Zuko wrote:Well he's not a Marvel Legend but I picked up the Iron Spider Spider-man and I love it! Easily one of my favorite figures. I've never had a toybiz figure with this tight of joints. It's oddly refreshing I must say.

The torso doesn't turn.
Chosen wrote:I don't purchase Marvel Legends even remotely, but seeing the SMC Iron Spider-Man for the first time tempted me. Didn't get it because I noticed too much flaking on the single one I saw, though.
Aside from the stuff mentioned by CP, anything else of note? What's good about him, if anything, that might make him worthwhile to buy?

I'll be back in a day or two, maybe even tonight.

The skintones look too pale and the overall look of the figs (to me) is cheap.

She's not as bad as she seems.
There's not much I can say about her.

Um, er...unless it is the phasing version, hold off on that.
I went about and sacked most of what I needed on a recent ebay rampage...
Spike wrote:Re: Emma Frost... her face is too thin, her lips are too big and fish-like, and she has a diaper-waist. I just can't stand looking at her! I'm not surprised that the Hulk and Hercules figures from that series sell faster than her. I'm not shitting you guys either... I work at a Walmart and walk by those figures every day. Maybe the plastic is better quality than what Toy Biz used in their manufacturing runs. But dear God, Hasbro needs to work on aesthetics.
And every day I walk past them, I keep thinking about getting that X3 Beast. But the raised price and lack of comic book still burns me. I won't get any of the HMLs unless it is something really special. X3 Phoenix, Colossus, and Juggernaut look pretty cool. Which is why I keep thinking about getting the X3 Beast...
Zuko wrote:I'm trying to decide if that's entirely true. Phoenix's original prototype looked gorgeous. Next we see Hasbro buy out Toybiz. Then soon after we see a new picture of her and she's completely different and horrible looking.
Counterpunch wrote:Important side note to what you said Spike and I'm not bolding this as an affront to you. It's just for emphasis and to spread the general knowlege:
HML series 1 and 2 were designed ENTIRELY by ToyBiz.
Please direct any and all hate concerning these releases to ToyBiz. The truth is that we don't know how actual Hasbro ML's will look.

Ah, ok. I had heard many times that Hasbro took over at this point, and that whatever they released was what Hasbro designed. Though I had also heard that Toy Biz designed the X3 Phoenix, and that was why the first proto we saw looked awesome compared to the second proto (the Fox Muldar in drag).
But, after seeing those new super-articulated GI Joes that Hasbro is making... I have some hope that they can do ML figures right. But they will have to be outstanding for me to buy them... like I said earlier about the price and comic.
