For a moment you stop looking only at the aesthetic and you start looking at the design.
-Then you realize the upper legs are panel formed with a lot of small parts and assembled with pins. You then remember "that" chest piece on Prime that still doesnt close perfectly (after how many versions??) because in 2015, pins are still "hard" to align.
-Then you look at the shoulder joints and they seems really thin and fragile.
-Then You see the switch on his arm suggesting electronic parts and you remember how durable these usually are on TT/Hasbro toys.
-Then you remember TT/Hasbro sub minimal use of diecast part. You wonder how stable those cute small legs will be with no diecast parts and those shaky panels?
- Then early pricing suggest that even with mass production and lower quality material, hes going to be more expensive than the competition.
- Then you remember "that" (or those) Dinobot(s) you bought that feels so much better than the only official Dinobot you paid the same price.
- Then you remember that TT is charging 200$ for a recolor of a mold that has already been milked to the bone. That same mold selling for less than 60$ at a big toy store near you. Of course the price is justified because it's some kind of exclusive product they couldnt mass market.
- Then you remember that 3rd party companies continue to offer support after they sold you something and provide you with replacement parts or free upgrades. You look at the cosmic rust on those legs and wonder why the big official company never did anything about it. Or you look at all the upgrades you bough from those 3rd party because the official one didn't care about making any.
I can go on an on but i think i made my point

. I'm keeping my preorder for the "quake" version because most of my 3rd party TF dont feel like wasted money. Cant say the same thing about "that" Megatron, or "that" Rodimus
