (mid '90's).

I saw them with the Pie Tasters and H2O. The venue was in G.Ville FL, about 1k cap. The place was breaking the fire code and their was about 100 or so more ppl outside.

Now substitue the Zoot suits for Skulls and crossbones. Checkered shoes for Steel Toe Boots. Fedoras and Bowlers for Leather belts with a lot of chains and spikes, and you almost have a metal show.

Same teen aingst, but instead of Skankin', everybody is body slaming and Moshing.

Is you chunky style?

Yeah. But that isn't the reason. I'm just not an aggravated or aggressive person by nature. Hell I so rarely get stressed out that I tend to laugh at others who constantly are. So being in the pit really merits no fun for me. Or really anything brutal like that. Boxing for example.

I'd rather just lean back and chill out in whatever situation you can think of. It's like I'm a stoner without the side effects.

I am quite similar, I am chilled and calm,I am a teacher for cryin out loud! ...A really really nice teacher. I dont do stress or aggression, I enjoy reading to little kids and finger painting.

BUT I still kick ass in a mosh pit!!!! Plus it is healthy to exercise stress and aggression in a free manner, let it all hang out!!!

The only time I've seen Slipknot's pit outdone was Lamb of God.

So yeah, its more brutal then Slipknot's pit.

The only time Slipknot counters the wall of death is the Spit it Out pit

What you would want would be called "Floor" standing room only. That would be the pit. I had floor tickets when I went to Family Values and it was in the pit, as ppl were standing and pretty much could go all crazy if they wanted, and they did. Also, the best time to get those tickets are on pre-sale days.

Yep. Floor are basically a free for all to get as close as you can get to the stage or jump in the pit! Slayer, Manson concert was a blast!
