Well, it looks like we're here before the Star Wars thread...

yey!

At any rate, I just got Ms. Marvel back and now have a small collection of Giant Man parts, not all, but a few.

So it looks like I'm going to need any extra BAF parts for Mr. Pym that you might have.

Also, I've begun a X-Men movie display which started with HML Beast and is kind of a result of Jean and Juggy (X3 versions) being in HML wave two.

Well he's not a Marvel Legend but I picked up the Iron Spider Spider-man and I love it! Easily one of my favorite figures. I've never had a toybiz figure with this tight of joints. It's oddly refreshing I must say.

Really? Because I found not a whole lot except disappointment from Iron Spiderman.

-His paint flakes
-no hip joint
-those weird hands where there is a lot of material to the side of the fingers
-he can't sit on his extra legs
-NO Wrist movement? wtf.

Sorry, didn't mean to rain on your parade. The figure looks great, that much is true. They really cut design corners with him though.

The hands I noticed right off the bat and they do look wierd. And the wrist I also noticed. But I've had no problem with paint flaking on him...And what do you mean by hip joint? He has ball joints there. Or do you mean rotating at the torso?

Ah yeah that does sorta suck. Although it does keep his Spider symbol from looking screwy.

I might be so happy with it because the only other Spider-Man I have to compare him with is the bad articulated movie one in the two pack with the Green Goblin

I don't purchase Marvel Legends even remotely, but seeing the SMC Iron Spider-Man for the first time tempted me. Didn't get it because I noticed too much flaking on the single one I saw, though.

Aside from the stuff mentioned by CP, anything else of note? What's good about him, if anything, that might make him worthwhile to buy?

1. He's a damn fine representation of the character.
2. Most of the parts (arms and legs) are from one of the best versions of Spiderman (found in the Fearsome Foes set).
3. Aside from not bein able to support himself with the extra legs, they are never the less well done.
4. The vac-metal paint looks great. They pulled it off well. The issue is that if by chance a nick or chip gets knocked off him, the rest of the paint is easily removed as well.

I'd say grab one if you can find it. Just be warned.

Once you have spiderman, you'll want DocOck and Venom (both of which actually only have good incarnations in the Marvel Legends line, Series 8 for Doc, Sinister 6 box set for Venom). Legends are like that, addictive. It's nice to have a figure or two, but they really shine when placed into their respective groups. and that's the rub.

I keep seeing the Hasbro ones just hanging on the pegs.. I wanted White Queen so badly but after I saw her I just could not plunk down the cash..
The skintones look too pale and the overall look of the figs (to me) is cheap.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

She's not as bad as she seems.

There's not much I can say about her.

Re: Emma Frost... her face is too thin, her lips are too big and fish-like, and she has a diaper-waist. I just can't stand looking at her! I'm not surprised that the Hulk and Hercules figures from that series sell faster than her. I'm not shitting you guys either... I work at a Walmart and walk by those figures every day. Maybe the plastic is better quality than what Toy Biz used in their manufacturing runs. But dear God, Hasbro needs to work on aesthetics.

And every day I walk past them, I keep thinking about getting that X3 Beast. But the raised price and lack of comic book still burns me. I won't get any of the HMLs unless it is something really special. X3 Phoenix, Colossus, and Juggernaut look pretty cool. Which is why I keep thinking about getting the X3 Beast...

Important side note to what you said Spike and I'm not bolding this as an affront to you. It's just for emphasis and to spread the general knowlege:

HML series 1 and 2 were designed ENTIRELY by ToyBiz.

Please direct any and all hate concerning these releases to ToyBiz. The truth is that we don't know how actual Hasbro ML's will look. :-(

I'm trying to decide if that's entirely true. Phoenix's original prototype looked gorgeous. Next we see Hasbro buy out Toybiz. Then soon after we see a new picture of her and she's completely different and horrible looking.

Did you ever see some of the other prototypes ToyBiz has displayed compared with what we got?

ML 10, the beloved Sentinel Series looked 100x (no joke) better in the prototype stage. Sinister was shiney and had full articulation, Mystique wasn't garbage, Omega Red had full articulation and better paint design, Cyclops did not have black ink dumped over him, and Angels wings were really, really nice.

ML 11, Hulkbuster was to be a deep, shiney, and highly reflective red. Never happened.

ML 11, Wolverine had a damn good head sculpt in proto stage. Never saw the light of a store.

ML 11, Scarlett Witch? Do I have to say anymore on her?

ML 13, Onslaught?

ML 13, Lady Deathstrike's head?

It goes on and on, seriously. I'm not hating on Toy Biz either. I'm just saying that there's nothing so far that Hasbro has had their hands on except for increased distribution. (It was a ToyBiz decision to change the packaging and remove the comic btw)

Phoenix, in HML 2 was awesome to begin with, then she got to be absolutely F'd the hell up. Last I saw, she had been corrected and will likely look pretty darn good. At any rate, I'm buying up movie figures in hopes of getting one of her later on.

Well I picked up Banshee and movie beast today and I gotta say their quality is lacking to say the least. If Hasbro takes on to these first two waves and they think that is the quality that will get them the sales like previous waves then they are dead wrong.Granted that toybiz made the first two waves for hasbro...hopefully the don't take to that kind of poor quality in the future.

Maybe I am just being harsh but... God They Suck!

Hopefully they get better and the BAF's become more likeable characters. They are really pushing it with annihilus.

Ah, ok. I had heard many times that Hasbro took over at this point, and that whatever they released was what Hasbro designed. Though I had also heard that Toy Biz designed the X3 Phoenix, and that was why the first proto we saw looked awesome compared to the second proto (the Fox Muldar in drag).

But, after seeing those new super-articulated GI Joes that Hasbro is making... I have some hope that they can do ML figures right. But they will have to be outstanding for me to buy them... like I said earlier about the price and comic. :?

Jesse Falcon, the guy who is pretty much the ML guru at ToyBiz/Hasbro has flat out stated that Series 2 will be superior in every way to series 1.
