That was the ulimate of lame. That guy died. That's it, dead, over, pushing up the daisies, cold, not breathing, ceased to function and a goner. Strike was totally vaporised by a positron (sp?) cannon, no amount of phase shift armor can save you from that, there is just no way in hell you can survive that.
But then suddenly he came back to life.
Destiny. Fail.
Yazan survived his Hambrabi blowing up. But then, Yazan is badass personified.
Also, he used an escape pod.
Mu just got lucky. He IS supposed ot be a Newtype (Yeah, they exist in SEED), though, but I don't think that would include explosion resistance.
The GAT-X105 Strike Gundam is initially designed by Junichi Akutsu and cleaned up by Kunio Okawara for the series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED as one of the five mobile suits developed under the Earth Alliance's G Project. In the real world, the GAT-X105's base design is closely (though not entirely) based on the original RX-78-2 Gundam and also shows strong design influences from the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam.

In my opinion, it's a custom. The transformation is WAY to complex for it to be a plausable MS-V. The pilot would likely get crushed, though if I'm mistaken, then that's ok. I've never seen it before. Closest thing I can think of is this thing: http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/msigloo/ymt-05.htm
It's from Gundam Igloo, a CG series that came out a couple years ago that I've never seen. I think it had like six five minute episodes. Hmm, maybe it's on youtube, hopefully subbed, as it will likely never come over.
Oh, and for the record, I love all Gundam series I've seen except Superior Defender, which I'll admit I didn't give much a chance cause of the animation and writing style, but I've grown to like the SD look, so I'll probably get it for cheap someday.
My favorite suit of all times is the GP-03 Debronium, even if it is unwieldy and impractical in general mobile suit combat. Well, it's tied with the Alex, and I love the design for some reason(hey, that suit sported no red!).
Duke of Luns wrote:^To each their own. However, I'm guess you kind of like the concept,as your sig has the Freedom Gundam connected with the Meteor unit. Essentially the same thing(and the reason why I loved the Debronium), except more manuverable.
Hmm, this gives me an idea for a new thread.

I think after ZZ Gundam and Char's Counterattack, I'm going to give every other Gundam series a shot. At once.
I have a 120Gig hard drive now. I have enough room to house every animated work of Gundam since the beginning.

Turn-A's one of my favorites, if you don't mind subtitles.

Oh I don't mind subtitles at all. After CCA and SEED, I'll probably give the other AU series a shot.
*Sigh.* Even G Gundam and Wing...

I've tried X, but it just didn't have the right charm. Also, the ending theme was really cheesy, but not the good kind. It's the kind of cheesy that takes itself seriously, like soap operas, or William Shatner.

You know, out of context (like at a rave) this comment becomes a lot more interesting...

Shadowman wrote:Well, I watched CCA.
By the GODS!
It WAS epic. Particularly the FInal Fight between Amuro and Char. First, beam rifles, but OH! They broke them/ran out of ammo. Then, beam sabers, but, again, broken or lost. Then they just did hand to hand combat.
I know Hand-to-hand is a little too much like Super Robot for Gundam's taste, but GODDAMN if it didn't look good.
Also, it tought me the meaning of DUAL AUDIO. Particularly a file with both Japanese and English tracks, which make life Hella easier. I'm now watching Zeta again, so I can find out how to pronouce half the words in it. (Turns out, Jamaican's name isn't pronouced like a person from Jamaica. It's Juh-MY-cahn. Weird.)

Actually, hand-to-hand has been a staple of UC Gundam from the start, especially in the first series. Most of the fights between Amuro and Char devolved into all-out brawls.
But, I digress, CCA was awesome. I personally found the ending funny. Even in death, Amuro and Char couldn't escape Lalah's manipulative ways.
AND I WANT MY PURU TWO!
Godmodule wrote:I'm sort of glad they made an effort to get away from UC. I love UC, I do however with Zeon basically gone, Londo Bell wiped out, and Amuro and especially Char dead (and don't give me any crap they "may have survived" we all know they both bought it in CCA), what's the point?

Shadowman wrote:I learned something today: Amuro Ray is an arrogant douchebag.
He got pissed at Kamille, just because everyone likes Kamille better. He said something along the lines of "Why does he get to pilot the MKII when I'm right here? I'm better!"
Then I realized: This went on for a good long time in First Gundam. He would bitch and moan whenever someone else would take out the Gundam, saying HE'S the only one who could do it right.
Therefore, Amuro Ray is an arrogant douchebag.
And Kira Yamato was a lot less arrogant. Amuro bitched that he was the only one who could pilot the Gundam. Kira bitched BECAUSE he was the only who could pilot his Gundam.
Then again, Murrue Ramius was a lot softer on Kira than Bright Noa was on Amuro.
