Ditto.

Our two countries in particular are tied very closely, especially in later years.

2005..that was the tunnel and bus bombs wasn't it?

I believe so.

And *Elita_One*, my post was directed more at Spoon's post, but nevertheless.

My main point is that for a lot of Americans, 9/11 wasn't just a horrible tragety and a great loss of life, it was a horrible shock. No one in my generation can tell me that they're lives have not changed or have been shaped somewhat because of 9/11, whether it be through the political issues shaped by it, the simple shock of seeing for themselves the great horrors humans are capable or, or a family member or friend being one of the victims.

People, especially politicians, throw 9/11 around like a all access jusification card for whatever the hell it is they're doing that otherwise would have caused a huge uproar and I think that's one reason why so many people are so sick of hearing about it. But for the people who remember it as it was and not a stepping stone into war, we still feel the need to remember.

I'm fine with people remembering their loss. I however completely hate how your grieve is apparantly so important that is has to be on the news throughout the whole world every year again and again.

So you think you can counterbalance it by making obnoxious comments? And seriously, tough that it is plastered on your TV, the world is dependant on us. The reason most people hate America is because we haven't done enough for them. Start fending for your self then if you dont like it. We didn't ask your local TV to put it on the news, your news felt it was important enough to put on the news that day or had nothing better going on in the postage stamp sized country to make news of. And oh yea, China doesn't really care much for human rights, so why doesn't your country make a big deal about it? I guess they are waiting for US to do it right?

And seriously, if you are going to make comments like you did, you should really think about saying it to someones face and not over a computer. It's funny how opinions can change when you are standing in front of someone you are commenting on. I'm tired of people using the Internet as their personal rant place because they don't have the courage to do it in person.

Stop feeling so damn important yank.
Also, yay for generic assumptions about courage, Anonymous, Internet and such. I bloody would say it someone's face if it wasn't for the fact most of you guys are living couple of thousand Km's away. You are of course free to take a plane and travel here, i'll gladly say "Stop feeling so bloody important you stupid yank" in your face right there and then.

Americans don't expect other countries to have coverage of 9/11 and mourn with us. But of course we are going to do it every year. It has a lot of significance to us, even if it means squat to foreigners. And we do care about other's tragedies. I believe the money and supplies we gave to the relief effort of the tsunami numbered in the millions, if not billions, and that was just from our citizens!!!

True
but...The people who were killed that day were forgotten

There are bodies still trapped in the Arizona and after 60 some odd years there is oil still leaking out of it

Because it was 6 years or 60 years don't forget the dead or treat these incidents as if there insignificant .....

That is absolutely true! You wouldn't believe the amount of respect that people have when visiting the Pearl Harbor Memorial. You speak in hushed tones, and you'd think it just happened due to how people act in there. It is all out of respect. The only thing that gets me? They cut off the superstructure of the ship (it didn't sink completely underwater.) They removed what was above water and it is rusting in a field. Other than that the memorial is beautiful. We should have one like that for 9/11.

Wow.. I have heard of expressing opinions but this name calling crap stops now.. If not board suspensions will be given out.
If you do not understand why people morn and have something negative to add just hit the back button and refrain from posting it..
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

They have been talking memorial for years

The best idea I heard was they would of made a mini WTC as statues with the victims names on both towers like they have on the wall for the fallen of Vietnam

I was watching TechTV live when the first plane hit the WTC at first I thought it was some horrible accident. That changed when the second one the other tower then one more hit the Pentagon and one more crashed in a field somewhere in
Pennsylvania and I knew then that my world was forever changed.

Hearing the horror from Stern and his crew and watching it on tv was surreal.

Me too. I remember getting the report from Howard first while I was at work.

I do belive I was in 5th grade...they basically kept us in the dark about it...Happened in like 3rd period when the teacher got a call. All my classmates started going home for what reason I didn't know at the time, was kind of jealous lol.

I think I finally found out what happened when we had the TV in the room on for a few minutes, either that or I asked about it later on. I mourned the loss, I think I even said a prayer. I still mourn when they have the moment of silence every year ritually done for each attack and fallen tower. I can't really say it affected my life at all, atleast personally, nothing changed for me except for the things around me security-wise and all.
