But from what's been said, Level 1s, even with all their upgrades, don't make good strafers. and it's not just one side saying this. It's pretty well all over the place.

Also, I tried. Rav (was someone else) was pulled back down to level 1 because he WASN'T succsessful at level 2. Now, maybe he is ready now. But he came down to train. (and help in quint missions)

I think one of the main problems with strafe is that it's MUCH easier to build a decent rammer as you can just pile up the feeder and stat which Increases the damage by ram, NTAs and equip armour. whereas with strafe you need to have lots of strafe, and a bit of firepower, so you NTA's will mainly be crap(unless you can find a decent weapon) and your defence is virtually nil, and then you have the problem of strafe's damage being much more random than rams, and requiring situational use to be truely affective, it's hard to convince casual players to go for a setup that is optimised by being outnumbered, and i don't want to encourage people sitting at the top of a level and not leveling up.

Agreed. I always found low-level avoiders and rammers to do much better than low-level strafers over the long haul. Sure, you get outnumbered and, if you're a bit lucky AND have more XP than everyone, you get a few nice hauls, but the Avoid and Ram bots will still do better in average XP per mission.

indeed, though the possibility of 365% dammage in a single move is mighty tempting.
